Description:

SCP-XXXX was initially discovered by the Foundation after the Foundation's Intelligence Agency became aware of a cluster of six suspicious deaths in ██████████, Louisiana.

SCP-XXXX is a blue poker chip measuring 32mm diameter x 2mm depth.

The chip itself always appears as an indistinguishable clone of gambling chips from the nearest gambling establishment (official or unofficial) within a 500km radius. Should there be no such establishment, the chip will appear as a gambling chip from an establishment called "The rising sun".

SCP-XXXX seeks out and attaches to most individuals that pass within 3 metres of it through a process of dematerializing, and reappearing in the pockets or clothing of said individuals. In some circumstances SCP-XXXX may even rematerialize inside partially healed surgical wounds.

SCP-XXXX will attach to any individual who currently has, has formerly had, or is susceptible to developing addictions relating to gambling, substance abuse, sexual misbehavior and violence (See SCP-XXXX Research Profile v.21 for a more exhaustive list of susceptible traits and behaviours).

Once in a subjects possession, SCP-XXXX will attempt to influence subjects to indulge in their particular vice. Subjects often describe this influence as feelings of spontaneous 'luckiness', anger, cravings or lust.

Individuals who indulge their particular vice within 24 hours of the chip coming into their possession invariably die within 3 months. In recorded instances of SCP-XXXX in the wild, these deaths are often related to the particular vice of the individual; such as violent murders and overdoses. D-Class test subjects that are not allowed to further indulge vices typically die of brain hemorrhage.

Individuals who are restrained or not able to indulge their vices for logistical reasons suffer no unusual compulsions as a result of possessing SCP-XXXX, and SCP-XXXX will quickly dematerialize from such an individual.

Individuals who are able to resist the compulsion to succumb to their vice, by their will alone, suffer no Ill health affects as a result of possessing the chip, and report that they experience no further urges to engage in their prior addictive behaviour.
