Special Containment Procedures: SCP-9999 is to be contained where it was discovered, now designated Containment Area-6ζ (Six Zeta). Containment Area-6ζ is to be staffed by no less than 100 total personnel, consisting of (at least) 25 Armed Guards, 50 level 2+ Researchers, and 25 miscellaneous staff members (Janitors, Managers, Secretaries, etc.). D-class personnel are not allowed within Containment Site-6ζ , and are subject to immediate termination if found inside the site. SCP-9999 itself is to be "shaved" by removing enough mass to reduce it to 4 meters in diameter once it exceeds 10 meters in diameter. However, SCP-9999 is to not be reduced to under 4 meters in diameter, as this would interfere with the power generation process.
Description: SCP-9999 is a mass of radioactive materials, consisting of several radioactive isotopes. The isotopes include Phosphorus-32, Vanadium-48, Thorium-227, with many more unidentified. Upon recovery, SCP-9999 was approximately 8 meters in diameter, but this is subject to constant change due to its anomalous properties.
The radioactive material within SCP-9999 does not "decay". Rather, each material gains mass at the same rate as their normal half-lives. Rather than, for example, a proton decaying to a neutron and electron, new atomic nuclei begin to form on the exterior or SCP-9999 through unknown means. This has been dubbed "Negative Decay", with each component having a "Double Life".
SCP-9999's power generating capabilities have not gone unnoticed by the Foundation, leading to SCP-9999's current function within Containment Area-6ζ. SCP-9999 generates power in two main ways. The primary method of power generation is using SCP-9999 for traditional nuclear fission, as once material is removed from SCP-9999, it loses all anomalous properties. The secondary method is to use the intense heat of SCP-9999 to boil water to turn turbines. The immense electricity generated using SCP-9999 powers most Foundation sites in North America.
