Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is currently impossible to contain. Research into possible methods to contain the anomaly are ongoing.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a female humanoid entity of unknown composition, measuring roughly 1.5m in height. Its facial features, clothing and demeanour vary between manifestations, and no pattern in these changes has been observed.
SCP-XXXX appears only in the presence of humans who have been mortally wounded in combat, hereby designated SCP-XXXX-A. The entity often appears to engage the dying subject in conversation, before demanifesting on the instant of death. Subjects often appear calmer and more relaxed in the company of the entity even despite massive trauma, although it is unknown whether this is a mild memetic effect or simply a natural emotional response. SCP-XXXX-A often refer to the entity as their mother, and will engage the SCP-XXXX in conversation regarding family or friends, unless they are too injured to do so.
When observed by outsiders, SCP-XXXX instead appears to be a male battlefield medic of roughly the same height, bearing the uniform of the group that the -A instance belongs to. Onlookers rarely take notice of the entity, even if it places itself in their field of vision or attends to someone under extremely unsafe circumstances. When asked about the entity, most simply respond that SCP-XXXX is "just doing their job".
According to Foundation records, sightings of the entity date back as far as the Gothic War in the late 4th Century AD. However, they became more commonplace in the mid-1800s, and sightings remain frequent. Initially dismissed as trauma-induced hallucinations or elaborate storytelling, the Foundation began to investigate once SCP-XXXX appeared to MTF Epsilon-6 ("Village Idiots") during a failed operation.
