Special Containment Procedures: SCP- 5038 is to be kept in a 10-foot by 10-foot by 10-foot metal room with four cameras at the top corners of the room at Site ██. When entering SCP-5038's room, any person must have at least 50 grams of catnip open and must lay on the ground.
Cleaning of SCP-5038's room must be done 1 hour after SCP-5038 has produced feces of any size. Cleaning is performed by any person who has access level 3 or higher. Cleaning is done with a metal cat scooper and plastic gloves. Once feces is picked up and placed into the plastic gloves the person is to leave the containment room without scaring SCP-5038.
If containment breach is to occur, re-containment protocol is to have 4 nearby staff to have catnip on person and then be armed with a large animal control stick. The catnip is used in an attempt to calm down SCP-5038 with the poles to be applied around his neck. Any personnel inside of SCP-5038's range of 20 feet is to not remain inside for no more than 10 seconds in which they are instructed to escape and regroup for another attempt.
Description: SCP-5038 is a male common household tuxedo cat with grey fur pigmenting from his tail up his back to his head where it covers all of his face except his mouth, nose and the center between his eyes forming an arrow. The rest of his body where the fur is not grey is white. His measurements are unknown, but it is estimated to be around 3-feet long (from his head to his rear), 1-foot high, and 1-foot wide and his tail being 1-foot long. His eye color is a greenish hazel when not in his enraged state. SCP-5038 appears to not need to feed, but is shown to be consuming rats and birds which have appeared in its room by unknown means. It has proven to show the effects of either teleportation or material creation, see Addendum 1 and Addendum 4. SCP-5038 is shown to produce feces but not urinate, it will always produce feces 20-24 hours after consuming a rat or bird that it brings in.
SCP-5038 has the ability to create (or) teleport a bunk bed into its general area which is to be classified as SCP-5038-1. The bed is made of brown painted wood and has a thick white sheet and pillow on the top and bottom bunk.
SCP-5038 was discovered in Culver City, California on ██/██/████ at [Data expunshed]. Three shirts, pants, a pair of socks and shoes were found nearby where SCP-5038 was occupying. He was discovered to be laying on top of SCP-5038-1 on the bottom bunk in an alley. Containment was only possible after the use of SCP-████ to sedate SCP-5038.
When alone or when exposed to catnip, SCP-5038 will be docile and show instances of being a normal curious house cat. However, when catnip is not on person or SCP-5038 is startled, SCP-5038 will be in his enraged state.
When SCP-5038 is in his enraged state, he produces an anomalous effect making himself and his surrounding area of about 20 feet become intensely saturated in black and white. Any organism in this area is reported to start feeling a mild headache which soon escalates to become "a head-splitting headache" in 20 seconds after exposure. This effect is constant no matter the organism's distance to SCP-5038. The subjects will then have their vision to become distorted and blurry in these 20 seconds. After the 20 seconds of exposure, the subject then proceeds to melt from the head down to their feet. The melting process is reported to be even more painful than the headache prior and the event takes a total of 4 minutes. It has been found subjects in this melting process are still sentient until their whole body melts completely. See Addendum 2 and Addendum 3.
Incident: 5038-1: During the first week of SCP-5038's containing, his abilities were shown. In the first hour of his first containment at Site ██, SCP-5038 laid on the ground sleeping; once an hour has passed all way of viewing SCP-5038's room turned black and or static for 5 seconds before coming active. When the cameras re-activated a wooden bunk bed appeared in the back of SCP-5038's cell with SCP-5038 laying on top of the bottom bunk. This bed is classified as SCP-5038-1. It is still unknown whether SCP-5038 teleported this bed from another location or whether he created SCP-5038-1 by matter manipulation and creation. About 30 minutes of SCP-5038 laying and sleeping on top of SCP-5038-1, SCP-5038 hopped off and went underneath SCP-5038-1. There is no way of viewing SCP-5038 as no camera is positioned to view underneath SCP-5038-1. 5 minutes after, SCP-5038 came out with an alive medium-sized rat in his mouth where he proceeded to chew and play with for several hours before biting off its head and going back to sleep.
Note: Any future containment cell is to have cameras with infrared and night vision capabilities. They are to be placed 3 inches off the ground at the opposite corners of the room of SCP-5038-1 in an effort to view SCP-5038 from underneath SCP-5038-1. when SCP-5038 goes underneath SCP-5038-1 it is unknown whether it uses the underneath to teleport out or teleport things inside as shown when it brings out an alive rat.
Experiment: 5038-1: D class ██ was sent into SCP-5038's cell on █/██/████ to gain more information on its abilities along with cleaning his feces. The D class is sent in with a small paper towel roll and a plastic animal litter scooper. The moment D class entered the cell SCP-5038 poked his head out from under SCP-5038-1 and his second abilities were shown. The entire cell quickly turned a saturated black and white and the cameras were barely able to pick up what was happening in the cell due to the amount of static they were receiving back. The intercom to the room is turned on.
"What is going on in there!"
"I don't know! Everything just lost its color… My head kinda hurts"
SCP-5038 remained under SCP-5038-1 not moving and keeping eye contact with the D class.
10 seconds pass and during that time, the D class moves toward the feces near SCP-5038-1.
"Oh fuck, oh fuck oh fuck, AHH!"
"What's wrong?!"
"Oh god it hurts, my Fucking head ahh!"
The D class begins to grab the top of his head and begins to flail his body around in pain. 10 seconds pass as his screams becoming louder and movements increase in an attempt to stop the pain.
"AAHHH!"
The top of the D class's head slowly begins to melt with the screams and movement not stopping. Eventually, the melting consumed his whole head with nothing left, however even with his head gone the D class continued to move his body and arms in pain. His arms tried to grab where the top of is head should have been but instead kept grasping at the air. After 4 minutes the melting concluded and all that was the D class's clothing, the scooper, and the roll of paper towels that was now on the floor absorbing the liquid that was the D class. The black and white effects finally concluded and the coloring of the area returned to normal along with the camera feedback with SCP-5038 now coming out from underneath SCP-5038-1 and jumped on top of it to lay down and sleep. After about 30 minutes the liquid that was the D class slowly evaporated into nothing.
Note: It appears SCP-5038 has another aggressive ability. When any subject gets into the view of SCP-5038's view, the surrounding area will then turn a saturated black and white and gives any subjecting the area a headache that starts to be minor and progresses into becoming extremely painful. After this, which appears to take 20 seconds, the subject will start to melt from the head down in 4 minutes with the subject remaining conscious as shown with the movements. The feces and other objects remain in the cell.
Experiment: 5038-2: In another attempt to clean the feces from the previous experiment, along with the new feces and objects, D class ████ is sent in with a pair of plastic gloves and a 50-gram bag of catnip. SCP-5038 was ontop of SCP-5038-1 on the bottom bunk and once the door was opened, SCP-5038 was alarmed and ran under SCP-5038-1 and poked his head out. The D class enters the room and before entering is ordered to move slowly low to the ground and have the bag of catnip open. The D class follows these orders and once entering the room the black and white effects being, however, it appears SCP-5038 has smelled the open bag of catnip and the black and white effects abruptly end. The D class sits down on the floor with his legs crossed and shows no sign of fear or questioning what has just transpired. SCP-5038 slowly walks up to the D class and after smelling the bag up close proceeds to rub the side of the D class's leg with his head and teeth. The D class sprinkles the catnip on the floor and SCP-5038 proceeds to roll in it. The D class then speaks.
"Hm…I'll call you Shinx"
The intercom turns on.
"Go pick up the scooper, the clothes, and the feces"
The D class complies and slowly raises to go pick up the objects. After 3 minutes the picked up everything with the extra clothes on his shoulder, the paper towel and scooper in his left hand and the feces and dead rat in his right plastic glove. SCP-5038 Is still rolling round in the catnip oblivious to the D class's actions. As the D class makes his way to the door he steps on SCP-5038's tail, most likely by accident, and SCP-5038 screeches, and freaks out in pain. His black and white effect suddenly activates and the D class raises his foot off of SCP-5038's where he then runs around the cell room at speeds of approximately 20 mph. SCP-5038 then runs toward the door and bashes through it with no issue or signs of pain other than from his tail being stepped on. SCP-5038 has escaped containment. Recontainment took an hour and with the assistance of SCP-████ and the death of 3 staff members and 1 scientist in an attempt to contain it.
Note: SCP-5038 appears to be docile when exposed to catnip. When injured SCP-5038 shows no physical pain on its body, but still reacts in pain such as getting its tail stepped on. However, when showing signs of pain any other pain is not shown as shown when running through a metal door.
Experiment: 5038-3: After the previous containment breach, SCP-5038 is transported to a new containment cell with cameras with infrared and night vision capabilities and is placed at high corners of the room and 3 inches above the floor. The room also has a two-way soundproof mirror 3 inches thick next to the entrance door to the room to allow a non-camera view without disturbing SCP-5038. SCP-5038 is placed into the empty room and walks around. After 15 minutes of this, all cameras and sensors went dark and static with the two scientists behind the two-way mirror reporting that their eyesight turned black. After this 15 seconds of darkness, SCP-5038-1 appeared at the back of the room opposite to the door entrance with the same look and design as it had in its previous cell. SCP-5038 went underneath SCP-5038-1 and after 15 minutes of being under it, came out with a shoe and placed it slightly outside of underneath SCP-5038-1. The scientist behind the mirror never recovered their eyesight back. SCP-5038-1 from the previous cell was inspected after this event and was found to have been a normal bunk bed with no anomalous properties. Any observation from underneath SCP-5038-1 by any means only shows a black abyss with no life underneath.
Note: SCP-5038-1 appears to have most likely been created by matter manipulation as the likeness of teleporting a bunk bed of the same design is unlikely. When a new SCP-5038-1 is formed, the previous SCP-5038 loses its anomalous properties as it can now be viewed underneath. Any current active SCP-5038-1 cannot be viewed from underneath by any means and will only show darkness. The question of whether SCP-5038 teleports things or itself inside or out from underneath SCP-5038 is still not answered as due to no camera or device being able to track or detect SCP-5038 from underneath SCP-5038-1. Any current cell is to no longer have cameras 3 inches above the ground as it now deemed unnecessary.
