A typical manifestation of SCP-XXXX-1 within SCP-XXXX-3

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-2 is to be removed from a wall it has manifested upon by cutting into the surfaces around it, giving at least five (5) centimetres of space between the doorframe and the incision. If a floor or ceiling/roof intersects this gap, then the intersecting material must also be included in the removal. The door and included material must then be moved into a secure, soundproof room or container. Observation of the door must be maintained at all times, as failure to observe the door for more than ten (10) seconds will result in it disappearing and manifesting elsewhere. Care should be taken to not cause any damage to SCP-XXXX-2. Personnel must wear ear protection if working with or near SCP-XXXX-2.

Description: SCP-XXXX-1 is a humanoid figure from the waist up, and features a large serpentine body from the waist down, and stands at approximately three metres, though its tail is estimated to be up to an extra five metres in length. The humanoid torso holds five arms, with two shoulders at each side and one placed near the top of the sternum. The centre arm ends in a symmetrical hand with an extra thumb and forefinger in place of its last two fingers. Its head is describable as "mannequin-like," lacking any hair or facial features. The only notable feature is the existence of ear-
like protrusions on either side of its head, but examination of photographs have shown these to lack an ear canal.

SCP-XXXX-2 is a square wooden door approximately 1 metre by 2.2 metres in size, set into a doorframe of rectangular wooden beams approximately 15 centimetres in width. SCP-XXXX does not have a "fixed" material or appearance, as such details vary between manifestations. Initial testing suggests these details are only constant when it appears for the same subject more than once. SCP-XXXX-2 will choose a subject through unknown conditions and materialize on the closest bare wall to them, its appearance chosen to best appeal to the subject. SCP-XXXX-2 has been observed to display intricate carvings, paints or dyes, inlays of a secondary wood type, posters, signs in varying languages, and more. Subjects universally report the door as being appealing to look at, and some report recognizing the door as being from a childhood home or favourite location.

SCP-XXXX-2 will only manifest on an unobserved section of bare wall large enough to fit the doorframe. Once manifested, it will only open if exactly one person is present and observing it. Any damage done to the door or doorframe will cause it to immediately demanifest, as will leaving it unobserved. Once manifested, if only one person is present in the same room and observing it, the door will open to reveal a vertical surface of what appears to be a rippling metallic liquid with a similar appearance to mercury, and the sound of a single chime of a bell will emit from the door. Only the closest subject will be capable of hearing the bell, and will begin to feel a compulsion to enter SCP-XXXX-2. If unrestrained, the subject will pass through the liquid without visibly disturbing it, and SCP-XXXX-2 will close behind them and demanifest for exactly one hour before manifesting in the same spot once more and forcibly ejecting the subject. All attempts at using robotic surveillance to enter the door have been met with immediate loss of contact with and permanent disappearance of the robot. See Experiment Log 3 for details.

The interior of SCP-XXXX-2 is a pocket dimension of indeterminate size, referred to as SCP-XXXX-3. SCP-XXXX-3 typically has a new, unique appearance each time it is entered, and despite being completely unfamiliar to the subject, is reported to produce a strong sense of familiarity with the subject. SCP-XXXX-3 has been demonstrated to be able to simulate areas up to 40 kilometres in radius, though it is hypothesized that it is capable of extending far beyond this range. SCP-XXXX-3 appears to be subject to the complete control of SCP-XXXX-1, though the only interview with XXXX-1 suggests that it does not have any control over the door.

SCP-XXXX-2 was discovered on ██/██/19██ when it appeared in the cell of D-273591. D-273591's cell was accessed for the subject's use in testing, only to discover SCP-XXXX-2 in the cell instead of the class-D personnel.
