SCP-XXXX: The Wristwatch
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a small steel safe, only accessed by a 6-digit combination number (██████), inside Site 77’s Safe SCP wing. This number may only be given by site staff with a clearance Level 1 or higher. Furthermore, the steel safe is to be stored in a storage unit inside of site 77. SCP-XXXX does not cause harm as long as staff and personnel do not come into direct contact with SCP-XXXX.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a worn leather wristwatch with a rusted metal (most likely steel) bezel, white face containing roman numerals and cracked glass. The second, minute and hour hands seemed to have broken off, clumping together at the bottom of the face. SCP-XXXX does not appear to have a manufacturing date or business logo of any kind engraved on the back, face, or leather strap.
While appearing to be an ordinary broken watch, victims of SCP-XXXX have had their motor functions halt almost instantly upon wearing it. While all other essential biological functions, such as breathing, remain active, the victim’s body is left paralysed even upon the removal of SCP-XXXX. Victims of SCP-XXXX survive via feeding tubes for nutrition and ostomy bags for excretion. How SCP-XXXX causes paralysis is still unknown as further testing may be required.
Addendum: SCP-XXXX was discovered on██/██/██ on one of its victims at the university hospital of ██████ after 4 other reports of sudden paralysis. Foundation personnel were dispatched to investigate the cause of this 48 hours prior to SCP-XXXX’s discovery. How SCP-XXXX was worn by 4 separate individuals is still unknown, though speculation suggests that SCP-XXXX could have hypnotic effects, urging those who come into skin contact with SCP-XXXX to wear it.
While using SCP-500 to cure the effects of SCP-XXXX has been hypothesised, proper testing is required to prove or disprove this hypothesis.
