Item #: SCP-(placeholder is just Heirloom)(other placeholder is the Heir)

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: This SCP is currently allowed to exist outside of the foundation although its behaviors, actions, and location are always heavily monitored by a foundation member from a safe distance of at least 1,000 feet. Attempts have been made at containment of this SCP but so far, all attempts have failed and currently the foundation has no intentions of any new attempts in the near future. It has been noted though that SCP-(The Heir) is most likely dampening SCP-(the Heirloom's) power in some way and is likely the most effective method at keeping its powers under control.

Description: SCP-(The Heirloom) Is a Keter class SCP know by the term The Heirloom. Currently this SCP cannot be contained by the foundation despite their best efforts. It has been noted by the foundation that documentation of this SCP can be found dating back at least 150 years by the family with whom it currently resides. This SCP follows a specific bloodline and every generation picks a new heir for the bloodline. The SCP will present itself as a different object from the previous heir and draw the new heir’s attention making them pick it as a sentimental object in which to remember the previous heir by. Once the new heir has come into contact with SCP-(The Heirloom) they become SCP-(The Heir) The Heir. SCP-(The Heirloom) has been noted to manipulate the world around the heir in order to suit their best needs although the methods it has used to accomplish this have varied greatly from each generation. An attempt was made 50 years ago by the foundation to contain SCP-(The Heirloom) and SCP-(The Heir) but all personnel and staff involved in the mission to secure the SCP’s came back in a confused and disorderly state shortly their after deteriorating to the mental age of a toddler. Currently SCP-(The Heirloom) has taken the form of a small brown egg made of marble that sits on a gold-plated stand. The current owner of SCP-(The Heirloom), The Heir, has cooperated with the foundation on multiple occasions and has even gone on missions with foundation members when an SCP has been found that manipulates reality. SCP-(The Heirloom) keeps its heir safe from harm whether it be an anomaly or physical danger. It has even been noted to wipe information that might be dangerous from the heir’s mind such as memetic hazards. The SCP has also been noted to take SCP-(The Heir) away from any situation to a safe place if they take on any dangerous or life-threatening injuries how it accomplishes this task is still unknown to the foundation. While vague it has been stated by the current SCP-(The Heir)that despite what it looks like on the outside he feels as if his purpose is not to be protected by SCP-(The Heirloom) but instead that it’s his responsibility to keep its power contained and that he is unsure of what SCP-(The Heirloom) would do or be capable of if the bloodline would die out. It has been noted by foundation members that SCP-(The Heirloom) seems to be able to survive without SCP-(The Heirloom) as it has waited five years in one case before picking the next heir. It is believed by foundation researchers that SCP-(The Heirloom) was contained by the ancestors of SCP-(The Heir) but how long ago this happened is unknown.

Discovery: SCP-(The Heirloom) was first discovered by foundation members in May of 1934 although the exact date no longer available in foundation records. The SCP was noted to be a sentimental object of the SCP-(The Heir) at the time and was found to be the source of strange anomalies happening around SCP-(The Heir). All attempts at containing this SCP ultimately failed but the details as of why have been expunged from record.

History: SCP-(The Heirloom) has picked five heirs since its discovery in 1934. All record of previous heir’s name and image are missing from records although it is noted that anyone who has blood ties or was someone the heir thought of as a close friend will remember their face and name long after their death. Although no one seems to remember anything they are told about previous heirs after they leave the vicinity of whoever told them about said heir.
