Special Containment Procedures: As due to various factors SCP-XXXX cannot be moved, a containment facility disguised as a storage warehouse has been built around it. Four security personnel are to be on active duty at any given time operating in pairs. No personnel entering the facility for any reason are to ever operate alone, regardless of clearance.
*Update:* As of incident X2 a mobile task force is to be stationed adjacent to the containment grounds at a permanent Foundation residence currently disguised as a farmhouse.
Quarterly as a joint operation no less than two MTFs will activate SCP-XXXX to perform a short range security sweep of SCP-XXXX-A before rotating stationed personnel.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a stone archway, the only significant remaining structure of what used to be a church, located approximately 35 km outside of Atlanta, Georgia in the United States, in a largely undeveloped area of forestation between Atlanta and neighboring townships. When specific stones in the arch are touched in the correct order the archway becomes a functional gateway to another world, referred to as SCP-XXXX-A, for 59 minutes. Currently it is undetermined if this is a different world in our universe or a parallel universe. Testing has shown SCP-XXXX to be anomalously resilient, with Researcher Brines hypothesizing that it acting as a sort of dimensional anchor is what prevents it from being destroyed or moved.
SCP-XXXX was discovered when a pair of teenagers reported to police that one of their friends had gotten lost in another world, and following standard procedure after the report was flagged a team was sent to investigate. The teens described their friend waving his arms around inside the arch, after which it turned into a portal to a "fall world". After initial environmental tests were consistent with a potential anomalous disturbance in the area a containment team was sent to administer amnesics and establish with the police the missing teen was a runaway. After approximately 37 hours of testing the primary contact team succeeded in establishing the opening of the gateway to SCP-XXXX-A.
SCP-XXXX-A is a world superficially very similar to Earth. The gravity is identical and the area around SCP-XXXX's gateway is a deciduous forest featuring the same plant life in the surrounding forest on Earth. SCP-XXXX-A's sun also appears identical to Sol, with the temperature remaining in typical bounds for autumn weather. The atmospheric composition is also nearly the same as Earth, though with no pollutants and moderately higher oxygen content suggesting no extant civilization.
The sole known actively anomalous property of SCP-XXXX-A was not discovered until after prolonged observation: SCP-XXXX-A appears to remain in a perpetual state of autumn. The average temperature remains the same year-round and all seasonal vegetation begins growth as normal but upon maturation immediately proceeds to and remains in the life cycle and coloration normally only associated with autumn. Flora taken from SCP-XXXX-A to Earth resumed its normal life cycle, while flora brought to SCP-XXXX-A from Earth assumed this anomalous behavior after approximately 27 days. No alien vegetation has been discovered thus far.
Only two animal lifeforms have been observed on SCP-XXXX-A, hereto referring to as SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2.
SCP-XXXX-1 have never been approached closer than approximately 1.2 km. Observed from this distance they appear to be white buffalo, but have never been successfully interacted with.
SCP-XXXX-2 are entities vaguely humanoid in profile and may be mistaken as such in conditions of poor visibility. SCP-XXXX-2 average 2 meters tall when standing upright and have dark grey or charcoal colored skin that is completely hairless and toughens to resemble insectile chitin on the extremities. The head is featureless except for two eyes that appear entirely black; there are no mouth or nostrils. SCP-XXXX-2 has six limbs: four arranged as humanoid arms and legs, and two addition limbs normally folded against the back. The arms and legs are about 10% longer relative to body size than human and have an additional joint. The extremities are analogous to hands and feet with six hooked digits. The dorsal limbs are similar to arms and will typically extend over the shoulders. Rather than hands these limbs end in SCP-XXXX-2's mouths, resembling canid muzzles with teeth consistent with carnivores.
SCP-XXXX-2 are sentient and appear to have the ability to seize control of other creatures' bodies through potentially psychic means from as far as 10 meters.
