Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a 5m room, with two guards stationed by the door. Only personnel with Level 3 clearance are allowed entry to the room. Per the information learned from Incident XXXXA, containment procedures have changed drastically. SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a 5m x 5m x 5m airtight room, with walls 30 cm thick and made of a mixture of chromium and steel. Air quality is to be checked every hour for any toxic substance and regularly filtered. Ten guards are to be situated outside the room in case of an instance of SCP-XXXX-2 appearing. SCP-XXXX is to be monitored constantly. Only personnel with Level 4 clearance are allowed entry to the room.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a 20 cm x 20 cm x 20 cm gray sphere that exists in both our dimension and SCP-XXXX-1. Upon approaching(in either dimension), SCP-XXXX is seen to levitate around 1 m in the air. SCP-XXXX then turns to black over 20 - 30 seconds. When this has occurred, SCP-XXXX is considered active and must be monitored and contained until it returns to its normal state. Any instance of SCP-XXXX-2 that appears is to be terminated on sight. Touching SCP-XXXX while it is active is highly discouraged and serves as its punishment, as anyone who does so will be immediately transported into SCP-XXXX-1.
SCP-XXXX-1 is an alternate dimension. This dimension is similar to ours in geography and physics. Agents who have entered SCP-XXXX-1 describe it as pitch-black with little to no visibility. Fauna and man-made buildings that exist in our reality have both been seen by Agent █████████ and his team. The ground and previously mentioned buildings are covered in black, root-like growths that are very similar in composition and appearance to the roots of Populus tremuloides(Aspen tree). As of this moment, the only known way to enter SCP-XXXX-1 is SCP-XXXX.
Missions sent to gather information from SCP-XXXX-1 have revealed that it contains humans and animals identical to our dimension, along with humanoid entities similar in body physique to [REDACTED]. These entities will from now on be referred to as SCP-XXXX-2.
SCP-XXXX-2 is a humanoid creature. Height is approximately 2.6 m. It is completely black with no discernible facial features. Its arms are longer than its legs, so it is able to walk on all fours comfortably or walk bipedally. SCP-XXXX-2 is passive towards most entities and actions. However, if an entity within 200 m sits or lies down, SCP-XXXX-2, presumably seeing this as a sign of weakness, will run towards the aforementioned entity at an average speed of 50 m/s. Alternate actions such as shooting at or attacking the creatures will provoke them into a rage state as well. Once it arrives at the entity, it will [REDACTED] until the victim has expired. Recovered bodies show large lacerations on the victim’s torso and head.
Discovery: SCP-XXXX was found in the basement of an elderly couple’s home in 19██, near Stevensville, █████████. The SCP Foundation was alerted to the presence of SCP-XXXX after the disappearance of several people along with their belongings plagued the town. MTF-17 moved in to capture the object, only to find out that touching the object would displace them from our reality and deposit them in SCP-XXXX-1. All members of MTF-17 who were transported into the alternate dimension returned physically healthy, but their mental health was very unstable.
Addendum XXXX-1: Below is an audio log from Agent █████████'s exploration into SCP-XXXX-1.
Addendum XXXX-2: None of the members of Agent █████████’s team made it back alive except for MTF ███. As the log shows, Agent █████████ and his team encountered two instances of SCP-XXXX-2. The log reveals that the creature has a [REDACTED], which has been confirmed by further ventures into SCP-XXXX-1 with video recording equipment. Another previously unknown phenomenon discovered by this expedition is that fauna that exists in our dimension exists in SCP-XXXX-1 as well, albeit slightly different. The Bos taurus(common cattle) encountered by Agent █████████ and his team were described as having “moss and fungus growing on them”; indeed, cattle brought back from later expeditions had fungi similar in shape to Grifola frondosa(maitake mushroom) while also being black. The cattle were not aware of their surroundings as their eyes had either rotted away or had been removed. The cattle sat placidly as sections of their flesh were removed for closer examination, and did not appear affected. Their blood had been contaminated with a viscous substance later identified as [REDACTED], which changed its color to black. Evidence shows that these cows were not originally contaminated with this substance; rather, they inhaled it, which allowed it to enter their bloodstream via the lungs. Immediately after this discovery was made, all members of the previous expeditions were examined for contamination by this unknown substance. All but two of the people who entered SCP-XXXX-1 were found to contain the substance in varying amounts in their bloodstream. The members of the previous expeditions have been placed under quarantine and have [REDACTED], with 21 victims now semi-conscious and 32 [REDACTED]. 13 of the victims have reached a similar state as to the cows, in which their bodies' nerves are unresponsive so the victim cannot feel pain. 3 of the victims have shown no sign of discomfort or illness and are believed to be immune. Further expeditions and missions into SCP-XXXX-1 will now be outfitted with breathing apparatuses and completely sealed, airtight suits.
Incident XXXXA: For the first time since the containment of SCP-XXXX, an instance of SCP-XXXX-2 exited SCP-XXXX. MTF-17 was on a recon mission, as a town had been discovered in SCP-XXXX-1 with human life. The town was in a state of disarray, as many of its citizens had succumbed to the unknown substance in the air and had become [REDACTED], or had been sitting or lying down outside, usually ending up victims of SCP-XXXX-2. However, the remaining immune people had formed a small group and were hiding out inside their houses from over ███ instances of SCP-XXXX-2, which had detected their presence inside, and were now standing right outside the windows of the buildings. Having brought the catatonic victims back into our reality, MTF-17 attempted to fight off the instances of SCP-XXXX-2 to retrieve the citizens inside the houses. The task force was quickly overwhelmed by the creatures and was forced to retreat into SCP-XXXX to return to base. However, as MTF-17 exited SCP-XXXX, three instances of SCP-XXXX-2 exited SCP-XXXX along with them. Immediately the east wing of Site-██ was put on lockdown as MTF-17 tried to destroy the instances of SCP-XXXX-2, sustaining heavy injuries and losses. The situation was eventually controlled, but not before losing [REDACTED] members of MTF-17. Post-expedition escapes by SCP-XXXX-2 have become much less frequent after MTF-17 constructed a small base of operations inside SCP-XXXX-1.
