A Chevrolet Corvette, painted K-439. The image's hue has been adjusted to remove all K-439.
Temporary Item Designation: K-439
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: All objects partially or completely K-439 in color are to be destroyed or stored in a guarded warehouse on Site-17. Objects partially or completely K-439 in color are to remain covered at all times, are only to be transported by hand, are to be kept no less than 10 meters from any mechanical apparatus, and are not to be viewed without tinted goggles. Photographs of these objects are to be edited to remove or alter the color of any and all K-439 sections. Under no circumstances are any mechanical apparatus to be painted K-439, in part or completely, except under controlled testing conditions. The painted objects are then to be dismantled and their K-439 parts stored as described above.
All personnel exposed to or suspected to have been exposed to K-439 are to submit themselves for mandatory weekly reflex testing until such time as their reaction time has been within the acceptable benchmark for three consecutive weeks.
The Foundation has deployed sniffer programs to detect colors in the K-439 range in images posted on the internet and delete or alter the images. Similar protocols have been embedded in most government and private imaging satellites to prevent K-439 objects from displaying in photographs taken by these satellites. In the event of a new K-439 object being discovered, Mobile Task Force MTF-Nu-10 ("Living Colors") are to be dispatched to its location, recover the object, and amnesticize all witnesses.
Description: K-439 is a range of colors between hex code #fa61██ and hex code #fa62██. Five distinct shades of K-439 have been discovered, each with the same anomalous properties. In all cases, when a mechanical apparatus is painted K-439 or placed in close proximity to an object that is K-439 in color, the moving parts of the object have been observed to move much more quickly and with less resistance as compared to an identical unpainted object not in the presence of K-439. In other words, K-439 appears to act as a form of immaterial lubrication.
K-439's effect on humans and other animals capable of perceiving it is much more pronounced. In cases of direct visual exposure, all subjects were noted to experience a marked increase in reaction time, the severity of which was found to be directly proportional to length of exposure and inversely proportional to the amount of time that has passed since the subject's last exposure.
K-439 first came to the Foundation's attention when an unusually high amount of traffic accidents occurred following an auto show in █████, IL. The vehicle pictured above was believed to be the cause until a similar event occurred nine days later in █████████, PA, and a third occurred three days after that in █████, NY. The second event was eventually found to have been caused by a graffiti mural which used two shades of K-439. The third event occurred following a [DATA REDACTED] and resulted in ██ accidental deaths, with ███ more seriously injured.
Paralithodes californiensis. Dr. █████ ██████████ listed it among the many forms taken by K-443 when he observed it, except, in his words, "it was [REDACTED], and had [REDACTED] legs."
Temporary Item Designation: K-443
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: K-443 is to be kept in a 5 square kilometer enclosure at Site-█. Personnel are not to enter this enclosure, and all imaging satellites are to be prevented from viewing the enclosure. Low Orbital Satellite LOS-3-Alpha ("Blind Eye") is to maintain orbit directly over this enclosure. LOS-3-Alpha is equipped with spectrometers calibrated for low-intensity gamma radiation, but it is not equipped with imaging equipment. In the event that LOS-3-Alpha detects a containment breach by K-443, Mobile Task Force MTF-Xi-20 ("Overcast") is to be deployed to recover K-443, with LOS-3-Alpha acting as support. As of Incident K-443-██/02/20██, all non-redacted archived descriptions of K-443 are to have specific identifying details removed following any containment breach by K-443.
Description: K-443 is a humanoid, animal, inanimate object, species, [REDACTED] or concept. Further details of former and current appearances of K-443 have been expunged to prevent a containment breach. K-443 constantly emits low-intensity gamma radiation. This radiation is fatal without proper protection, but is usually only harmful to humans within 5 meters of K-443.
K-443 has been observed to rapidly change its appearance at will when being observed by one or more people, animals, or cameras (hereafter referred to as subjects). Accounts of these changes have often varied between subjects. When a greater number of subjects begin observing K-443 simultaneously, there is a risk that its secondary effect will activate.
A distribution curve of the minimum number of subjects required to activate K-443's secondary effect.
Once the number of subjects observing K-443 increases enough to activate its secondary effect, K-443 will disappear from its current location and reappear at a seemingly random location. This disappearance and reappearance does not have a fixed or even finite range (although K-443 has always reappeared on Earth). For example, K-443 once breached containment and was re-acquired at a point 1,074 kilometers away from ███████, Australia. On another occasion, K-443 was thought to have breached containment, but simply reappeared 50 meters away, still within its enclosure. The number of subjects necessary to activate K-443's secondary effect is also inconsistent. K-443's secondary effect has activated with as few as three and as many as 47 subjects. The distance between the location of disappearance and the location of reappearance does not appear to have any correlation with the number of subjects observing K-443 at the time of activation.

Temporary Item Designation: T-460
Object Class: Thaumiel
Special Containment Procedures: T-460-A and T-460-B are to be kept in separate blast-proof containers in Site Director █████ ██████'s office. Both containers are equipped with biometric locks coded to Site Director ██████.
⠀
Protocol Albatross-5: Protocol Albatross-5 is a contingency for the neutralization of Ekhi- or Amida-class threats through the use of T-460. Protocol Albatross-5 is only to be put into effect when all other approved countermeasures for Ekhi- or Amida-class threats (including Protocol Albatross-4) have proven unsuccessful.
In the event that Protocol Albatross-5 is put into effect, Site Director ██████ is to become T-460-A-1, and a new site director is to be appointed. The threat is to become T-460-B-1 and be given the order to self-terminate or submit itself for termination, after which, T-460-A and T-460-B may be removed from T-460-A-1 and T-460-B-1, respectively.
If termination of T-460-B-1 is not possible, T-460-B-1 is to be contained in a manner appropriate for its nature. T-460-A-1 is then to remain under the protection of Stationary Task Force STF-Omega-80 ("We Band of Brothers") for the remainder of its life. When T-460-A-1 dies, T-460-A is to be returned to the current site director.
⠀
Description: T-460 consists of a pair of gold wedding bands (hereafter referred to as T-460-A and T-460-B), both bearing an inscription on the inside of the band. T-460-A's inscription reads "DOMINUS", and T-460-B's inscription reads "SERVUS". When T-460-B is worn by an individual (hereafter referred to as T-460-B-1) that individual becomes completely subservient to any individual (hereafter referred to as T-460-A-1) wearing T-460-A. T-460-B-1 is incapable of intentionally harming T-460-A-1 and will follow any order given to it by T-460-A-1, if it is possible for T-460-B-1 to carry out that order.
⠀
Experiment Log T-460-01a
Subjects: Dr. █████ ██, D-Class D-8936
Procedure: Dr. ██ became T-460-A-1. D-8936 became T-460-B-1. T-460-A-1 instructed T-460-B-1 to translate a given English phrase into Russian.
Results: T-460-B-1 did not respond.
Notes: D-8936's personnel file indicates that he does not know Russian, implying that T-460-B-1 cannot be forced to do actions that are impossible for it.
Experiment Log T-460-01b
Subjects: Dr. █████ ██, D-Class D-8936
Procedure: Direct continuation of Experiment T-460-01a. T-460-A-1 instructed T-460-B-1 to remove T-460-B.
Results: T-460-B-1 successfully removed T-460-B. D-8936 had no memory of being ordered to remove T-460-B or of what he was asked to do during Experiment T-460-01a.
Notes: Removal of T-460-B is not considered an impossible action for T-460-B-1. Additionally, memories of being T-460-B-1 do not persist when T-460-B-1 ceases to be T-460-B-1.
Experiment Log T-460-05
Subjects: D-Class D-8936, D-Class D-13540
Procedure: D-8936 became T-460-A-1. D-13540 became T-460-B-1. T-460-B-1 given a knife. T-460-A-1 instructed T-460-B-1 to attempt to stab T-460-A-1.
Results: T-460-B-1 assumed an aggressive stance, then relaxed.
Notes: T-460-B-1 cannot harm T-460-A-1, even on the latter's orders.
Experiment Log T-460-09
Subjects: Dr. █████ ██████, D-Class D-8936
Procedure: Test conducted in a room with no available weapons. Dr. ██████ became T-460-A-1. D-8936 became T-460-B-1. T-460-A-1 instructed T-460-B-1 to kill itself.
Results: T-460-B-1 bludgeoned itself to death by repeatedly slamming its head against a wall.
Notes: T-460 can override human self-preservation instincts. In my experience, even most actually suicidal individuals can't force themselves to commit suicide via self-inflicted blunt force trauma. Those who attempt it usually give up after the first blow.
Experiment Log T-460-11a
Subjects: Dr. █████ ██, D-Class D-13540
Procedure: Dr. ██ became T-460-A-1. D-13540 became T-460-B-1. T-460-A-1 instructed T-460-B-1 to disregard its next order. T-460-A-1 instructed T-460-B-1 to remove T-460-B.
Results: T-460-B-1 did not respond to the order to remove T-460-B.
Notes: Results suggest T-460-B-1 prioritizes orders chronologically. Presumably, T-460-B-1 could be prevented from performing any given action it is ordered to perform at any future time by simply ordering it to ignore those orders.
Experiment Log T-460-11b
Subjects: Dr. █████ ██, D-Class D-13540
Procedure: Continuation of Experiment T-460-11a. T-460-B-1 was given a knife. T-460-A-1 instructed T-460-B-1 to make shallow cuts in its own wrists until told to stop. After 30 seconds, T-460-A-1 removed T-460-A.
Results: T-460-B-1 began cutting its own wrists as ordered. After T-460-A-1 removed T-460-A, T-460-B-1 became visibly agitated and demanded to know what Dr. ██ had done to it. T-460-B-1 attacked Dr. ██ with the knife and was terminated by security staff.
Notes: At the moment of removal of T-460-A, T-460-A-1 is no longer T-460-A-1, and T-460-B-1 is no longer subject to T-460-A-1's commands, including long-term commands.
Experiment Log T-460-13
Subjects: D-Class D-3547, D-Class D-9903
Procedure: D-3547 became T-460-A-1. D-9903 became T-460-B-1. T-460-A-1 instructed T-460-B-1 to copy the contents of a book of poetry. After 30 seconds, T-460-A-1 was terminated.
Results: T-460-B-1 stopped complying with T-460-A-1's order and became visibly agitated at the sight of its body. T-460-B-1 displayed no awareness of what it had been made to do.
Notes: The death of T-460-A-1, like the removal of T-460-A, aborts any long-term commands in effect.
Experiment Log T-460-19: Cross-test with SCP-2599
Subjects: Dr. █████ ██████, SCP-2599
Procedure: Dr. █████ ██████ became T-460-A-1. SCP-2599 became T-460-B-1. T-460-A-1 instructed T-460-B-1 to recite a given phrase fully.
Results: T-460-B-1 proceded to fully recite the given phrase.
Notes: This test tells us two things. First, anomalous entities, should they possess the intelligence to understand commands, are subject to T-460's control just as normal humans are. Second, given the completeness with which SCP-2599 performed the task given, T-460's effects have precedence over SCP-2599's effects, which suggests it may be able to exert control over similar entities that have abilities which would normally preclude them from following such commands.
⠀
Addendum T-460-01: Response to Dr. ██████'s request to employ T-460 as a means of terminating SCP-682. Dr. ██████ suggested using T-460 to order SCP-682 to self terminate.
Dr. ██████, your request is denied. We cannot be certain T-460 will be able to affect SCP-682, we have no viable means of retrieving T-460-B from SCP-682 if it proves ineffective, we cannot perform a tissue sample test using T-460, and perhaps most importantly, there is a risk that SCP-682 will regenerate from and subsequently become immune to self-termination if it does work. I won't waste O5's time with this based on the results of a single cross-test. Get a few more successful cross-tests under your belt and I will reconsider.
⠀
Site Director ██████
⠀
Experiment Log T-460-21: Cross-test with SCP-4494
Subjects: Dr. █████ ██████, SCP-4494
Procedure: Dr. ██████ became T-460-A-1. SCP-4494 became T-460-B-1. T-460-A-1 instructed T-460-B-1 to not fight crime.
Results: SCP-4494's anomalous effect activated. Within 2 hours, T-460-B-1 was instructed to resume fighting crime.
Notes: T-460-B-1 will follow orders that directly conflict with its moral code, should it have one. Knowing this, we probably shouldn't cross-test with SCP-4494 anymore.
⠀
Addendum T-460-02: In light of the incident caused during Experiment T-460-21, Dr. █████ ██████ and all other personnel involved in the experiment have been suspended indefinitely from all further access to T-460, and have been stripped of their Level 5 clearance and administered the proper amnestics. All further inquiries regarding potential tests for T-460 are to be submitted to Dr. █████ ██ when he returns from medical leave. Until that time, all inquiries are to be submitted to Dr. ███████ █████.
SITE-WIDE MEMO TO ALL LEVEL 5 PERSONNEL
Cross-testing with Archon-class entities is against Foundation policy, and may only be carried out with authorization from O5. I thought this was made perfectly clear, but evidently, some of you couldn't be bothered to read the updated policies in the digital handbook you were all sent. The next time this happens, you won't just be demoted to Level 4. You'll be fired. Ignorance of this policy will not be considered a valid excuse. Read the new handbook. This will be your only warning.

Site Director ██████
Temporary Permanent Item Designation: ESO-482-J S-482-J
Object Class: Eparch Safe
Special Containment Procedures: S-482-J is not to be classified with an official item number, nor referred to by any official item number in any communications regarding the item. All communications regarding S-482-J are to be proofread in full three times by the sender before being sent to their intended recipient or viewed by a third party. S-482-J is to be kept in Dr. ████ M████'s office on Site-S, in a locked desk drawer, and is only to be removed for testing purposes at Dr. M████'s discretion.
Description: S-482-J is a black composition notebook, with "Vol. 1" handwritten on the cover, and containing detailed descriptions of various Unclassified Anomalous Objects (UAOs), each written in a similar format to official Foundation documentation, but generally containing more grammatical and spelling errors than official Foundation documents. While awaiting classification, S-482-J did not exhibit any anomalous effects, and was originally classed as Eparch. A clerical error in a memo regarding S-482-J triggered its anomalous effects, which began with the recipients of the memo emailing Dr. M████ to tell him they "don't think SCP-███-J is interesting enough to be official". Before the error was caught, one junior researcher even broke into Dr. M████'s office and attempted to burn S-482-J while shouting "MINUS ONE! MINUS ONE!" before being subdued by security. A survey of Site-S was conducted and all personnel found to be under S-482-J's effects were administered Class B amnestics.
Temporary Item Designation: K-492
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: All known convergence points between our universe and K-492 are to be guarded by an appropriate number of armed personnel at both ends. Any civilians found leaving a known convergence point in our universe are to be taken into Foundation custody, questioned thoroughly about their personal history (see Document K-492-011 for a list of mandatory questions), then administered Class C amnestics and returned to their own universe.
Anomalies within K-492 are under the jurisdiction of the Magus Bureau. Unidentified anomalies are to be reported to our Magus Bureau Liaison Department immediately.
Description: K-492 is a parallel universe with several similarities to our own, as well as 103 currently known convergence points (at which it is possible to safely travel between our own universe and K-492), 27 of which are located on Earth. The Magus Bureau is aware of this anomaly and classifies our universe as MCD-4928-H (classified "Hyperion"). An alternate version of Earth and the Sun both exist within K-492, and are exactly aligned with our own Earth and Sun. The significant bodies in K-492's version of our solar system are as follows:

|
|
Mass, diameter, rotational speed, and rotational direction are identical to those of the analogous body, but the orbital path is perpendicular to the analogous body. The position of a convergence point between Earth-K-492 and the relative orbital path of our own Moon creates a phenomenon occurring once every 27 days: A brief period during which Earth's Moon will be visible from Earth-K-492. This anomaly is identified by the Magus Bureau as MCD-179-S (classified "Static"). |

Mass, diameter, and position relative to Earth are identical to those of the analogous body. |
Additionally, several major and minor events in Earth-K-492's history transpired differently than corresponding events in Earth's history. A selection of these events are as follows:
| Date |
Event |
Key differences from our history |
|
|
Birth of Stanley Melvin Berenstein, better known as Stan Berenstein, author of the Berenstein Bears series of children's books. |
Stan Berenstein appears to be K-492's counterpart to Stan Berenstain, who authored the Berenstain Bears series of children's books. There appear to be no major differences between these individuals or their works beyond the spelling of their surnames (and by extension, the title of their respective series). |
|
|
Failed assassination of U.S. President John Fitzgerald Kennedy. |
The assassination attempt bears several similarities to the assassination of our own universe's version of John F. Kennedy, including the shooter's weapon of choice and the location he fired from. The shooter, one Lee Harvey Oswald, was apprehended shortly after firing the first shot, which missed. He was subsequently found to have acted alone. Kennedy was re-elected for a second term in 1964. |
|
|
Death of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela during his incarceration in Pollsmoor Prison. |
Cause of death was determined to be a heart attack. No equivalent event transpired in our own history. In our history, the individual known as Nelson Mandela was released from prison in 1990 and went on to become the first black South African head of state in 1994. |
|
|
Release of Shazaam, an American comedy film starring David Adkins, better known by his stage name Sinbad. |
No such film was released on the same date in our history, though a film with a similar premise, titled Kazaam and starring basketball player Shaquille O'Neal, was released on the same date in our history. This film was not released in K-492. |
|
|
Yellowstone National Park is established and signed into law by President George W. Bush. |
In our history, Yellowstone National Park, which is identical in location and topography to K-492's version, was established and signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant on 1 March 1872. This discrepancy in dates may be related to the effects of SCP-1422. |

The Magus Bureau: The Magus Bureau, established by Garfield Magus in 196█ or possibly by ████ ██████ and ██████ █████ in 197█, is a clandestine organization whose purpose is the identification and concealment of anomalous objects and occurrences from the public eye. Like the Foundation, they have extensive documentation detailing special containment procedures (referred to as "Magus concealment directives") for over 4,000 anomalous items and occurrences. Many of these anomalies are identical to anomalies currently contained by the Foundation. Several are not.
The "anomaly classification" system is analogous to our own object class system, featuring five main anomaly classes and ██ esoteric anomaly classes. According to the Magus Bureau's Anomaly Classification Guidelines:
ACG 1.1: An anomaly will be considered Static if it requires Level 5 (minimal or no) containment.
ACG 1.2: An anomaly will be considered Adaptive if it requires Level 4 or Level 3 containment (object is capable of breaching Level 5 containment under its own power and requires more specialized concealment directives). Additionally, all sapient anomalies should be classified Adaptive, even if they require Level 5 containment or lower.
ACG 1.3: An anomaly will be considered Hyperion if it is uncontainable or requires Level 2 or Level 1 containment (concealment directives required to ensure its containment are high-security, high maintenance and any containment breach represents a major threat to public safety or normalcy).
ACG 1.4: An anomaly will be considered Neutralized if it is no longer active or extant or it no longer retains any anomalous properties, regardless of previous anomaly class. All documentation of Neutralized-class anomalies are required to list previous anomaly class(es) and Magus concealment directives used to contain the anomaly.
ACG 1.5: An anomaly will be considered Tennou if it is reasonably reliable as a method of maintaining or assisting in the maintenance of Magus concealment directives for specific Adaptive- and Hyperion-class anomalies. All documentation of Tennou-class anomalies are required to list previous anomaly class(es) and Magus concealment directives used to contain the anomaly.
For further information regarding main anomaly classes, refer to Appendix ACG-1A.
What follows is a selection of anomalous entities currently contained by the Magus Bureau.

E-494 prior to containment.
Special Containment Procedures: E-494 is to be kept in the center of circular chamber with a diameter of 10 meters, located 50 meters from Building 9 on Site-22. The ceiling of the room is composed of a specialized type of glass that does not block UVA radiation. Four ultraviolet flood lamps are located within the room, each 2.5 meters from the center, facing inward. These flood lamps are to be turned on before the sun sets low enough that the walls of the room block the light from reaching E-494, and are to remain on until the sun rises high enough that E-494 is in the sunlight again.
Any maintenance of E-494 (including watering, pruning, wiring, and re-potting) is to be performed daily by one D-class personnel trained in bonsai care, during full daylight hours. During this maintenance, the D-class is to carefully position him/herself so as not to cast a shadow on E-494 at any time. Maintenance on E-494 is not to be performed on rainy or overcast days, and in the event of a weather warning, all personnel are to vacate E-494's chamber immediately.
Under no circumstances are personnel to enter E-494's chamber at night or during rain or overcast conditions.
Description: E-494 is a small specimen of two-flush pine of unknown species, recovered from the residence of a Mr. ██████ ███████ in █████, Japan in 19██. The corpse of Mr. ███████ was discovered nearby, with unusual puncture marks covering his body and nearly completely drained of blood. Apart from its unusual appearance (the needles of E-494 are a deep red color, even when the specimen appears otherwise to be completely healthy), E-494 shows no anomalous properties when it is properly maintained and kept in full sunlight.
When improperly maintained (through over- or under-watering, imbalanced pruning, or failure to re-pot soon after its buds have begun to swell), E-494 will begin to "bleed" from its trunk, the most recently pruned candle, or its roots, depending on the manner of improper maintenance it has suffered. Analysis shows that the blood contained within E-494 is human blood, and DNA profiling shows it is from multiple donors, including E-494's late owner, Mr. ███████.
When improperly maintained and not exposed to sunlight, E-494 will sprout thin black tendrils from its trunk, which it is capable of manipulating with some degree of precision. The tips of these tendrils are quite sharp, capable of piercing human skin with ease, and the tendrils themselves are hollow, much like a drinking straw. E-494 will attempt to use these tendrils to extract blood from the nearest human body. Observation of E-494 during this stage has shown that the tendrils have an effective range of approximately 2 meters.
Should E-494 succeed in extracting a sufficient quantity of blood, the "bleeding" effect will stop, and further maintenance of E-494 will not be required to prevent its anomalous effects from manifesting for at least 24 hours. The tendrils will then go limp and begin to slowly recede into the trunk of E-494. The tendrils recede much more quickly when E-494 is exposed to direct sunlight, and will not sprout again under direct sunlight, even while E-494 is bleeding. Artificial UV light has shown to be effective to a lesser degree. E-494's tendrils appear to be slower and less precise under UV light, though it will not force the tendrils to recede like natural sunlight would.
