Special Containment Procedures: SCP-1234 is to be kept at a High-Value Item Storage Locker at Site 19. Personnel with level 0 or higher clearance are to be allowed to operate SCP-1234, and have to be accompanied by 2 armed guards with level 3 or higher clearance. No personnel are allowed to operate SCP-1234 on the REV setting. SCP-1234 is to always be kept on the OFF/AUTO setting.

Description: SCP 1234 is an anomalous paper shredder, manufactured by DAHLE Incorporated which possesess an extremely simple mechanical structure, similar to that of a children's toy. All components are made of plastic with vibrant colours, though this is the least important of it's properties. SCP-1234 has 3 settings, all of which are documented below:

SCP 1234, when on the OFF setting, does nothing.

SCP 1234, when on the AUTO setting, does not destroy paper, but downgrades it in size and quality. For example, if you put a piece of opaque paper/cardboard with the A4 format, the format would be downgraded to A5 and the paper would no longer be opaque. A8 paper will be expunged from existence, with no shredded paper appearing inside of the machine.

SCP 1234, when on the REV setting, vaporizes any and all life forms within a 5 meter radius once paper is inserted. This period of vaporization expires after approx. 2 minutes after paper is inserted, and for a brief second, SCP-1234 will release a shockwave destroying any living thing in its path. The shockwave only has a measured diameter of around 12 meters. Paper inserted into SCP-1234 will be shredded into small pieces and, when assembled again, will display an ASCII illustration of something connected with the person inserting the paper. Begin Log

D-9341 introduced to SCP-1234 on REV setting. Paper was inserted into SCP-1234 and D-9341 was immediately vaporized by the shockwave. 2 minutes later, as usual, a bigger shockwave occured. Once paper was recovered and assembled again, the paper recovered from the machine resembled an ASCII image of MTF Epsilon-11, a unit D-9341 had had some experience with. Paper given designation SCP-1234-1.
