Special Containment Procedures: SCP-xxxx is to be held in 10 centimeter tall glass case placed upon a wooden pedestal. The case is to be held in a cell around the size of a solitary confinement cell in most prisons. SCP-xxxx is not to be taken out of the glass case unless given as a direct order.
After the incident at Site-██ there is to be no air-conditioning within the containment chamber of SCP-xxx or any room directly next to it.
Description: SCP-xxxx takes the form of a replica Victorian wax candle placed upon a golden candle stick. The wax never seems to melt keeping the flame burning infinitely unless there is a physical interference. However even if the flame stops burning it always reignite after approximately 30 minutes. After the incident at Site-██ if the flame on SCP-xxxx ever stops burning it is to be reported immediately.
Whenever someone picks up SCP-xxxx the person is attacked by entities named SCP-xxxx-2 invisible to anyone except the subject. Instances of SCP-xxxx-2 are described to be humanoid creatures comprised entirely of a blinding light.
Instances of SCP-xxxx-2 are extremely hostile to the subject and will attack without warning. Instances of SCP-xxxx-2 are known to have extraordinary feats of strength and speed when attacking subjects. The attacks of SCP-xxxx-2 are known to be feral and will maul subjects showing extreme brutality in the attacks. However, if the subject lets go of the candle before being killed all instances of SCP-xxxx-2 will disappear. All other exempts of escape have resulted in the death of the subject. If the candle is snuffed out by any biological lifeform an instance of SCP-xxxx-2 will appear into vision and attack the subject. There is no documented way of surviving the instance of SCP-xxxx-2 in this scenario.
After the incident at Site-██ if the candle is snuffed out by any means except by biological lifeforms staff are to declare a breach of containment and to flee immediately and to wait until the candle reignites. After the candle reignites everything is to go back to normal operations.
Addendum: Discovery
SCP-xxxx was discovered in the town of █████ on ██-█-█████ in the house of a 64 year old man named █████ . He was found dead on the floor to do severe wound similar to those of victims of bear attacks. The foundation sent a recovery team to the site immediately and SCP-xxxx was quickly identified after the death of a recovery team personal.
After foundation investigation the seller of SCP-xxxx was quickly identified and shut down. The foundation issued a cover up story that stated the company filed for bankruptcy.
Addendum: Martin Smith
Martin Smith is the former owner of ██████ the seller of SCP-xxxx. His body was found in his residence in █████ dead on the floor due to multiple deep cuts on his risk and wounds similar to victims of instances of SCP-xxxx-2. On a desk close to his body was a leather bound journal. What follows next is the last entry of the journal.
“I can’t make them go away, the monsters that plague my waking hours shall never cease. Creatures of blinding light just sit and stare at me doing nothing. I know what I must do, I shall cut my wrists and spill my blood over a lit candle. Maybe they will except a blood sacrifice I just don’t know anymore.”
Addendum: Site-██ Incident
On ██-█-█████ after an unnoticed crack in the glass case of SCP-xxxx caused the glass to break allowing air from the air conditioner to flow in the flame atop SCP-xxxx was snuffed out. Immediately an instance of SCP-xxxx-2 appeared visible to everyone appeared and tore open the door killing all staff observing SCP-xxxx. The result was complete pandemonium as the instance of SCP-xxxx-2 ravaged the facility however after 30 minutes the instance of SCP-xxxx-2 disappeared.
