Description: SCP-XXXX is a wood-grained, 1979-81 NAMCO style arcade cabinet with a Data-East 1981 series style coin box, 0.6m in width, 0.8m in depth, and 1.7m in height, with a marquee that reads, "POLYBIUS" in a greenish-blue color. When turned on, the cabinet displays a splash screen that reads "Winners don't use drugs," and contains the FBI seal, with the signature of FBI Director William H. Webster underneath. After a few seconds, the screen displays the title "POLYBIUS" in the same color as the marquee, which moves upwards from the center of the screen to display text, giving a copyright date of "1981" and a creator company of Sinneslöschen Inc. No such company has been documented or found. The word is an amalgamation of two German words, "Sinne," meaning senses, and "löschen," meaning to erase, or to extinguish, although the two words are not combined with proper German. The game is described by those who have played it as "popular to the point of addiction, with lines forming around the machines often resulting in fighting over who would play next." The game itself is described as "weird looking, abstract. Fast action, with puzzle elements." Foundation field agents tested the object's psychoactive effects, including amnesia, insomnia, night terrors and hallucinations. Reportedly, the machine has caused at least two people to experience heart attacks, one of which died shortly after. A cover-up story was fabricated, describing the cause of the events as, "Staring at a screen for unhealthy amounts of time in a dark arcade room" and the heart attacks as "heart failure due to outside events causing stress."

Discovery and Capture: The object was found by Foundation agents at an undisclosed arcade in Portland, Oregon, on the date of ██/██/1981, and began taking notes on it. A month after the object was found, Foundation agents took it into custody while the arcade was closed, replacing the empty space with a Pac-Man™ cabinet. Any people who played the arcade game were administered Class-A amnestics, cover stories were fabricated for any who remembered the game-play, and Foundation Agent ██████ ██████ was instructed to make a video debunking it as a myth.
