Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5022 is to be kept in a 5x 5 x 5 m room with a viewing window on the north-facing wall. Along with a camera placed at the north-west corner facing the anomaly.

SCP-5022 must be kept in a hermetically sealed 12 x 12 x 16 m room with graded-Z laminate shielding and walls that harbour 5cm of heavy metal (consisting of Copper, Tin, and Depleted Uranium).

Said room is to be flooded with Delta Radiation for 5 hours with a 30 min rest period in between the 5-hour intervals for clean up by D-Class personnel with Type K-59-B radiation shielding. Every 2 months the dosage of Delta radiation must be doubled, as the SCP will build a resistance to it.

After the 30-min rest period has passed the room must undergo the sealing process and resume the flow of Delta Radiation within the room, regardless of any personnel that may still be in the containment area.

Characteristics: SCP-5022 is a pit that has a diameter and circumference of approx. ██cm and ███cm ███cm and ████cm respectively. The interior of the pit is comprised of a seemingly infinite void with the properties of an outer space vacuum, with some anomalous side-effects. The pit seems to be dimensionally transcendent, as digging underneath the pit revealed nothing but concrete, which proved transportation to be much more efficient.

The effects of the "vacuum" only take hold once an entity crosses the threshold of the pit, and happen regardless of equipment. Despite the foundations best efforts, light cannot be shone through the threshold, and any light source that is taken through it ceases to function.

Since the Incident: SCP-5022 has begun to leak a black tar-like substance. It's extremely acidic and incredibly poisonous if inhaled, most likely a defence mechanism not unlike an octopus releasing ink when threatened.

Whether this is due to the matter surrounding the vacuum absorbing all light, not unlike the material Vantablack or due to there not being any matter for light to reflect off of requires further testing. remains to be seen.

Said effects/properties include:

• Lung damage (Near instantaneous)
• Burning
• Decompression sickness
• Ruptured ear-drums (Near instantaneous)
• Psychotic Break
• Sound cannot travel through the void.

Discovery: The first recorded founding of the anomaly dates back to ██/██/20██ when the disappearance of a █ year old by the name of ████████ Theodore was reported in the town of [REDACTED], Alberta. The child had last been seen near [REDACTED] Metalworks, which the local police searched and discovered SCP-5022.

Deeming this as anomalous behaviour, MTF-Delta-42 (AKA The Sentinels) had been deployed and swept the building¹ finding the anomaly on the second floor in the manager's office along with what seemed to be the child's [DATA EXPUNGED] as the first responders had tearfully reported.

After supplementing Class B amnestics to the [REDACTED] police department and Class C amnestics to ████████'s parents, MTF-Delta-42 excavated SCP-5022 and transported it to Site-██-C, whereas of writing it still resides.

+ Incident #5022

During the week of ██/██/20██, after several tests conducted on SCP-5022 effect on inorganic material proved to be redundant, Dr.█████ the head researcher put in a request to move on to testing organic matter, which was approved by the O5 council. The following is a transcript of the first experiment.

The recording starts, with Dr.█████ facing the camera as the sole occupant of the containment, with the SCP behind them.

Dr.█████: This is Doctor █████ conducting Experiment #57 on SCP-5022. today we will be exposing, for the first time, an organic organism to SCP-5022"

He steps aside to reveal a hi-powered winch set up above the pit, with a sheep in a cage attached to the hook of the winch.

Dr.█████: The cable is made out of a steel and titanium alloy, the cage itself is made out of the same material.

The cage begins lowering with the sheep inside standing still and remaining quiet. 3 second after the cage is fully lowered in the pit the cable connected starts moving erratically,

He becomes slightly startled and moves back. The cable continues to swing for another 3 seconds before abruptly returning to the centre of the circle and ceases all movement.

Dr.█████ then turns towards the window and nods, before looking back at the winch and shifts towards it

Dr.█████: …It seems whatever this anomaly is, or whatever is residing in it seems t-

He leans down and submerges his face beyond the threshold, he immediately starts thrashing.

The door swings open, two guards and one other researcher rushes in.

Dr. ██████: GET HIM OUT!

All three men grab onto Dr.█████and hoist him from the threshold, he immediately goes limp once he exits. His eyes, nose ears and mouth appear to be bleeding.

Dr.█████: [Mumbling] …It's hungry we made it hungry. It's hungry we made it hungry. It's hungry we made it hungry. It's hungry we made it hungry. It's hungry we made it hungry.

He continues to repeat this phrase, as SCP-5022 starts to increase in area exponentially, as the other three try to carry Dr.█████. They escape from the room while the camera falls into the darkness.

Shortly thereafter the incident, the Foundation had tried to stave off the growth of SCP-5022 with multiple methods. Including rituals, sacrifices, and ritual sacrifices, however, none had any effect on the anomaly and in some cases seemed to quicken the process, leading to a massive containment breach.

It continued to grow for ██ hours until it had encompassed everything within radius eventually growing up to █████m in diameter, it was when it reached Site-11B that it interacted with SCP-059 and by association Delta Radiation.

It was reported that the anomaly seemed to pulsate when close to its containment chamber, and quickly retreated. It was then that MTF-Delta-42 had set up Delta radiation emitters around the circumference of SCP-5022 with it rippling and pulsating whenever it got within a 5m distance from the emitters.

It was eventually caged back into its origin point where a new team lead by Dr. ██████ quickly set up its new containment procedure and a new class.

1. The building had been abandoned since 19██, due to the company going bankrupt after several employee disappearances. Whether the anomaly was the cause of it has not been confirmed.
