SCP-4000 recorded during Incident Report 3^

Special Containment Procedures: Armed guards are to be placed outside of SCP-4000-1 at all times. The guards are to be disguised as civilians with concealed level 5 weapon and defense equipment nearby for quick access. The perimeter must stay secure at all costs. Should SCP-4000 leave SCP-4000-1, guards are told to not shoot lethally! Proper containment and recovery teams will be dispatched to SCP-4000’s current location. Weapons must be concealed to avoid detection of the public unless SCP-4000 leaves SCP-4000-1. Should any civilian attempt to enter SCP-4000-1, guards at the entrance must try to convince them not to enter. Should they enter, take non-violent methods to keep them out of the “non-tourable” areas. Regular supervision of the cameras and audio recording devices within SCP-4000-1 must be enforced at Site-06-3. When testing/containment procedures are in order, guards are to pose as employees and claim the area is closed. Radio and observation teams are to be placed on Mount [REDACTED] at all times. MTF at Site-06-3 are to be ready to deploy at all times.

Description: SCP-4000 is a HIGHLY dangerous, uncontained, humanoid roaming the wilderness of [REDACTED], or the "[REDACTED]" now referred to as SCP-4000-1. The SCP is believed to be the reason for this areas anomalous factors, as all attempts to secure and contain SCP-4000 have resulted in strange deaths of all personnel involved, all of which appear to be suicides, just as the deaths in SCP-4000-1. (See Incident Reports 1-6) SCP-4000 doesn't seem to feed on the victims of its anomalous powers, so a food source is unknown. SCP-4000 also seems to be nocturnal, as it’s never been seen during the day. It appears to be gray, hairless, and about the same size as the average human male. SCP-4000 seems to have trace amounts of radiation, matching the frequencies at Chernobyl, leading personnel to believe it is the cause for the Chernobyl Incident. Due to the difficulty to find and recover SCP-4000, little is known of it, other than its appearance and its effects on its victims. SCP-4000 only attempted to exit SCP-4000-1 once. It neared the exit but guards say it was “scared” away by a car passing on the highway.
SCP-4000-1 is a large and famous stretch of forest located at the base of [REDACTED] Due to the areas fame and use for tours, the containment and recovery missions are very difficult to conceal from the public.
SCP-4000 seems to leave some symbols (SCP-4000-2) in random parts of SCP-4000-1. Each one is different and they never repeat. It is unknown what they mean.

Incident Reports:

Incident Report 1: ◼️◼️/◼️◼️/◼️◼️◼️◼️
Agent [REDACTED] was placed within the police force investigating the deaths within SCP-4000-1 when SCP-4000-2 was discovered. He was helping extract a victim when he noticed the symbols on the tree the victim was hanging from. Not recognizing it as any language, Agent [REDACTED] informed Foundation personnel that they could be a clue to the areas anomalous factors. At about 2:30 AM on ◼️◼️/◼️◼️/◼️◼️◼️◼️, Foundation personnel found and documented SCP-4000-2. (Level 4 access or higher required to view photos of SCP-4000-2) As the recovery team attempted to leave, they were able to contact Site-06-3 personnel before the incident.

"Hey, this is Agent [REDACTED] my Foundation ID is [REDACTED] Um, we may have just been spotted by someone, but if I were you, I wouldn't worry, probably just someone coming here to do what everyone else does." -Recovery Team

"This is [REDACTED] Please apply proper security protocols and please put me on the line with whoever is responsible for perimeter control. If necessary, we may need to implement a mind wipe on the individual who saw you, attempt to find them if time permits." -Site-06-3 Personnel.

"Roger that. I'm putting you on with per—-ter cont-ol now." -Recovery Team

"Roger. Check the antenna while you're at it. You're losing connection." - Site-06-3 Personnel

"Wt? I c— st- y—-" - Recovery Team

"Look just get the data and get out of there, we have an issue with [REDACTED] and I'm getting ordered to deal with that." -Site-06-3 Personnel

The Recovery Team never returned but the evidence was uploaded to the Site-06-3 database before the incident occurred. The data the radiation readers uploaded showed little signs of radiation on SCP-4000-2.

Incident Report 2: ◼️◼️/◼️◼️/◼️◼️◼️◼️
Foundation Personnel attempted to find more instances of SCP-4000-2. The events of ◼️◼️/◼️◼️/◼️◼️◼️◼️ are unknown but vague now that further testing has been conducted. The personnel were going to be within SCP-4000-1 for about 16 hours. No evidence of SCP-4000 or SCP-4000-2 were found/recorded. None of the team returned. Only one was found. His death was self inflicted.

Incident Report 3: ◼️◼️/◼️◼️/◼️◼️◼️◼️
Foundation personnel began to question as to what happened to the previous two recovery teams. 4 Class D personnel were put within SCP-4000-1 at different areas, each one equipped with standard camcorders fitted with transmitters for Foundation personnel to watch live, a flood light with batteries that would last 24 hours, and a ear piece for listening to Foundation questions and orders. A secure perimeter was placed around SCP-4000-1 to ensure no Class D personnel attempted escape. Due to the contents captured on 3 of the Class D personnel's camcorders, level 4 access or higher is required. But D-3578 captured only part of his encounter.

Test Subjects:
D-3578: Male, 29, 3 accounts of murder, no recognizable mental problems.
Results: Presumed Deceased.
D-4190: Male, 45, armed robbery and murder, no recognizable mental problems.
Results: Deceased.
D-6547: Female, 21, human trafficking, no recognizable mental problems.
Results: Alive but Severely Wounded (Self Inflicted)
D-971: Female, 33, arson, no recognizable mental problems.
Results: Deceased.

After 2 hours of wandering SCP-4000-1, D-3578 began crying, when questioned on why, D-3578 responded with "I don't know." A few minutes later, it muttered "It kinda feels right." After walking for another hour, D-3578 stopped suddenly and emitted a sound of distress. When questioned on the origin of his distress, it stated "I hear someone walking!" Personnel tried to ensure him that it was an animal but D-3578 was persistent, stating "No! It's on two legs! You can hear the difference! It's close! They don't have a light, what's wrong with them?!?" Small amounts of video and audio distortion began. Dr. [REDACTED] then purposed the idea to the rest of the personnel that this could be the [REDACTED] Personnel then ordered D-3578 to investigate. D-3578 refused. The instructions were repeated. D-3578 refused again. Dr. [REDACTED] reminded it that failure to comply results in termination. D-3578 didn't answer for a few seconds. Finally, voice breaking, D-3578 said "Ok." It took a few steps forward toward the noise. But suddenly, the sounds stopped. D-3578 was then informed to continue walking. An hour later, D-3578 was nearing the end of the experiment, after having a number of breakdowns into a state of severe depression. It was quiet for a few minutes after it stopped crying and said, "I'm going to die aren't I?" Personnel responded to the negative. "Well it's been following me! I keep seeing it! But I won't give you what you want! I won't record it! I know that's why I'm here! In fact, watch this!" Dr. [REDACTED] tried to calm him down but D-3578 turned the camera to his face and showed them him taking the ear peace out and throwing it on the ground. Tears began to stream down his face and he suddenly threw the camera deep into the woods. D-3578 can then be heard running and crying into the woods. After a few seconds of silence, audio and visual problems began again, and SCP-4000 stepped out of a collection of trees, looked at the camera, and retreated into the forest.
