Object Class: Safe
Containment Procedures:
SCP-xxxx should be contained in a standard containment unit at Site-10. This safe may be stored wherever it is convenient for Site Operators. A complete record of tests performed with SCP-xxxx, as well as the illustrations produced by these tests, should be kept in a standard file folder, nearby or within SCP-xxxx's containment unit.
Description:
SCP-xxxx is a standard wooden #2 pencil, approximately six inches in length, with glossy blue paint on the exterior of the shaft. It lacks a ferule and rubber eraser, though marks in the paint indicate one was previously present. Gold lettering on the pencil reads "SUBS-TANDARD #2". Subjects have described the pencil as "cheap-feeling".
SCP-xxxx's effect will not occur until the subject attempts to write or draw with it. The effect occurs no matter the medium the subject is attempting to write upon, even if it is not compatible with a pencil, such as metal or glass.
Upon trying to use SCP-xxxx, the subject will appear to "zone out" and enter a brief period of relaxation. Regardless of instruction or previous intents, the subject will draw a thin humanoid figure with a circular head, one eye, four horns, wearing a long cloak. Except for the head and horns, the figure's skin is darkly colored.
The figure's pose, facial expression, and other details vary between subjects and specific illustrations. Overall quality of the image produced is consistent with the subject's artistic talents, as is the level of detail, proportions, and other stylistic decisions. The subject will not draw any environment or background within the illustration, only the figure.
Upon completion of one figure, the subject will begin drawing another figure, typically with different pose and expressions, although all other artistic qualities remain consistent. These figures never intersect or overlap, and are never any closer than one inch to each other. Any text or illustrations applied to the paper prior to testing will be ignored by subject, who will proceed to draw over it.
This will continue indefinitely until the subject is becomes aware of what they are doing or runs out of room on the paper. Upon being stopped, the subject cannot recall what they were initially supposed to write down.
What or who this figure is a representation of remains unclear. All subjects report having never seen the figure before, and when asked cannot even recall what they were thinking at the time of drawing.
SCP-xxxx was recovered from ████████, Texas, having been found by a █████ Anderson. He reported finding it in his high school parking lot, while leaving the campus on 1/27/19██, after which he returned to his house. After attempting to use the pencil and subsequently panicking, his parents took him to the emergency room, believing he was suffering some sort of delusion. After receiving notification of this incident, Foundation officers recovered SC-xxxx and Mr. Anderson's illustrations from the hospital, and Class-A amnesiacs were administered to the Anderson family and the doctors that assessed Mr. Anderson.
15 tests have been performed using SCP-xxxx, 3 of which are recorded here.
