Special Containment Procedures

SCP-6002 is contained within an official high-value item storage facility at Site-█. Testing during SCP-6002's "active phase" must be approved only with the express permission of Dr. ████ and Researcher █████. No personnel of Level 3 or lower may submit a testing proposal, unless they are sponsored by their supervisor of Level 4 or higher.

The foundation is to be delivered 1 Litre (1000ml) of human blood from medicinal donors on a weekly basis. This delivery is to be transported directly to the containment area on Site-█.
Every 12 hours, a Class-D personnel is to be given a secure beaker of 400ml of the delivered blood, and they are to fill SCP-6002 to an appropriate level, while being observed by Dr ████, Dr ███, or Researcher █████.

In the event of an emergency regarding this object, Mobile Task Force Oscar-9B (Broken Coriolis) is to be deployed to recover the object. Each agent is to be equipped with typical MTF equipment, as well as 500ml of human blood apiece.

Description

SCP-6002 is a transparent glass jar, with an approximate capacity of 350 millilitres. It is devoid of any known markings. There are 2 eyeballs within the jar itself, designated SCP-6002-A. Tissue sample analysis have shown them to belong to an unknown human, and are approximately 450 years old. SCP-6002-A are completely immovable by any known means attempted by Foundation staff. SCP-6002 itself is of unknown origin and unknown age. SCP-6002 also contains a folded gauze, designated SCP-6002-B.

SCP-6002 in its "transitional state".
Note the small amount of blood present.

SCP-6002 seems to be completely impervious to any kind of damage or harm, including by way of damage through explosions, high impact falls, and blunt force trauma. However, due to the potential consequences of destroying SCP-6002 but not its other components, attempts to destroy the object are now strictly prohibited.

When any other liquid apart from human blood is poured into SCP-6002, the interior of SCP-6002 heats to an extremely high heat (unknown as of now), evaporating any foreign liquids immediately. Neither any human blood within SCP-6002, SCP-6002-A, nor SCP-6002-B will be affected by this heat.

When SCP-6002 is filled with human blood, the liquid will begin to drain from it at a rate of approximately 60ml every 5 hours. The liquid will drain seemingly into SCP-6002-B, despite the gauze never being coloured or stained by the blood. When there is more than 100ml of blood within SCP-6002, SCP-6002 is considered to be within its “passive state”. When there is less than 100ml of human blood between SCP-6002, but not none, SCP-6002 is considered to be within its “transitional state”. When there is no human blood in SCP-6002, it is considered to be within its “active state”.

During the “passive state”, there are no known anomalous effects caused by SCP-6002.

Any living human who looks at SCP-6002-A during the “transitional” or “active” state will become completely immobile unless forcibly removed from exposure by a different person. They will be completely unable to move, speak, or react to stimuli. There is no known limit to how long this effect can last. Subjects who are exposed to this report experiencing “Extremely intense, paralysing fear”, which prevents them from moving. There are no other known memetic or anomalous effects during this state.

During the “active state” the object will begin to exhibit three new properties.

Firstly, SCP-6002-A will begin to swivel extremely quickly and uncontrollably of their own accord. Due to this, there is no angle that is considered safe to look at the object during this phase.

Secondarily, in addition to the immobility effect, the brain matter of anyone who looks at SCP-6002-A will begin to deteriorate rapidly and irreparably. Within 5 seconds of exposure, the subject will begin to experience signs of confusions and memory loss. Within 10 seconds of exposure, the level of damage will be comparable to Stage 5 Alzheimer's disease, being somewhat responsive but experiencing extreme confusions. Within 15 seconds of exposure, the damage will be comparable to stage 7 Alzheimer's disease, and the subject will be completely unresponsive to any stimuli, including visual, auditory, and pain response. Within 20 seconds of exposure, the subject will go into cardiac arrest and die within the next minute. For this reason, subjects exposed to the object during the active state either die, or are affected permanently and irreversibly.

Lastly, a powerful cognitohazardous effect will begin to be exhibited. Nearly anyone within a certain range of the object will have an irrepressible desire to destroy the object. This usually involved those affected running towards it as fast as possible, and attempting to punch or kick the object. This nearly always results in the subject looking at SCP-6002-A, causing their demise. No subjects to date have been able to prevent the effects through closing their eyes. It is unknown whether this is because of inability or lack of foresight.

The range of the cognitohazard is variable. The initial range is between 5 and 10 metres radius from the original object. However, every 90 seconds, the radius of effect will double.

effect at time of recovery, Central African Republic.
Note from Dr. ████: It would take a minimum of 33 minutes for the cognitohazard to spread to the entire known world. Due to this, the object was raised from Keneq to Ekhi disruption classification.

It has been observed that those who score extremely highly on the Cognitive Resistance Value test are able to resist the cognitohazardous effects. Thusly, Task Force Oscar-9B is comprised entirely of agents who have scored very high on those tests. However, they are in no way immune to the immobility and brain deterioration effects. This still means that recovery and recontainment is a significant challenge.

Addendum 6002-01-A - Recovery:

On February 16th, 20██, the Foundation received reports of anomalous findings regarding people being compelled to destroy an unknown object. A recovery team was dispatched to investigate. The object was traced to the town of ███. When agents arrived on the scene,

Addendum 6002-01-B - Incident Report

The object was stolen during a containment breach and then it was found but the cognitohazardous effect spread to a whole town before the foundation was alerted.
