Item #: SCP-5000
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5000 is to be contained in a milk container made from stainless steel, with a capacity of 25 l. This container is to be kept in a freezer at -80°C at Site-23, to prevent deterioration of SCP-5000 and its properties.
Description: SCP-5000 represents a colony of microorganisms that live in a liquid with yet unknown properties, the aforementioned liquid having a volume of 24 l, the microorganisms themselves having a circular shape, with a rule of 0.3 mm (300 µm) in diameter.
If not disturbed, the cells emanate a smell that subjects have described as being similar to the smell of milk. The color of these cells is also white, subjects often mistaking the colony for milk.
When disturbed, the cells change their color from white to a grayish green, similar to green mold. The smell also changes, becoming similar to the smell of moldy milk, subjects often becoming falling on the floor and vomiting, most vomiting for around 3 minutes straight, the subjects losing consciousness afterwards, and being in need for hospitalization.
If left undisturbed afterwards for 5 minutes, the microorganisms begin to revert back to their normal properties.
If drank after being disturbed, the subjects described the organism's taste as being similar to the taste of milk. The subject also reported that they feel stronger, continuously gaining muscle mass. One subject has managed to destroy the iron door to SCP-5000's containment chamber. It is yet unknown if their bones are affected, since foundation scientists didn't have the chance to confirm that.
After 5 minutes, the subject's muscle mass stops growing. Instead, their muscles begin deteriorating and rotting. Their bones also begin melting into a white substance. The appearance and smell of this substance in similar the appearance and smell of milk, its composition being similar to milk as well.
One subject that was chosen to consume a sample of this substance has described its taste as being similar to milk as well.
