Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard containment chamber at Site-██. Due to the potentially harmful effects of SCP-XXXX-1 instances (or rather due to the effects when destroyed), access must be supervised by Level 3 cleared personnel. Destruction of SCP-XXXX-1 instances should be avoided and personnel responsible for such destruction will face disciplinary action.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a "████" branded typewriter using a QWERTY layout. This kind of typewriter was constructed in the mid 20th century. Closer examination suggests, that this particular typewriter has been created around the year of 195█. It has been discovered in 20██, following a raid on a warehouse of ████████.

SCP-XXXX's most obvious anomalous property is that it is permanently typing out documents. SCP-XXXX will produce a blank instance of SCP-XXXX-1 and start typing out text in various languages and symbols, although the ones not supported by SCP-XXXX's keys will appear smudged and unclear.

SCP-XXXX-1 instances will usually be filled with transscripts pf historical speeches, negotiations and conversations. The importance of these documents range from famous like the "Gettysburg Address" to mundane like employment contracts. The language of the document appear to fit the language of the source.

SCP-XXXX-1 instances are incredibly durable, although not indestructible. When tore, cut, burnt or damaged in other ways, such that parts of the text become unreadable, SCP-XXXX-1 instances will start to deteriorate into ash. Furthermore nobody and nothing will be able to recall the event that was described on the SCP-XXXX-1 instance. Following the destruction of a SCP-XXXX-1 instance, SCP-XXXX appears to prioritize typing out the "erased" pages. Upon viewing of such SCP-XXXX-1 instances, the person will immediatly regain their prior knowledge about the subject and will be able to "remind" other people about it (who will also regain their memory of it). Researchers have however not found a way to restore electronic records.

Addendum: Due to the memetic effects of SCP-XXXX-1 instances, SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties were originally disregarded, as it seemed to only produce pages of historical records that will destroy themselves when damaged enough. Intitial investigations figured that the documents that were destroyed in testing contained only very irrelevant information.
