Description: SCP-4296 is an unknown type of underwater organism living in the Mariana trench (the deepest place on earth). Bigger than a blue whale this creature has armored plating and “paddles” on the bottom (used for propulsion) as well as 2 Large mandibles, similar to some species of arthropod. But has flippers on the side, and can also make calls similar to some types of whale. The main features are 2 large arms, like the claws of a mantis. This creature is presumed to be the last of its kind living at the bottom of the ocean. This creature is predatory, eating anything smaller than its self (its main target being whales). Discovery: 19^0 underwater microphones picked up a signal 2,000 miles across emanating from the Mariana trench. Cover up story includes the use of icebergs dragging across the ocean floor, whale calls, and air pockets under the surface. When Charlie-Echo-23 (Dolphin pod) was sent down in an experimental submersible. Cameras were attached to the helmets for surveillance. When the craft touched the bottom at 10,994 meters, they were met with strange whale like noises in front of them, but when they turned on the flood lights, they saw some sort of reflective armor plating. They tried to get back to the surface but were met with a black space (the creatures’ mouth). The video feed cut out and only screams could be heard… then silence, the dive team was considered deceased.
Test log-1: 4 d-class personal were sent in a submersible designed to withstand 9,000 meters of pressure. Video feed was in the sub to document any “encounters” with the creature. 2 Hours later the crew was told to activate a device that would emanate a whale call to attract SCP-4296. After the call ended there were a few moments of silence. But then responding whale noises could be heard… getting closer.
Results: Video feed cut out just as the creature came into view, audible swearing could be heard along with crying and talking of suicide. Then the video feed came back with the capsule appearing to be breached and nothing for 3 seconds then when the creature came back into view, Screams could be heard along with a calm male voice telling the scientists watching to kill themselves in the most brutal ways. The next day they were found with gash wounds and cuts across their throats in what seemed to be a suicide pact. After the incident the video was destroyed and all personal were given class-0 anesthetics.
Addendum: When this creatures’ telepathic capabilities were discovered we did not know the danger at first, then we realized that if this thing ever came up to the surface of the ocean it could broadcast its telepathic “mind tricks” and convince every one in the world to “Become one”. As of now we do not know what this means but based on what happened when we sent people down there, we assume it means to “Become whole and cast out the ones that are not worthy through any means necessary”.
