In the two days that followed since the events detailed in Incident Report 01, I witnessed the near destruction of everything MC&D's Electronic Gaming Division had built over the years. Our core business model was being faded from existence by a force I couldn't control.

Luckily, the talented people in Acquisitions really know what they're doing. I put out the request and in two days they had the kid on ice. CJ goes over most of it in Memo 02.

On this fateful afternoon, I was sitting in with a creative team tasked to possibly get the ball rolling for Sims 5. People threw out the usual ideas; VR technology, better graphics, more things included in the base game, etc. It wasn't until Karen suggested teenage life and microtransactions that I really saw gears turning. I spoke up to ask for the latest sales data on how our latest expansion for Sims 4. When I saw it, my job dropped.

Somehow the day's sales for that game pack had hit an all time high. It eclipsed even its initial release day! I decided to check on the expansion released before that one as well, and it was the same story. This had too good to be true. I asked to see our complete records for the Laundry Day pack; I needed to know if people were forking up $9.99 for washing machines, too.

They weren't. According to our records, we had been giving it all away for free the entire day.

I'm shutting the servers down to scan to do a full audit and virus scan. If that doesn't work, then we at least will have some time to remove the affected games from the market for awhile.

Mr. Wilson:

My team and I have captured "Mx. DLC" as requested.

After the bounty was placed on retrieving the item (which I assure you is not the norm for Acquisitions), I pulled together a team of competent individuals in the Greater New York prepared to work round the clock to find the root cause of this anomaly.

We paid off the right people, and a contact at the Foundation clued us in on a group of anartist pranksters known as "Gamers Against Weed" (a supposedly ironic name). The contact gave us temporary access to their internal chat logs, and we spent a few hours going over them all. Once we learned the item's online alias and likely location, that brought us to Stony Brook University. There, we were able to zero in on our target and apprehend them. It was just a college student after all, so there were no further issues.

Please forward this to your supervisor and inform them that I will be collecting payment on behalf of my team.

Upon acquisition of the item by CJ Tyler, limited access was made to Mx. DLC's personal computer. Please see the attached document for the recovered portion internal communications of the group known as Gamers Against Weed.

That was quick! I've cc'd the executive team now, so you should be all set.

I've also gone ahead and opened up a file for documentation purposes.
I don't think we're planning on selling this item, but I think it's worth tracking regardless.

Sending this to Mac Hazards to get a more complete picture of what Mx. DLC can do.

Finally, I took the liberty to… not include what would've been Memo 01… for personal reasons.

Danger Report
By Hazards Research Limited

The following are the anomalous effects for "Mx. DLC" as far as our team could determine:
- Mx. DLC essentially can only affect businesses which sell videogames.
- For any given videogame with downloadable content, microtransactions, or similar monetization schemes; Mx. DLC will make such content freely accessible to every player who purchased the base game with no additional payment required.
- Interestingly enough, this will not effect games that come in two different versions [Hazard Test Alpha-08 is enclosed for further info].

It's a good thing you caught this as soon as you did. Mx. DLC could've seriously crushed your profit margins.

We will send out an invoice to you within 3-to-5 business days, as usual.

As determined,
- Mac Hazards
Still better than the rest.

You have done admirable work with the gaming division and are a reliable worker. To be blunt though, your initial memo to me begging for help with Mx. DLC was honestly pathetic, man. I bailed you out here, but next time compose yourself better.

To the main point… Due to this item's unique properties, they present an interesting opportunity to be able to undermine some of our competition. They need to feel some pain, I say. Wolf has had it too easy these last few years.

I propose we make an arrangement with Mx. DLC to see that through.

Well, it was not a good month for the gaming division.

I'll start with an explanation for the above. For one reason or another, Arcadia caught wind of Miss Dark's plan to use Mx. DLC against them. With a standard phishing attack directed against Mr. Wilson, they infiltrated our network and installed an anomalous Haiku-themed virus on our network. All it did was force users to file reports in Haiku (5/7/5 syllables). We had it fixed within a few hours, but it kept everyone distracted for a short period.

At the same time, discussions with Mx. DLC were already concluding. As most of you know, standard procedure for humanoid items is to keep them knocked out unless needed. Mx. DLC was not previously aware of their acquisition until we had begun negotiations with them. Let's just say, they were not happy.

Our plan at that point was to just sell them to the Foundation. If Mx. DLC wasn't going to help us undermine Arcadia, then it'd best we see that they get locked up for good. To save money on anesthetics, Mx. DLC was expeditiously escorted to our transfer wing by Mr. Efreet in anticipation of the Foundation taking custody of them after Ms. Dark finalized the arrangement. While she was away on call with the relevant contact, Mr. Efreet was left alone with Mx. DLC when the Haiku bug hit our network.

Some anti-capitalist members of the Serpent's Hand soon took advantage of the situation, no doubt in coordination with Arcadia. Posing as Foundation personnel, the Serpent's Hand group entered the transfer wing and left with Mx. DLC.

Mr. Efreet was cleared of any wrongdoing in the matter, but additional security protocols are now in place for properly identifying authorized representatives of anomalous organizations. Likewise, Mr. Wilson was advised to attend a new mandatory training on how to identify potentially harmful emails.

It is still entirely unclear how information regarding the item was leaked to either Arcadia or the Serpent's Hand. The only clue that remains is External Report 05 which was attached to the original email received by Mr. Wilson.

Excellent report, Mr. Tully. I'd just like to add one thing.

According to our legal department (A-78xD United Eidolonic Collective), Doctor Wondertainment has contacted them about a possible violation of their intellectual property rights. Considering we don't even have possession of Mx. DLC anymore, that's rather a moot point though.
