SCP-XXXX Sighted before containment

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is contained in a specialized chamber where a hedge maze is located. The only entrance or exit from this maze is from the ceiling above the open space at the center.

Physical contact with SCP-XXXX is prohibited. If contact is made, then the party or parties involved must be terminated. Bodies should then be removed from the premises to avoid them being consumed by SCP-XXXX. One live animal should be given to SCP-XXXX on a weekly basis and the grounds should be kept clean by a designated Foundation member.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a creature reminiscent of a horse (Equus caballus) made up of an unknown black material which can only come in contact with a living material. If the material in contact with SCP-XXX is not made of a living substance then it will pass through it. SCP-XXXX appears to be in immense pain when passing through objects.

This black material may take the form of other objects to give SCP-XXXX a more appealing appearance, such as teeth, fur, hooves, eyes, etc. Upon contact with SCP-XXXX, humans and certain animals cannot remove themselves from it and will be attached until all life functions have ceased.

SCP-XXXX's hooves are positioned backward on its legs, causing it to spend most of its time resting on the ground, however walking or running are not impossible. Another observed side effect of reversed hooves is SCP-XXXX's inclination towards swimming and water.

SCP-XXXX on rare occasion will attempt to mimic other organisms with varying degrees of success. In every observed case, SCP-XXXX’s forms will always have one or more defining flaws, causing it to revert back to its original form. SCP-XXXX’s backward hooves have pointed to it having an original form, but this has yet to be proven.

When presented with prey, SCP-XXXX will trick it into making contact, seeming to prefer this to using force. Once contact has been made, SCP-XXXX will attempt the drown the subject until all life functions have stopped. SCP-XXXX will attempt to do this in water, but if water is not available, then it will submerge the subject inside of itself until the same result is achieved.

Addendum XXXX-1: Discovery

SCP-XXXX first came to the Foundations attention after a string of disappearances (eight children, five adults) in northern Scotland. After two days, SCP-XXXX was found in an abandoned water-mill, directly outside of Fort Augustus.

[Begin Log]

Robin: Are we online?

Arthur: It would appear so.

Site Command: You guys are fine… you have thirty seconds untill extraction.

Lancelot: So all we have to do is not touch it?

Site Commmand: That's right… twenty seconds

Tim: Why aren't they getting Samsura to do this? They'd get rid of that thing faster.

Patsy: They're probably off fighting the Kraken or whatever.

Robin: Dude, every time you guess classified info, the more Amnestics you'll get at the end of the mission. Laughs

Site Command: That's quite the accusation Robin, you might get the same amount if that keeps up… you guys are good for extraction.

Epslion-6 enter the extraction zone

Arther: Our main target is that water-mill, if you find any body parts, leave them.
