Special containment procedures: Scp-8401 is to be kept in a 10x by 10x meter room composed of wood and dry wall. No personnel are permitted to come into contact with Scp-8401 in any way may it be visual, auditory, or by touch, any who come into into any form of contact are to be taken to the medical bay and to examine the subject for any psychological alteration. After subject is to be given class A amnesiacs immediately. Due to being unable to come into contact with Scp-8401 metal detectors are to be kept wishing the containment chamber to ensure the presence of Scp-8401. No more than 2 Class Ds are allowed within its chamber, see incident report 15-8401
Description: Scp-8401 appears as an official US Mint Money press that stands at 12 feet tall, 14 feet long, and 10 feet long. Scp-8401 is equipped with a keypad and above the keypad a small window showing gears to the machine. All attempts to use the keypad to make scp-8401 respond results in subject becoming distressed. Though Scp-8401 seems inactive it prints US currency (dollars and coins) with the faces of presidents and all government official markings are blacked out which is designated scp-8401-1. Scp-8401-1 is to never be touched for the exception of testing purposes. When Scp-8401-1 is handled the handler will refer to itself as the buyer and will not communicate with any form of artificial communication. The buyer will actively look for someone to pay, which is now referred to as the merchant. Once the merchant is payed it will announce “X amount in X days” (time and amount are determined by how much is given $1= 1 in 1 day). The merchant will then actively look for other people, once it has found one it will then proceed to terminate the person. Once subject expires it will then take the head back to the buyer and hand it over, causing Scp-8401’s effect to wear off and wipe the memory of both subjects of the experience. However if the merchant does not collect enough heads, the buyer will come for him always knowing the merchant’s location. Once the merchant is found it will inform it that it is the deadline, the merchant will just nod and decapitate itself releasing the buyer from the Anomalous effect wiping its memory of the experience.
Scp-8401 was an official printing press for the United States created by an unknown subject. It’s anomalous effect was discovered when a police report was found by MTF units of a US mint employee named [Redacted] was decapitating his co-workers after being payed with Scp-8401-1, MTF entered the mint to find Scp-8401 and the employee in extreme mental distress, employee was apprehended by MTF and MTF agent [Redacted] noticed $5.98 where Scp-8401 was. He picked up the money and his personality immediately changed, he paid agent [redacted] the money making him lunge for the other MTF units, Agent [Redacted] terminated. Agent [Redacted] was released from the effect and remembered nothing, a containment squad was called in and Scp-8401 was taken into site-19.
