Miepasie - First attempt

Item #: SCP-X

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-X is to be contained inside of a seethrough plastic box in a small room at site ███ made out of manmade material. SCP-X Needs to remain inside its plastic casing at all times due to the serious threat it poses to any staff member that comes into contact with its light. Cleaning and maintaining the room SCP-X is housed in should be no problem, as the light it emits is blocked by the box.

Description: SCP-X was found in 1968 inside an abandoned factory near ██████ ██████. SCP-X was found turned on, on top of a wooden desk and was pointed down towards its base. A small fraction of the light however seems to have touched the desk, as there is a strangely shaped hole in the construction with burn marks around it. The first attempt to contain the object was not succesful after a patch of skin on staff member ████ ████ was exposed to the light, burning partway through his wrist and leaving him disfigured.

SCP-X is a standard looking light bulb housed in SCP-X-1, a standard desk lamp with no apparent anomalous properties. The light coming out of SCP-X seems to burn through any natural material including but not limited to: Wood, dirt, rock and even any piece of an organisms body whether dead or alive. Hence why a piece of manmade material like the plastic box is to be placed in front of the lightbulb at all times. Trying to press the power switch on SCP-X-1 sees no results, researches have not found a way to turn off SCP-X

SCP-X does not seem to need electricity to emit light and seems to work in any possible housing. Trying to reflect the light that SCP-X emits seems meaningless as it's light is not able to be reflected off of reflective material or go through any transparent surface. It merely hits the surface and stops there, or burns through it. The light seems to never stop and have limitless strength. Looking to cross far distances without effort. Test site researchers have theorised that SCP-X could even burn a hole through the entirety of planet earth, including its core. If left undisturbed for a couple of weeks.

The rate at which SCP-X burns through natural material varies based on the density of said material. Though it is characterized as being rather slow. Further testing is necessary.
