Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept inside a locked metal container at all times. The container is to be padded on the inside as to prevent damage to SCP-XXXX. Reflective surfaces must be removed from within SCP-XXXX’s containment area before it is removed from it’s container.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a beveled hand mirror contained within a silver frame. The frame is flanked by two (2) winged bare chested women at either side, and two (2) Putto at the top and bottom of the frame. SCP-XXXX has been dated to the late 18th century, and bears similarities to other such mirrors of the Victorian Era. The mirror segment of SCP-XXXX itself appears cloudy, though undamaged.

Upon initial viewing SCP-XXXX shows no anomalous properties, however when a subject picks up and looks into the mirror, they notice a delayed reflection, this delay has remained consistent at 3.5 seconds upon initial viewing. Upon further viewing of the mirror, subjects will notice the reflection delay begin to shorten over time, until the mirror functions as expected. The time to expected result is not consistent, with some subjects reporting perfect reflection within ten (10) seconds, and others upto thirty (30) minutes.

All subjects report that after SCP-XXXX begins reflecting it’s surroundings acurately, it will begin to show the subject performing actions. This is always followed by the subject performing that action. Subjects seem compelled or unable at this point to put down SCP-XXXX, but will continue to report what they see in the mirror. All subjects report the time delay of their actions growing larger, in reverse to their initial contact with SCP-XXXX. Once the delay reaches 3.5 seconds, subjects are able to put down SCP-XXXX.

Once losing contact with SCP-XXXX, subjects behave erratically. Some subjects break down into panic, others simply freeze, unable to comprehend their surroundings. These subjects are now to be reclassified as SCP-XXXX-X and brought to an on-site psychologist, and Dr. Malvulgein for questioning.

Addendum: Per authorization of Dr. Malvulgein, and the site director, no personnel below level three (3) are permitted access to SCP-XXXX, and no further testing is to be conducted on SCP-XXXX.
