Limited Catalogue of UAOs

Some anomalous objects are too dangerous or too difficult to contain for the Foundation to simply place them in Standard Safe Anomalous Item Storage (SSAIS). Before these objects are classified with an official item number (i.e., SCP-173), they are given a Temporary Item Designation (TID), pending official review. These Unclassified Anomalous Objects (UAOs) can spend months or even years waiting for classification, so the Foundation currently has hundreds of UAOs in containment, each one with its own special containment procedures.

What follows is a small selection of these UAOs.

Special Containment Procedures: All extant instances of E-436 are to be kept in Containment Locker 7B on Site-4. All extant instances of E-436 are to be kept in Containment Locker 7B on Site-4. Every 12 hours, an inventory of Containment Locker 7B's contents is to be conducted. Once this inventory has concluded, all but two instances of E-436 are to be incinerated. Once this inventory has concluded, all but two instances of E-482 are to be incinerated. No instance of E-436 is ever to be transported separately or kept more than 5 meters from any other instances of E-436. No instance of E-436 is ever to be transported separately or kept more than 5 meters from any other instances of E-436.

Description: Each instance of E-436 is a Bicycle-brand playing card (specifically the 2 of Diamonds). Each instance of E-436 is a Bicycle-brand playing card (specifically the 2 of Diamonds). Its anomalous properties are threefold: first, E-436 is able to exactly duplicate itself at a rate observed to range from once every five days to 148 times per second, second, a minimum of two undamaged instances of E-436 are always extant within 5 meters of one another at any given time, and third, any information about E-436, whether verbal, written, or pictographical, is repeated whenever said information is communicated. The first property listed above manifests at a rate inversely proportional to the number of currently extant instances of E-436, and directly proportional to the severity of the damage to the least damaged extant instance of E-436. The first property listed above manifests at a rate inversely proportional to the number of currently extant instances of E-436, and directly proportional to the severity of the damage to the least damaged extant instance of E-436. The inverse proportionality manifests in the form of the second property listed above. The inverse proportionality manifests in the form of the second property listed above. Currently, there is no known way to permanently destroy all extant instances of E-436. Currently, there is no known way to permanently destroy all extant instances of E-436. Attempting to destroy one instance while there are only two extant instances has resulted in the instance not being destroyed duplicating itself nearly instantaneously. Attempting to destroy one instance while there are only two extant instances has resulted in the instance not being destroyed duplicating itself nearly instantaneously. This same effect has been observed to manifest when any instance of E-436 is separated from other extant instances by more than 5 meters. This same effect has been observed to manifest when any instance of E-436 is separated from other extant instances by more than 5 meters. Attempting to destroy all extant instances of E-436 simultaneously has resulted in numerous instances appearing at some random location, usually within 3 kilometers of the instances being destroyed. Addendum E-436-01: Significantly damaged (but not destroyed) instances of E-436 have been observed to not have the self-duplicating properties present in undamaged instances. Significantly damaged (but not destroyed) instances of E-436 have been observed to not have the self-duplicating properties present in undamaged instances.

Addendum E-436-02: Instances of E-436 which have been damaged to the point of losing the self-duplicating properties present in undamaged instances have been observed to have some mild self-regenerating properties.
