Special Containment Procedures: Research and interactions with SCP# are currently suspended until further notice from the Site Director due to it's almost entirely fatal results in previous tests. SCP# should remain in it's specially designed container in site [REDACTED] with 2 armed personel with level 3 access and psychological training standing guard outside SCP# 's designated room. Guards are to only be armed with blunt weaponry, the only exception being a regulation dart gun contained within a key-padded protection case installed within 2 feet of the doorway. One D-class personnel member should bring 100ml of a specially prepared water-based solution into SCP# 's room after being checked by the guards for any sharp objects, or large blunt objects. Said D-class member MUST be wearing one of the following vision obscuring devices (whichever causes the least nausia, or general problems to the member): vision inversion goggles, infrared goggles, or any form or checked blindfold. Any members exhibiting unneeded excitement, giddiness, or longing towards this procedure should be immediately removed from the project and administered an amnesiac. In addition, no member should operate this procedure more than 3 times, and less than this if any form of excessively positive emotion is exhibited SCP# 's maintenance. The D-class personnel should proceed expediently, and avoid as much visual contact with SCP# , while delivering the 100ml onto SCP# , and quickly leave the room. The D-class member should be kept under moderate watch, and under close watch when withing 100ft of SCP# . if SCP# -1 should apppear, or any stage of the changes resulting in SCP# -1 should occur, guards should retrieve the dart gun and fire 2-4 rounds into target subject. Then, before entering the room, one guard should equip some form of approved vision obscuring apparatus, retrieve the body, deliver it to a holding cell, alert a member of personnel with level 5 clearance or directly to the Site Director, report to medical for minor amnesiacs, and be immedietly taken off detail for SCP# .

Description: SCP# , otherwise known as "The Lotus", "The Violet Lotus", "The Lover Flower", and "The Narcissis Flower", is a flower similar in form to a common Nelumbo nucifera (Indian Lotus), the major difference being SCP# 's petal pigmentation. SCP# 's petals are nearly transparent with a slight tint of deep dark violet, but upon extended viewing, changes first to a black, then to a deep violet, then to a deep scarlet. Dr. ████████ was the first to experiment with the lotus, discovering the most important and most dangerous quality the lotus exhibits. These effects have been categorized in stages, ranging from Stage 1 to Stage 5 Upon prolonged visual contact with the lotus, the viewer begins to become infatuated with the flower, intrigued by the changing petals and becomes practically unable to move reaching Stage 1. If the member is removed at this point, with minor amnesic treatment, they may recover with no real lingering problems, though some cases shown to be more closed off and dispassionate than they previously had been. Stage 2 occurs when the petals have turned a pitch black, in which the viewer goes into a vegetative state in which they feel mind numbing amounts of bliss. At this point, no treatment other than full amnesic care with continued sessions will secure any personnel. at Stage 3, the viewer ceases all emotion, and is fully captivated by the lotus. Stage 4 occurs when the lotus' petals are a violet shade, and the viewer has now regained some form of conscience. Subjects will act as if nothing has changed, the only noticeable difference being they will not blink, will not willingly look away from the lotus, will attempt to convince you to view the lotus with them, and, if their vision is interrupted, will turn hostile in an attempt to both remove the interrupter from the area (or in some cases killing them), and regain line of sight with the lotus. When Stage 5 is reached, the viewer ceases to be their old selves in any form, and is forward referred to as SCP# -1. SCP# -1 will then attempt to kill anything living that is not the lotus from the room and an conjoining rooms, and deliver their corpses to the lotus as nutrition, after which, they will rip open their own internal organs, and die, smiling in bliss, above the lotus. SCP# -1s exhibit increased strength and abilities, which currently is being attributed to the body using 100% of the available muscle power without regard to damage it may cause the body. SCP# -1 show no regard for safety, self preservation, or strategy aside from base animalistic intelligence. However, these effects take longer to effect a subject if viewed through any indirect means.
