Special Containment Procedures: This item is too be contained in a small 8 inch by 8 inch display case inside the center in of a medium sized 50 square foot x 50 square foot containment chamber located in Site [REDACTED]’s Safe SCP wing. Personnel or subjects who enter into the forsenity of SCP-XXXX are not to touch or attempt to try on SCP-XXXX without security clearance from level 3 personnel or higher. Subjects who try on SCP-XXXX are instructed to wear SCP-XXXX for a duration of at least 10 consecutive minutes in order to study SCP-XXX’s effects.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a pair of bright red and white running shoes manufactured and distributed by [REDACTED]. SCP-XXX appears to be
In poor condition and suggests noticeable wear causing it's once bright red color to deplete
into a much darker shade of red. The design suggests it was manufactured somewhere in the mid-late 1980’s and upon acquisition they were reported never to have been worn since. Persons wearing the shoes show signs of panic and distress when trying them on, one subject described that the shoes being worn had a mind of their own and that any movement or physical activity made by them was completely out of their control . The shoes force their wearers to either run at impossible speeds, perform dangerous stunts, or to harm others. the cause is unknown as to how or why SCP-XXXX, a pair of ordinary running shoes possesses these abnormal abilities as multiple units of the exact same make and model were sold without the anomaly within the same year.
Removal of SCP-XXXX can cause exhaustion, decrease in muscle mass by ███% ,
mild-severe injuries and extreme panic and paranoia. Wearers (depending
on physical features weight and/or ability) will run at a minimum of 12 miles
per hour and a maximum of 37 miles per hour despite the human body’s
limitations.
Addendum#1: One incident occurred on / /19 when the shoes were first
sold at a ██████ in a shopping mall in West Virginia when a 19 year old college student purchased the shoes only to then start kicking other customers while wearing the shoes he tried to explain to the security personnel of the mall that the shoes were forcing him to do it which led him to be arrested and later admitted into the █████████ Hospital For The Mentally Unwell.
Addendum:#2: SCP-XXXX was discovered in a local thrift store in [REDACTED], Georgia after a 32 year old crippled man named ██████ who tried on the shoes reported to have left his wheelchair and proceeded to sprint full speed out of the store at a pace of 28 miles per hour a very abnormal speed for a man with a crippling injury. The police were called shortly after the man sprinted from the thrift store still wearing SCP-XXXX and the man was detained.
When the shoes were confiscated the man after having the shoes removed collapsed from extreme exhaustion presumably caused by the 100 mile run [REDACTED]took after exiting the store. After he regained consciousness █████ told police that he had no control over his actions when the shoes were worn. The foundation contained SCP-XXXX on / /20 and is currently being held at
