Item #: SCP-3962

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3962 is to be stored in a standard handgun transportation case located at the Site-██ armory. SCP-3962 must be stored in an undisclosed location within Site-███ (location is to be selected and moved every ██ weeks by the Site-███ Site Director) and sealed within a 50x50cm container, guarded by no less than two (2) Level 3 personnel.

Following Incident 3962-1, Only Level 3 personnel and higher may do testing on SCP-3962 with Level 4 authorization required from no less than three (3) Level 4 personnel. Testing of SCP-3962 has been suspended indefinitely without the unanimous approval of no more than four (4) O5 Council Members.

Description: SCP-3962 appears to be a Colt M1911, standard issued to personnel in the United States military. The only unusual aspect of its appearance is that no known official variant of the handgun was manufactured with the design of SCP-3962 at any time period, as well as the phrase “Ego igitur habito” (roughly translating to “I am, therefore I live”), is engraved on the bottom-left side of the handle. Oddly, the phrase looks like it was handwritten, rather than engraved by a machine.

SCP-3962’s anomalous properties do not occur until it is held by a sapient, conscious human and is loaded with at least one (1) .45 ACP, hereby designated as SCP-3962-1. When held, personnel report feeling a raise in confidence in their shooting ability, and believe they can hit just about anything.

When an individual aims at or in the general direction of thinks about its ideal target, or targets (referred to as SCP-3962-2 upon discharge), and fires SCP-3962, SCP-3962-1 will hit said target(s) without fail, no matter the location. SCP-3962 does not lose velocity at any point until all SCP-3962-2 instances have been hit. 100% of testing has shown this to always be the case, as SCP-3962-1 seems to break all laws of physics and is able to penetrate any surface in order to hit its target(s)
