Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Foundation web crawler LUXURY-SUITE is to flag and track mainstream search engine users who frequently search terms related to poker and other betting style card games. Should any searches involving specific years and the term ‘Poker Tricks’ occur, LUXURY-SUITE is to immediately short their connection. Should SCP-XXXX be activated by one of these flagged individuals, they are to be immediately removed from the list of flagged individuals as any attempt at intervention after the activation point thus far has failed.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an event which takes place after any human individual uses a mainstream, traceable search engine to search the term ‘Illegal Poker Tricks 1988.’ Should the individual use a VPN or otherwise mask their IP address, the search will show no results. If their IP address is not masked or otherwise obscufated, the search results will appear as normal, but almost all affected describe the sensation of breath on the back of their neck, although this varies from person to person. For the following period of 24-48 hours, all effected individuals will become paranoid and refuse to be in a space where there is no outside surveillance (Guards, security cameras, etc). Should an affected individual enter an area that does not meet these requirements they disappear after a 24 hour period.
Addendum-XXXX-1:
Incident-XXXX-1-A
Subject D-102368 has been placed in a standard human containment cell. D-102368 has been instructed to activate the anomaly. Every four hours, D-102368 is to receive an emotional check in from Dr. Wallace to assess the psychological effects of SCP-XXXX over a period of time longer than 24 hours. The room is to remain monitored by audiovideo surveillance at all times. Every six hours, D-102368 is to be provided with a meal.
After action note: Prior to this experiment, it was assumed that the anomaly would not effect any individual outside the view of a camera.
D-102368 is to be provided with the following materials:
(1) functioning computer connected to the internet
(1) desk on which said computer has been placed
(1) Bed with sheets and a pillow
(1) Chair
(1) Toilet
Evaluation I: 4 Hours post activation.
Recording begins
Dr. Wallace: How are you feeling, D-102368?
D-102368: Bad. Can you guys have a guard in here?
Dr. Wallace: There are several guards outside the cell. You’re perfectly safe.
D-102368: Doc, there’s something in here. What are they gonna do from outside the cell?
Dr. Wallace: Elaborate on that.
D-102368: I keep feeling hot air. Do you know how cold you people keep these cells? It could be the middle of august in a heatwave and I’d be freezing my balls off in my cell. And now I’m feeling brushes of warm air. Fuck that. Something is breathing on me. If you won’t send a guard in, give me a fucking gun.
Dr. Wallace: I don’t think that’s necessary, D-102368. I’ll ask if they’ll check for heat signatures, but I doubt they’d share your paranoia.
D-102368: Yeah, while I’m asking for things I won’t get, can I get some smokes? You can say in the document it’s for ‘psychological reasons.’ (Laughs)
Dr. Wallace: This review is terminated.
Recording ends. D-102368’s requests were denied.
Evaluation II: 8 hours since activation
Dr. Wallace: How are you feeling, D-102368? You look uncomfortable.
D-102368: Send a guard in. (Glancing over shoulder) Something touched me an hour ago. I can fucking tell it’s here.
Dr. Wallace: You felt physical contact?
D-102368: I was on the computer, and-
Dr. Wallace: We’re aware. Your search results show you were trying to download a video conferencing application, which is, of course, against-
D-102368: I’ve got people, okay? I’ve got people I wanted to talk to. On the outside. I wasn’t trying to break out.
Dr. Wallace: D-102368. Don’t cut me off. We’re going to disable the WiFi on the computer.
D-102368: Oh fuck off. You people are useless.
Dr. Wallace: This review is conc-
D-102368: Wait! I didn’t get a chance to tell you what happened.
Dr. Wallace: D-1023-
D-102368: A video opened up. Without me searching it. Some fucking poker tournament. The film was all grainy and shit. Please, just check the security footage. Please.
Recording ends. Security footage confirms that a video hosted on Youtube opened without D-102368’s prompting. Search history on D-102368’s computer confirms that a video ‘Johnny Chan vs. Eric Seidel 1988 WSOP Finale’ was searched and opened. D-102368 denies intentionally searching the video at any point. (Link) Shortly after this interview, Dr. Wallace requested to have another doctor interview in his place citing difficulty remaining clinically distanced. However, he later withdrew this request.
Note: This section of documentation was made prior to SCP-XXXX-1’s entry to the facility. The footage referenced here has been erased along with much of Site-45’s previously saved footage.
Evaluation III: 12 Hours post activation.
Dr. Wallace: How are you- Where is your shirt?
D-102368: Too hot in here. Aren’t you uncomfortable?
Dr. Wallace: Not particularly, no.
D-102368: ‘Course.
Silence.
D-102368: Am I going to die?
Dr. Wallace: Unlikely. There are several armed guards outside, as I’ve stated in the past.
D-102368: You didn’t say no.
Dr. Wallace: I did not.
Another silence.
Dr. Wallace: Can you give me an assessment of how you’re feeling?
D-102368: Hot. Twitchy. I keep jumping at shadows. I feel like someone’s breathing down my neck all the time.
Dr. Wallace: Elaborate on that.
D-102368: What do you want me to say? I feel like I’m about to be killed. I’m going to die alone in this little grey room, and the only evidence I ever even existed is going to be a recording that nobody will ever listen to.
Dr. Wallace: Despite ample security, you still feel threatened?
D-102368: Are you even listening to me? I just said I feel like I’m going to die. I’ve heard rumours about these types of things. You put us in these tests knowing full well we’ll be taken to pieces by the end of it, and then you have the audacity to tell me I’m safe?
Dr. Wallace: That’s all I needed to hear. This review is concluded.
Two hours after this interview, several cameras on the westernmost exterior of the section of Site-45’s offshore platform were compromised through an unknown, likely anomalous method. Replays of the captured footage initially showed nothing other than the movement of the ocean, but closer observation revealed that the camera had somehow been tampered with to display a fifteen minute clip of waves passing on repeat. It is now assumed that this was the point where an unknown entity (Henceforth referred to as SCP-XXXX-1) entered the facility. Several other cameras were effectively disabled using a similar method in hallways leading into the helipad. At the time, MTF Zeta-9 (“Mole Rats”) was positioned in Site 45’s offshore platform, staging operations to establish permanent containment of the nearby SCP-████. SCP-XXXX-1 (presumably) moved through the platform disabling any cameras it passed using the aforementioned method and sabotaging much of MTF Zeta-9’s equipment and almost every on site vehicle. Additionally, several members of the MTF were found missing after the breach, assumably KIA. Any members of the MTF which would have crossed paths with SCP-XXXX-1 would have been grossly ill-equiped to combat it, even if they had ample time to equip themselves. It is not known if sections of the footage captured by security cameras had been erased by SCP-XXXX-1, but provided the entity does not have some form of non-anomalous cloaking ability, that would seem to be the most reasonable explanation. Due to the reality anchor within the offshore platform, any anomalous ability possessed by SCP-XXXX-1 was not used in it’s early attack on the site, or, failing that, was greatly suppressed. The security camera near the platform’s elevator into the heart of Site-45 began playing a fifteen minute loop of footage of the nearby hallway roughly one hour after the first cameras became tampered with, meaning that the earliest and most obviously destructive portion of it’s assault took place over the course of one hour. It is also worth noting that the most dangerous facets of SCP-XXXX have not become evident this quickly in all previous field reports.
Evaluation IV: 16 hours after activation.
Recording begins
Dr. Wallace: So, how are you feeling now D-102368? I see you’ve put your shirt back on.
D-102368: It got cold again. I feel terrible. Doc, I think we’re in a lot of danger right now.
Dr. Wallace: ‘We’? Do you feel more on edge?
D-102368: Yes. Much worse.
Dr. Wallace: Why?
D-102368: I’ve felt like something’s going to jump out from behind me any second for hours. Then it just stopped. If you felt like something was behind you for nearly a whole day, and then you felt like it had just gone away, wouldn’t you be scared where it was now?
Dr. Wallace: I suppose.
D-102368: Listen. I’m a reasonable person. So I’m going to be reasonable with you. If you knew how I felt right now you would run.
Dr. Wallace: I don’t think that’ll be happening.
D-102368: Do you have kids?
Dr. Wallace: That’s not necessary for me to tell you.
D-102368: If you have a family, run for their sakes. I would if I could.
Silence.
Dr. Wallace: This evaluation is concluded.
Thirty minutes after this interview, an explosive activated in the heart of the offshore platform, disabling and permanently destroying the reality anchor within. Five minutes after that, hume monitoring equipment showed an enormous spike coming from a janitorial closet. All telecommunications made to Site-45 would continuously repeat an audio-cognitohazard until connection was severed or lost. Several SCiPnet accounts linked to on site personnel began mass sending off-site personnel cognitohazardous images. To prevent casualties, a Foundation wide notice to ignore any communication from Site-45 was made across SCIPnet. It was assumed by the O5 command that the already on-site MTF team would stop the breach, or, failing that, evacuate and signal for help. After action testimony confirms there was an attempt by the remaining members of MTF Zeta-9 to evacuate personnel from Site-45 using the helicopters stored in the on deck helipad. However, once the helicopter reached a height of 1000 feet, a previously unnoticed explosive triggered, resulting in 11 casualties. The few remaining members of the MTF, trapped on a rapidly burning platform with no reliable safe routes of escape, elected to move themselves and any personnel along with rations for several days with them onto an engineless inflatable life raft which one member of the remaining unit kept in his kit. The raft was holding around thirty personnel at the time of departure- much more than its intended carrying capacity. Shortly after this, it is believed that SCP-XXXX-1 began making its way to D-102368’s cell.
The following recording, alongside the emotional evaluations recorded by Dr. Wallace was found stored on a cassette tape in wing C of the site, near where D-102368’s cell was located.
Recording begins.
D-102368: (Whispering) This is Roger Pendleton Scotts, otherwise known as D-102368 by the foundat-
Several popping sounds, followed by the sound of rapidly rushing air interrupt D-102368.
D-102368: Fuck! Look, just tell my sister and my mom I love them. I’m putting this tape recorder in my pocket and hoping you people find it. It’s about to come in.
There is a rustling sound, followed by a creaking metallic sound- likely the door of D-102368’s cell being forced open, followed by echoing footsteps.
Silence for fifteen seconds.
SCP-XXXX-1: I can hear you breathing.
The sound of footsteps drawing closer can be heard, followed by sounds of a struggle and then the sound of zipties being secured.
D-102368: Wait, do-
D-102368 screams. The sound of electricity can be heard.
SCP-XXXX-1: You stupid inbred criminal fuck, hiding down under a bed in a massive fucking foundation facility. That’s fucking cheating.
SCP-XXXX-1 can be heard striking D-102368 with a cudgel of some type.
SCP-XXXX-1: When Johnny told me where you were hiding, I almost said no. Do you know how expensive this beating is? Do you have any idea how much I'm being paid to do this?
SCP-XXXX-1 continues to assault D-102368 for about three minutes.
SCP-XXXX-1: You better be able to walk.
D-102368: (Mumbling) I can.
SCP-XXXX-1: Huh? What was that?
D-102368: I said I can wa-
Another striking sound.
SCP-XXXX-1: Don’t talk. Walk.
The sound of footsteps can be heard for 5 minutes. Somewhere near the elevator to the offshore platform, A thru D-Block Security Chief Cpt. Jean-Baptiste Cousteau attempted to neutralize or contain SCP-XXXX-1 before it could move D-102368 to the surface. The transcript of this altercation is below:
Cpt. Cousteau: (Shouting) Stop!
D-102368: Oh shi-
A thudding sound is heard, likely D-102368 colliding with a wall. Several gunshots can be heard, alongside SCP-XXXX-1 screaming. The sound of D-102368 fleeing from the conflict is audible as the gunshots become more distant, but stop after a popping sound followed by a sharp rush of air. As D-102368 runs, another set of running footsteps can be heard drawing closer.
D-102368: (Breathlessly shouting) It’s nearly six feet tall, and is wearing some kind of black armor that shrugs off bullets! His gun makes people disappear! He’s got some kind of-
The sound of D-102368 being tackled to the ground is audible, followed by the sound of drawing metal and a wet, puncturing sound. SCP-XXXX-1 can be heard panting.
SCP-XXXX-1: Fucker. Nobody is going to hear you shout. Serves you right, kicking me over like that. Cheating cunt.
SCP-XXXX-1’s footsteps can be heard growing softer and more distant. A beeping sound similar to a cellular phone can be heard.
SCP-XXXX-1: (Distantly) Hey, Johnny. I couldn’t get him to the surface for the warp, but I made sure he’s done. Yes, I know you wanted him alive. No…
SCP-XXXX-1’s speaking becomes too distant to hear. Some time passes wherein the sound of D-102368's breathing is the only sound audible.
D-102368: (Straining to speak) M-m-mom. L-Lily. I loved you. I love you.
Silence.
The recording continues until there is no tape left.
New changes are marked in blue.

Should an affected individual enter an area that does not meet these requirements they disappear after a 24 hour period. After 24-16 hours, any affected individual will be abducted or killed by an entity hereby referred to as SCP-XXXX-1.
Due to the heroic actions of D-102368 and several other brave personnel, a truer understanding of SCP-XXXX-1’s actual identity and abilities was reached. Previous Foundation intelligence and documentation alongside the new information brought to light during Incident-XXXX-1-A.
SCP-XXXX-1 is all but certainly POI-3672 (“██████ ██████”) given cross checking of the voice heard in D-102368’s final recording as well as the description of his anomalous equipment and appearance. Continuing efforts to locate and apprehend SCP-XXXX-1 are ongoing.
Much of the abnormalities in SCP-XXXX-1’s assault on Site-45 can be accredited to D-102368 being highly guarded in his cell. Evidence from previous abductions by SCP-XXXX-1 prove that most of his targets are taken via some as of yet unknown method of teleportation, which would have been impossible given the on-site reality anchor. Additionally, SCP-XXXX-1’s method of teleportation likely requires open air above it, which would explain the entity's insistence on returning to the surface once it had secured D-102368.
Johnny Chan, winner of the 1988 Poker world series has been retroactively designated a POI as a direct result of comments made by SCP-XXXX-1. It is likely that some form of tampering, anomalous or otherwise has occurred during the 1988 Poker world series. Mr. Chan’s home in Las Vegas, Nevada was raided by foundation agents.
Mr. Chan or any of his relatives have yet to be located.
A highly edited version of D-102368’s final recording given the cover story of a prison riot was given to his family. His final sentiments to his sister and mother were left unedited. He and the late Cpt. Cousteau were both awarded the Foundation Star posthumously. Only two D-class personnel have been given the Star, and both were granted after their deaths.
