Knock-Knock Joke
yes*Item #: SCP-5764

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Containment SCP-5746
SCP-5746 is to be kept in a large maze approximately 250x250 meters, every 3-5 meters a door that is completely unique from all other doors in the containment cell should be placed, this door will remain unlocked and when opened will not lead anywhere. SCP-5764’s short term memory means that it will never be able to find the same door again. SCP-5746 will be monitored with infrared sensors that are pre-installed in the enclosure to verify its presence at all times. Should SCP-5746 become frustrated and attempt to escape in a burst of energy, chlorine gas should be released to subdue it for the amount of time needed to repair any damage to the cell. Other than these rare cases, SCP-5746 should not harm its surroundings.

Description:
SCP-5746 appears to be humanoid and has been measured at 10 meters tall with its legs making up around 7 meters of its total height. Its arms are also exceptionally long, extending from the top of its torso to near the creature's three-pronged feet. SCP-5746 does not appear to put any pressure on the ground it walks over hence no footprints anywhere near site *redacted* and *redacted*. Based on further analyzation of both *redacted* households it has been determined that SCP-5674 chooses houses to target based on *redacted* with that knowledge it's fair to assume SCP-5764 memory is not exceptional and often resides in *redacted* near the houses in order to ensure it does not lose track of the house. SCP-5674 will begin its “events” by knocking on the door at seemingly random times once on the first day and one more progressing up to 9 on the 9th day. Each day no trace of SCP-5764 can be identified. when the targets inside the household open the door on the 9th day SCP-5764 is there waiting. The only account of what happens after the door is opened can be seen below.

Interview with victim 3-4 of SCP-5746

BEGIN LOG

Agent: What can you tell me about SCP, uh, 5746?
Woman: I didn’t see it directly. I just saw its back while it attempted to drag my husband and kids' bodies out of the house. One thing I noticed, in particular, was it's skinny, lengthy, arms. Then-
Agent: Okay, slow down. Did you get a sense of size for its arms?
Woman: They were unnaturally long, around 6-7 times the size of my arms
Agent: And how did this altercation begin?
Woman: I was at home making some food for the kids. My husband was tending to our small cornfield behind the house. That's when I heard the knocking. I went to the door and opened it, and nothing was there. At first, I thought it was my kids, messing around with me, but they were upstairs playing their video games. God, I miss them so much…
Agent: Can you please continue? Rest assured, you will be okay.
Woman: Yes. Well, there were no footsteps or sounds after. I dismissed the thought from my mind. I thought it could have just been my imagination. The next day, the same thing happened. A series of knocks. I walke-
Agent: Were the knocks in any way different sounding? Did they differ from the day before? Was there anything different about these knocks than before?
Woman: Well on the first day, there was only one knock. It sounded as normal as any other knock that you would’ve heard. The next day there were two knocks.
Agent: Did these knocks continuously go up in number per day?
Woman: Yes sir. This pattern continued until the last day, that being the ninth. I wasn’t going to answer this time. I knew better. But, my- my daughter- she opened the door. She screamed, but it ended quickly. She was taken out of the door and I heard something snap, I assume it was her… spine, judging by the fact I find it hard to believe it could accurately snap her um.. Neck. The same thing happened to my son. My husband rushed in, with his shotgun, but it was no use. He met the same fate.
Agent: Mhmm. You may continue with your description
Woman: Well, I ran to the kitchen and hid under the kitchen counter, and knocked over some bleach and ammonia, I think. I saw the creature's arms coming towards the cabinet I was hiding in through the gap between the stud and door as if it could see me with its arms. However, when they got to me, the creature froze and collapsed in front of the cabinet preventing me from getting out. I think that's when I fainted from the ummm… you said bleach and ammonia made chlorine gas?
Agent: Yes. We believe that is what made SCP-5764 incapacitated.
Woman: Okay, yeah that's what I thought. And then I guess I just woke up here.
Speaking of here, where am I? And what does SCP mean?
Agent: Irrelevant, you'll be debriefed by my accomplice here. *gestures towards agent *redacted*. SCP-5764 or as she likes to say “Knock-Knock Joke” is a, umm, passion project of hers.
