SCP-XXXX "Cognitotub"
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard Foundation storage unit in Site-35. Access to SCP-XXXX by Research Personnel can be requested by contacting Dr. ██████ ███████. SCP-XXXX should remain disconnected from any water supply unless undergoing a monitored test. Due to the anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX, at least two (2) Researchers should be present when conducting any tests.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a late 19th century cast iron clawfoot bathtub, measuring 1.5m x 0.75m x 0.5m. It is fitted with a brass faucet with two white porcelain knobs, one labelled "Hot" and one labelled "Cold." SCP-XXXX also contains a brass drain cover, but no visible methods of stopping the flow of water out of the bottom of the bathtub.
Testing has revealed that despite the lack of a plug of any sort, water will not drain from SCP-XXXX as long as the faucet is turned on. Water will also not crest over the sides of SCP-XXXX while in this state. Testing has not determined where the supposed excess water goes. If water is manually removed from SCP-XXXX, it will fill back to previous levels, and the removed water exhibits no anomalous properties.
The hot and cold faucet knobs on SCP-XXXX seem to be capable of turning infinitely in one direction. The temperature of the water expelled by the faucet seems to also increase or decrease infinitely when the knobs are turned during testing. Testing has shown temperature readings from -████oC to █████oC. Research is ongoing to determine if SCP-XXXX can be used in the applied fields of █████████, ████████████, and ██████.
Human Subjects who enter SCP-XXXX experience a dangerous Cognitohazard which causes the subject to perceive the temperature of the water as just outside the level of comfort for bathing. Attempts by the subject to regulate temperature up or down appear futile. Subjects also become unaware of the physical effects of the water on their person, which can range from severe frostbite, 3rd degree burns, and [REDACTED]. Human testing of the anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX are hereby suspended.
