Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5298 must be kept in a large concrete room with an area of 12 meters and a height of 6 meters. Anyone willing to enter must at all times wear a pair of thick leather gloves, long pants ending at the feet (preferably jeans), and a long sleeve jacket. Under no circumstances can anyone come into physical contact with SCP-5298 without protection or the victim will be eliminated. Anyone who tries to exit SCP-5298's containment area who shows symptoms of a headache are not permitted to leave until a blood sample has been taken. If the blood sample shows signs of microscopic crystals the victim will be eliminated.
Description: SCP-5298 resembles a large, dark red, quartz crystal standing approximately 3 meters (10 ft) high and approximately 6 meters (19 ft) wide. Any biological objects that have in some way physically contacted SCP-5298 will immediately start to feel a mild headache for at least 1-3 hours. Approximelally 24 hours after any biological object has come into contact with SCP-5298, the entity will begin felling extreme pain from the limb they have contacted SCP-5298 with and small red quartz shards will start rupturing out from the subjects' skin. After 48 hours of physically contacting SCP-5298 the entire limb in which the biological entity has contacted the SCP will be crystalized in either dark-red or light-red quartz crystals which somewhat resemble SCP-5298 itself and will be in excruciating pain. 50 hours after coming into contact with SCP-5298 the biological entity will be completely encased in red crystals and is now considered to be SCP-5298-1. Currently, only 13 reported cases of SCP-5298-1 are known. Tests on SCP-5298 using inanimate objects have been conducted, and the results show that inanimate objects coming into contact with SCP-5298 show no effect of crystallization and can even be handled by biological entities without risk.
If a biological entity has accidentally come into contact with SCP-5298 without protection there is no way to stop them converting into SCP-5298-1 because microscopic crystals have already entered the victim's bloodstream and will eventually convert the victim into SCP-5298-1. Although amputating or cutting off the blood flow of the limb that has come into physical contact with SCP-5298 will slow down the process by a day or so, converting into SCP-5298-1 after touching SCP-5298 is inevitable.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5298-1 must be kept in a small concrete room witch needs to be at least 5 meters wide and 3 meters high and can be no less than 5 meters apart from SCP-5298. It also must have a clear visible way of looking at SCP-5298. Under no permission is anyone without a level Level 3 security clearance is able to access SCP-5298-1's containment. If SCP-5298-1 manages to escape or someone converts into SCP-5298-1 it must be shot immediately. When dealing with the rare escape of SCP-5298-1 guards must wear 30 millimeter thick gloves, long pants ending at the feet, long sleeve jackets with armor, and a helmet. Anyone who comes into contact with SCP-5298-1 without protection must be eliminated on-site.
Description: SCP-2598-1 is a contagious, probable parasitic organism that stands no taller than its host counterpart. SCP-2598-1 is covered in rows and rows of either dark-red or light-red crystals, long and slender limbs, and a pyramid-like head. Making physical contact with SCP-5298-1 without protection results in the host converting into SCP-5298-1 over the course of 2-3 days. SCP-5298-1 has a strange obsession with SCP-5298 as if SCP-5298-1 is less then 5 meters away from SCP-5298, it will start to turn extremely hostile to any organism and will locate and hunt down SCP-5298. In a few instances, SCP-5298-1 has been observed worshiping SCP-5298 like a god, with the longest recorded instance of this happening lasting 12 hours. SCP-5298-1 has the strange ability to manipulate and change the form of any crystal on its body for uses of defense. This is used most effectively when dealing with humans as SCP-5298-1 will manipulate its arm and hand crystals to form a 110 to 130-cm long blade which has the ability to slice a human in half.
SCP-5298-1 is very agile and lightweight, only weighing 5.2 kilograms. Because of this SCP-5298-1 has the ability to run up to speeds of 35km per hour, however, it has been hypothesized that its top speed exceeds 50km per hour given space and room. A consequence of this, however, is that it is very vulnerable to gunshots, as only a dozen or so shots at its head or torso should be enough to kill it.1
