Special Containment Procedures: SCP - XXXX is to be contained in a secure locked box with a layer of high level sound proofing material lining the inside walls. It is to be contained in Site 19 Containment Sector 3, Unit 6. SCP - XXXX requires no human or mechanical presence to protect however biannual checks to the integrity of the box are recommended.
Description: SCP - XXXX is an anomalous bladed melee weapon believed to have its origins in the Medieval Levant around the 11th century during the First Crusade. The weapons anomalous properties allow it to shift its appearance and metallurgic makeup to match the appearance of contemporary swords or blades from the perceived era of the sword. Currently SCP - XXXX resembles the only mainstream bladed weapons still in use, a Leon Paul branded Mag-Tec Fencing Foil. No serial number is inscribed on any of the parts and the Foil can't be matched to any manufacturers logs.
SCP - XXXX is believed to be sentient and semi aware of its surroundings and of the passage of time. How SCP - XXXX observes its surroundings to gauge its current time period is currently unknown as it possesses no auditory, vocal or optical parts or organs. Past experiments to deceive SCP - XXXX have been mostly successful (See Experiment Log - 001).
Human contact with SCP - XXXX causes an immediate reaction and causes the human in contact to grab SCP - XXXX and engage in combat with any nearby humans the user perceives as "enemies of the Holy Land". Affected individuals are to be referred to as SCP - XXXX- A. SCP - XXXX- A posses no rational or logical thinking during the time it is affected. SCP - XXXX - A are shown to possess a fluent understanding of Medieval Old German. Occasional words or phrases from SCP - XXXX - A's native language can be recorded but are rare. During the time SCP - XXXX- A is affected it possess increased strength, vitality, stamina and endurance sometimes to seemingly inhuman levels. Scientific grade tranquilizer designed for large mammals is shown to be effective in stopping SCP - XXXX - A.
SCP - XXXX releases constant low frequency sound to subconsciously draw humans to pick it up. The sound is mostly random phrases in Old German however Medieval French and Latin have been occasionally observed. These frequencies show no effect to non humans or humans who have been adequately sound protected with industrial grade headphones.
Experiment results:
Experiment #1: SCP - XXXX is placed into a room by a mechanical arm designed to look like the average medieval household in the Holy Roman Empire. D-Class actors recite pre-practiced lines in Old German. SCP - XXXX slowly melts itself down to a liquid metal state then reforms into a standard German crusader sword. No changes in temperature were recorded in the room. Removal of props and D-Class personal causes SCP - XXXX to revert back to its current modern incarnation as a Fencing Foil.
Experiment #2: SCP - XXXX is placed into a modernly furnished room designed to look like an American living room. A television playing prerecorded fake news clip pets made to sound like they're from the year 20██. SCP - XXXX makes minor adjustments to its current makeup to form a Fencing Foil of unknown make and model, believed to be a commercially available product in the year 20██.
SCP - XXXX appears to have knowledge of future events or future weaponry.
Experiment #3: SCP - XXXX is placed into a room featuring furniture typical of living quarters from science fiction. SCP - XXXX appears to be unconvinced it's currently in the far future and no change in its form occurs.
