Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Thaumiel/Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be displayed publicly in its original location of discovery, ████████████████ in the city of ████████, under the guise of a public art installation. Ordinary maintenance work is to be carried out to ensure the continued aesthetic appearance of the object as part of maintaining this fiction. Any damage to the inner workings of SCP-XXXX is to be rectified as soon as possible after it is discovered. Efforts are ongoing to catalogue all components of SCP-XXXX; refer to Document XXXX-PC-1 for more details on this project.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a statue of a set of straight-edged abstract forms, including cubes, tetrahedra and icosahedra, and the complex machinery contained within these forms. These forms are composed of bronze plates on a wooden framework. The components of the machinery, the bronze plating and the framework have been determined to contain absolutely no anomalous materials, and are themselves non-anomalous - unsurprisingly, due to the "anomalous" effect that SCP-XXXX itself possesses.
The machinery inside SCP-XXXX exerts a field, ███ m in radius, which has been measured using alethometadynamics equipment and found to have a Trosko-Andresky Abnormalization value of -0.732 - in essence, it is an anti-anomaly. SCP-class objects within this field tend to have their effects dampened or even removed entirely while they remain inside the field. Damage to or removal of portions of the machinery inside SCP-XXXX tends to cause a shrinkage in the radius of the effect or to increase the Trosko-Andresky Abnormalization value of the projected field.
Disturbingly, it appears that certain portions of the machinery of SCP-XXXX are already missing, and replacements are being sought.
Addendum-01: Due to recent advances in alethometadynamics, [REDACTED]. As a result, while replacements for those parts missing from SCP-XXXX are still being sought, this is mostly in an attempt to locate the originals and keep them under Foundation control in order to avoid the possibility of a YK-class sterile universe scenario.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be provided a standard single-occupancy entomological specimen habitat, in addition to a plant-based diet sufficient to sustain an average Madagascan Hissing Cockroach. A sheet of A3 paper and a saucer of insect-safe ink are to be placed within the habitat and replaced once every 2 days.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an adult male Madagascan Hissing Cockroach1 which exhibits intelligence beyond what its species is normally capable of. It has displayed the ability to understand English, read and write (although it has some trouble with carrying this out, given its physiology and relative size) and it also seems to possess an advanced theory of mind as it acknowledges itself as separate from other entities and can recognise itself in a mirror. However, it appears to lack an understanding of nouns, using the word "beetle" for everything it encounters other than itself, distinguishing between items by attaching clarifiers.
It's a cockroach that's convinced that it, and everything else it comes across, is a beetle.
It can also read and write.
The Foundation thinks that it calls everything a beetle because it doesn't get how nouns work, but it actually does.
It's just absolutely, 100% convinced that everything it sees is somehow a beetle.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Samples of tissue from animals and plants infected by SCP-XXXX are to be kept for study in a standard biohazard containment unit in the Foundation-owned portion of Schacht Asse II. All SCP-XXXX infectees outside of Foundation custody are to be incinerated, and any relatives of human infectees informed of their deaths, which are to be portrayed as deaths by accident or misadventure. A five-kilometer perimeter is to be maintained around SCP-XXXX-1, and any attack from within reported to the Site Director at Site-83, while peaceful overtures are to be politely but forcefully refused. Those approaching the perimeter from outside are to be redirected with the cover story that the location is an experimental nuclear waste storage facility.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a species of parasitic organism which blends elements of plant and animal species. It is capable of infecting all known mundane species of plant and animal, often taking forms similar to plant organs in animals and vice versa. Human infectees often lose many capabilities, including the ability to read and write. However, all animal infectees form small, isolationist communities which nevertheless readily accept other infectees of all species.
Infection with SCP-XXXX can occur via a wide variety of vectors. Direct surgical implantation of SCP-XXXX tissues is always successful in causing infection, but consumption of SCP-XXXX-infected fruit bodies resulted in infection in 95% of animal subjects tested. Infections in animals usually convert the lungs into structures similar to catkins, which can be fertilised by pollen from SCP-XXXX structures from plant and animal infectees. Fertilisation results in death in all cases, as SCP-XXXX-infected plants begin growing inside the infectee.
SCP-XXXX-1 is the village of ████████████, ████████. It is the only known SCP-XXXX infectee community, and much of what the Foundation knows about the behaviours of communities of SCP-XXXX infectees is derived from observations of SCP-XXXX-1. It has a significantly different form and appearance from before the first infection of SCP-XXXX in the community. Most buildings are now simple wattle-and-daub structures, thatched with fibre from SCP-XXXX-infected grasses. The few remaining brick structures are heavily carved with script in a previously unknown language determined to be using an impure abjad2 where the characters bear significant similarities to Egyptian heiroglyphics. This script appears to be religious in nature, using many of the trappings of early Jewish scripture, although notably omitting any mention of animal sacrifice.
SCP-XXXX-1 is, fundamentally, a simple farming village, with most families cultivating their own food. It engages in some seasonal rituals, including a ceremony which appears to be related to the first SCP-XXXX infection in the community, an event they refer to as the "Seeding". They also use a lunar calendar for religious observances and a solar calendar for practical purposes3. On the known occasions members of the SCP-XXXX-1 community have become aware of the presence of non-infected animals (including humans) within the boundaries of ████████████, they have reacted swiftly to detain these uninfected individuals, seemingly either keeping them confined and fed with SCP-XXXX-infected foodstuffs until they succumb to infection or holding some sort of celebration, including SCP-XXXX-foodstuffs as refreshments, in which visitors are expected to partake.
Date and Time: ██/██/20██
Personnel Involved: Dr. ███████ (located at Site-83, acting as oversight), D-207681, D-998321
Materials Used: D-207681 was supplied with a handheld camera with a radio link to Site-83. D-998321 was supplied with a backpack containing specimen containers and objects for barter. Both D-207681 and D-998321 were supplied with notebooks and pencils, as well as short-charge earbud communication devices for the purposes of communication with permanent Foundation personnel.
Log of Events: 10:45 - D-207681 and D-998321 are instructed that they are to make notes on their observations of the environment within the perimeter and given their equipment. Camera and communication devices are activated, tested and found to be functional.
10:50 - D-207681 and D-998321 head inwards on foot.
10:28 - D-998321 verbally observes a distinct lack of expected sounds from animals, commenting that it "gives him the creeps".
10:47 - D-207681 briefly stops, calling to D-998321 to pause as she moves the camera closer to a hazelnut tree. She asks for confirmation that the tree is abnormal, and Dr. ███████ confirms that the tree does indeed appear to display signs of SCP-XXXX infection. He requests that D-998321 take a sample, both of apparently uninfected foliage and of infected fruit, and caution against consumption of the vegetation. D-998321 complies.
11:23 - D-207681 and D-998321 reach the outskirts of ████████████. A pair of villagers note their presence, and hold a hurried conference. One heads further into the village, while the other approaches D-207681 and D-998321, engaging them in conversation.
11:42 - The villager who had headed into the village returns, bringing four more individuals, one of whom is wearing what appear to be ceremonial robes. He is introduced to D-207681 and D-998321 as the village priest, and the pair are invited to refresh themselves before moving on. D-207681 asks Dr. ███████ for advice, and they are instructed to accept the offer of shelter, but not any food. D-207681 complies, saying that they don't think they have time for a meal, but that they'll happily accept an opportunity to sit down and rest for a while. D-207681 and D-998321 are accompanied further into ████████████.
11:47 - D-207681 and D-998321 arrive at the village proper with their escort, where a number of villagers has congregated, several of whom carry simple farming implements such as hoes, sickles and pitchforks. D-207681 is instructed to pan the camera around to get a clear view of the buildings and does so. Unprompted, she zooms in on the village church (one of the few buildings which is made of bricks), making an observation that the carvings look like Egyptian heiroglyphics. D-207681 and D-998321 are again invited to partake in refreshments. D-998321 reiterates their reluctance to eat and their preference to simply rest before moving on. D-207681 and D-998321 are brought to the village church by the priest and take seats upon pews, which appear to originate from before the first SCP-XXXX infection in ████████████. They are followed by several members of the group of villagers. D-998321 notes that several of the more recently-constructed seats, which are notably cruder, appear to have blood vessels in the wood. D-207681 and D-998321 quietly converse, and D-998321 expresses trepidation.
11:55 - The bell in the church begins to ring. Other villagers enter the church, filling the seats. Snippets of conversation caught by the earbuds reveal them to be largely concerned with farming, although a few express excitement about an upcoming celebration. Notably, several non-human animals also enter, although they do not take seats on the pews.
12:00 - The priest takes his place at the pulpit, and begins a sermon related to acceptance of gifts. Mentions of "the Seeding" and "the joy of surrender" are littered throughout the sermon.
12:03 - D-207681 and D-998321 are mentioned in the sermon for the first time, and they are invited to head to the pulpit to be the first to accept the day's sacrament. D-998321 declines for both of them. The villagers subdue and restrain D-207681 and D-998321, smashing the camera in the process.
12:08 - D-207681 asks where they are being taken. Sounds of jangling metal, assumed to be keys, are heard, and D-998321 loudly complains about being locked into a cell.
12:13 - D-207681 and D-998321 are asked to give observations on the village. D-998321 becomes recalcitrant, but D-207681 explains that they are in a brick building which has similar markings to the church, but looks more like a police station.
15:47 - A brief conversation occurs between D-207681 and one of the villagers, in which she requests freedom and the villager denies her request.
15:49 - D-207681 explains that she and D-998321 have been given a meal, but that it is entirely composed of botanical fruits. They are cautioned against eating, except to avoid starvation. D-998321 expresses disgust at the interior of one of the fruits, saying that it's pink and feels spongy.
18:22 - D-207681 and D-998321 are instructed to push their trays back out of the cell by a villager. She expresses concern that they haven't eaten, to which D-998321 responds with an angry outburst against their confinement and the quality of the food.
20:07 - Contact with D-207681's earbud is lost. Current assumption is that it ran out of charge.
20:14 - Contact with D-998321's earbud is lost. Current assumption is that it ran out of charge.
Notes: Current status of D-207681 and D-998321 is unknown, but they are assumed to be either dead or infected with SCP-XXXX. No further exploration has been carried out so far.
Addendum: While the loss of two D-class personnel and equipment is unfortunate, the opportunity to examine a SCP-XXXX community in detail is priceless. I'd like to request firther observations be carried out, possibly by armed Foundation agents. - Dr. ███████

Special Containment Procedures: The main entrance to the cave system containing SCP-XXXX is to be sealed behind a vacuum-tight barrier with an airlock rated for hard vaccuum installed. The route to SCP-XXXX is to be clearly marked beyond this point.
8 gas sensors are to be installed at various points along the route leading to SCP-XXXX, linked to a monitoring station on the airward side of the airtight barrier. Maintenance of functional gas sensors and replacement of failed sensors is to be carried out at the discretion of the head of the on-site monitoring and containment team, but current guidelines are to carry out these tasks only after 4 gas sensors have failed. The on-site monitoring and containment team is to ensure that, except in the instance of these maintenance expeditions, any instance of air being detected beyond the airtight barrier is to be reported to the current off-site administrator for SCP-XXXX, who will prepare a report for the O5 council and determine an appropriate course of action.
Any civilian attempting to gain access to the cave system containing SCP-XXXX is to be detained and redirected, under the cover story that natural processes within the cave system consume oxygen, resulting in death by asphyxiation with little warning for those who enter.
Note: As of ██/██/19██, all entrances to the cave system containing SCP-XXXX have been identified and sealed. The main entrance is designated as Special Site-502 and a secure perimeter has been established. Local authorities have, so far, been cooperative.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a chamber within a cave system located within the Ural Mountains. Current consensus among Foundation researchers granted provisional Level 5 clearance for purposes of work on SCP-XXXX is that any matter entering SCP-XXXX is "fictionalised" - rendered functionally non-existent, although memories and records of entities composed of this matter are retained, albeit considered products of the imagination.
Foundation Internal Memorandum - ██/██/██
Researcher █████
Gentlemen, I think we might have it. The one sure-fire way to decommission anything. The ████████████ Caves, or, more specifically, SCP-XXXX, can functionally remove anything from existence, as long as it can be wrangled in there. I've put forward a formal proposal to the Council to have SCP-XXXX treated as a standard disposal method for any and all anomalous materials.
Addendum XXXX.1: On ██/██/19██, following acceptance of Researcher █████'s proposal, during disposal of anomalous materials manifested by SCP-████ within SCP-XXXX, Agent ████████ became aware of a constant breeze flowing into SCP-XXXX. She alerted the on-site team to this, and further disposal activities were aborted pending observation of the effect. Following a review of observations of SCP-XXXX, emergency protocols were enacted, and the current containment procedures were put in place.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: Any instance of SCP-XXXX-1 that comes to Foundation attention must be purged, and all associated instances of SCP-XXXX-2 and -3 euthanised. Members of these organisations who are not instances of SCP-XXXX-2 or -3 must be interviewed to ascertain exposure to late-stage SCP-XXXX phenomena, and amnesticised if necessary. Records of SCP-XXXX-1 instances are to be maintained in Document XXXX-01, including details of location, origin religion and doctrinal additions to core SCP-XXXX. In the event of the creation of an instance of SCP-XXXX-4, Protocol XXXX-4-APO is to be enacted immediately.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a religious philosophy, followers of which can come to exhibit several anomalous capabilities. Individual organisations practicing SCP-XXXX, hereafter referred to as SCP-XXXX-1, normally emerge as splinter groups of established religious organisations. Doctrinal elements of SCP-XXXX include autoflagellation, corporal enhancement of clergy and ritual group mortification.
SCP-XXXX-2 are members of instances of SCP-XXXX-1 who have replaced their core identities with SCP-XXXX. They display enhanced strength and durability, although not to the extent that instances of SCP-XXXX-3 do. They typically act as the "face" of instances of SCP-XXXX-1, in addition to sermonising to non-SCP-XXXX-2 and -3 members of SCP-XXXX-1. Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 typically exhibit what sociologists refer to as the "cult personality" or "cult psuedo-personality", displaying deep devotion to their instance of SCP-XXXX-1 above all other causes and beliefs and extreme resistance to even consider information that would challenge these beliefs, among other traits.
During the periodic ritual group mortifications that members of instances of SCP-XXXX-1 carry out, it is possible that one or more members will die. In this case, one or more of the group's instances of SCP-XXXX-2 will be selected to receive the "sacrament" which converts them to SCP-XXXX-3: stitching the flesh of the deceased directly onto the new instance of SCP-XXXX-3. Instances of SCP-XXXX-3 exhibit obviously enhanced strength and durability, focused on their corporal enhancements. They exclusively act as "clergy" for instances of SCP-XXXX-1, with those capable of hiding their enhancements preaching directly to even non-SCP-XXXX-2 members.
Late-stage SCP-XXXX-1 instances may engage in further self-mortification rituals, resulting in further augmentation of instances of SCP-XXXX-3. In these events, instances of SCP-XXXX-3 can become completely encased in a layer of added flesh, converting them into instances of SCP-XXXX-4, which display significantly enhanced strength and durability, even compared to instances of SCP-XXXX-3. They also display low-level reality warping capabilities, acting as foci for a widespread acceptance of SCP-XXXX and its attendant rituals and phenomena as normal. Instances of SCP-XXXX-4 are held by members of instance of SCP-XXXX-1 as objects of deep reverance and worship, and they are frequently referred to as "corporeal gods" or "Ascended Ones".
After an instance of SCP-XXXX-4 emerges, the instance of SCP-XXXX-1 it is attached to typically changes its focus, prioritising increasing the mass of its instance of SCP-XXXX-4 and converting it to an effigy. Observations have been inconclusive, but current theory is that completion of the effigy invites possession by an extradimensional entity. For a list of potential events involving the completion of an SCP-XXXX-4 effigy, see Document XXXX-02.
SCP-XXXX can be viewed as a new branch of Sarkicism, one which organically emerged as a simultaneous blending of elements of Proto- and Neo-Sarkicism and a rejection of many of the tenets and much of the mythology. In contrast to many Sarkic cults, they reject the concept of disease as a sacrament, and, in fact, members of instances of SCP-XXXX-1 who are currently displaying symptoms of illness are urged to avoid attending ceremonies. There is also a rejection of cannibalism, as it is viewed as "wasting" the flesh which the higher sacraments of SCP-XXXX demand. Tentative communication with comparatively benign members of known Sarkic cults has revealed no connections with any instance of SCP-XXXX-1.

This one's… weird. It's a format-screw, yes, but there's a reason for it. It was an idea that struck me, and it proved sufficiently interesting to write that I felt the need to get it written up and set down.
There are a few important things to say about it. The skip has to be alive, because otherwise the Foundation can just treat it as an object, stick it in a box and put information sanitation protocols in place, then forget about it. The skip has to be human, because that way, there will be scads of information out there in the world, being screwed with by the poor sap's existence. Finally, the skip has to be basically just a normal person except that their existence fucks with documentation of their existence, because that way, the Foundation can't justify sedating them, putting an IV feed in and then treating them as an otherwise dead object with some weird containment protocols.
This is an article which appears to paint the Foundation in a compassionate light. They're using actual pronouns, they're treating this anomalous human being as a person. That compassion, once you look beneath the surface, is self-serving. They use pronouns to make it easier to contain the skip. They treat the anomaly as a person because, again, it makes it easier to contain them. The Foundation does a hell of a lot of awful things, and it does them again and again, and it does them to protect humanity. If seeming to show a little compassion makes it easier to contain a, frankly, harmless skip? They're going to take the shortcut and allow people some attachment.
A quick note about reading this skip: Each collapsible is supposed to be a separate document, but I don't think that setting up 6 separate sandbox pages would be looked very kindly upon, and the effect would be lost if I had them as tabs. Treat each collapsible as a separate document within a broader, interconnected set of documents that, together, form a complete SCP article.
Object Class: Ket3r
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be housed in a standard entomological habitat. She is to be given a diet consistent with the nutritional needs of an adult female praying mantis. Standard insectoid clothing is to be supplied and a variety of extra amenities can be provided upon request, subject to O5 approval. SCP-XXXX has been issued a nameplate indicating her name, date of birth and object number, which she must wear at all times outside of her containment unit. Information concerning SCP-XXXX is to be stored in multiple documents, splitting these documents up if necessary, with an approximate data density of no more than 7 kilobytes per document, to permit accurate understanding of intended contents from contextual cues. Where possible, additional contextual cues are to be stripped out. Information sanitation protocols are to be enacted between documents related to SCP-5291 and all other Foundation documents. SCP-XXXX is to be assigned light administrative duties, in order to safeguard the fiscal health of those around her.
Description of Esoteric Properties: Documents, including digital files, containing information regarding SCP-XXXX spontaneously self-correct. As the amount of data within the document increases, the importance of affected details, scope of alterations and coherency of alterations all decrease. Efforts are ongoing to minimize disruption to SCP-XXXX's containment and care and the activities of the Foundation at large.
