Item #: SCP-5128
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: The objects of SCP-5128 are deemed unpredictable and dangerous to anything biological. It is to be stored in a container with very high electrical resistance. SCP-5128 should never be handled by anyone with the exception of Class D personnel in the context of an experiment.
Description: SCP-5128 is a 6-pack of █████████ brand AAA size batteries that have seemingly impossible properties.
When the positive terminal of one of these batteries makes contact with an object, such as a metal wire or a human finger, the battery will send a single jolt of a high voltage and current (Values vary depending on resistance of object making contact). It acts as if it needs to release all of its charge at once, at levels far greater than the battery should be able to output.
When a similar object makes contact with the negative terminal, the opposite occurs. The battery will draw a charge from the object, which will get the charge from the ground, or if suspended in the air (as to avoid contact with the ground), the charge will travel through the air from the ground, comparable to a miniature lightning strike.
If both terminals are touched at the same time, the battery will push a current through the object out of its positive terminal which will travel through the object to return to the negative terminal. As this occurs, the voltage will increase exponentially as the current decreases exponentially, until the object is destroyed.
5 of the 6 batteries were observed to have these properties, with the 6th not being able to hold any charge at all.
Addendum: The 6 pack was purchased by a ████ ████████ in New York in 20██. When he opened the package, the batteries spilled onto his counter top. One of the batteries rolled into a metal object and sent a charge into it. The discharge knocked out all of the breakers in the house, and also knocked Mr. ████████ unconscious.
