Special Containment Procedures:SCP-XXX is held on Foundation Site 47. A 5km x 4km iron mining facility has been built on site to disguise SCP-XXX.Personnel with clearance less than level 3 are forbidden to be on site 47. Personnel with security clearance less than level 4 are forbidden to directly interact with SCP-XXX.
Description:SCP-XXX is a circular cratered area measuring about 3,000 meters in diameter on the side of a hill in [REDACTED], Arizona. Records dating about 1866 show a western city on this site. Since then, there has been no records of this area changing, contrary to its current appearance.
SCP-XXX shows anomalous properties when viewed by human subjects (referred to SCP-XXX-1 henceforth). At times of day fluctuating between 7:00-18:00. Multiple test subjects have decribed seeing "ghosts" of buildings, animals, and people estimated to be from the 19th century. These anomalies don't engage with SCP-XXX-1 and don't seem to notice SCP-XXX-1 either. Encounters of these anomalies last from two (2) to six (6) minutes long. Subjects have encountered a variety of scenes. Attempts to record SCP-XXX have failed, as figures do not appear on digital cameras.
About four minutes into an encounter, SCP-XXX-1 may experience feelings of discomfort or paranoia, often followed by violent actions and yelling. This behavior has been encountered about 42% of total tests. After this occurs, SCP-XXX-1 are not able to recall these feelings or what they saw during these events. What SCP-XXX-1 experiences to cause these behaviors is unknown.
SCP-XXX came to The Foundation's attention on █/█/1978, when screams were heard from the site and reported to local authorities. When Foundation agents discovered the anomalous affects of SCP-XXX, witnesses were given Class-E anesthetics. Construction of Site-47 was completed on 7/3/1978. (See Special Containment Procedures)
