SCP-5293-7 through SCP-5293-12 along with other SCP-5293 entities out of frame after moving to new location.
Item #: SCP-5293
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: The area around SCP-5293’s current location is to be disguised as a construction zone, with SCP-Employees disguised as construction workers, and telling all civilians to take alternate routes when traveling by foot or vehicle near SCP-5293. Once a year, a D-Class personnel is to be fed to every SCP-5293 entity to prevent SCP-5293 from leaving it’s current location. SCP-Personnel traveling inside the location of SCP-5293 are to travel behind the backside of SCP-5293s to prevent accidental feedings. If an SCP-5293 is seen preparing to travel, Guards are instructed to electrocute or damage the legs of SCP-5293, until the legs retract and SCP-5293 is immobile once again.
Description: SCP-5293 is a group of 23 entities, classified as SCP-5293-1 through SCP-5293-23. SCP-5293 resemble American family homes built in the 1960s, though no records of them being constructed have yet to be found. SCP-5293 are predatory entities that ambush their prey, usually humans, by disguising themselves as houses of a small neighborhood. SCP-5293 can lay dormant for about 6-8 months without food. When large enough food is detected in front of an SCP-5293, the front door of SCP-5293 will open, and an extremely long, about 30 meter, barbed tongue will shoot out and wrap around the prey, before quickly pulling it back into the front door. Eye witnesses claim that when the front door of an SCP-5293 opens, large carnivorous teeth estimated to range around 19-31 centimeters protrude out, and a fleshy throat can be seen beyond the door. However, when viewed from side windows, the throat, teeth, tongue, or any flesh is unable to be seen, but it is unknown if the windows are illusionary or if the door leads to another place. When no food is presented to SCP-5293 in a 6-8 month span, all instances of SCP-5293 will proceed to develop arachnid like legs, most similar to the spider family Pholcidae, though on a much larger scale, and will seemingly migrate to a new hunting location. SCP-5293 have even been seen destroying homes in used neighborhoods and placing themselves in lots to be used, seemingly changing the size of their bodies to fit the lot. SCP-5293 entities are seemingly inactive at night, and it has been deemed safe for personnel to move freely around the location at this time. Despite being predators, SCP-5293 have no ways of detecting prey, so how they can seemingly detect it without senses is still unknown. It is hypothesized that SCP-5293 entities can sense electrical signals like modern sharks to detect prey, but this has yet to be proven. SCP-5293 was discovered in southern Utah on July 10th, 2010, and have moved approximately 5 times since discovery, however it is theorized SCP-5293 have been traveling since the 1960s.
