Object Class: Keter

SCP-XXXX-PNG-1

A photograph of SCP-XXXX at site-BBH2.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is currently at Site-BBH2 (Big Black Hole Two) and has stayed there for 4 weeks from the date 8/11/20██. At this point there is no apparent way to contain SCP-XXXX at an official site permanently due to the nature of the SCP. For all intents and purposes this SCP should be seen as a constant, ongoing threat and any instances of SCP-XXXX should be instantly reported and documented, with Dr.██████ and any other necessary personnel on-site as soon as possible to protect civilians that may be unintentionally subjected to the anomaly; If SCP-XXXX should stay in the same spot for more than two days a temporary site should be constructed around the anomaly to conduct field tests.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an apparent spherical object, which with the visible eye looks completely pitch-black with no visible light coming from its surface or from within. It has no weight, gravitational pull or apparent mass; The only two types of detectable information is a constant, low radiation of Gamma-rays and the information it gives out when in 'Talk' mode. The internal structure is currently unmapped and appears to change and warp depending on what it says previously in 'talk' mode.

What is known about this anomaly is that it is some sort of spatial warping object that appears in and out of existence at seemingly random places around Earth, with only two recorded outliers where it was seen on the ELT's (Extremely Large Telescope) orbiting close to Jupiter's red spot (SCP-2399) approximately 80,000 KM (Kilometres) on 10/6/2017, staying there for 5 Earth days, and over Mars on the 2/11/2017, staying at the planet for 1 full Earth week. It is unclear if SCP-XXXX and SCP-2399 are linked, however they seem more different then first suggested, as SCP-XXXX does not seem to have the same apparent goals as SCP-2399 and speaks in a very different language.

Note: to see more information on SCP-2399, see corresponding files named as such.

The slow radiation that emits from SCP-XXXX has no clear origin within the anomaly and can only be hypothesised that it comes from some sort of power supply or generator that uses a radioactive substance, possibly uranium. During the SCP's 'hibernated' state the surface in impenetrable, protected by unknown forces, all attempt during the 'hibernative' state to penetrate the surface has been futile and all further attempts should be discouraged. However after 'talk' mode has been activated and passed the surface seems to 'open up' and becomes penetrable, attempts to go beyond the surface during this period will be documented and logged for further research.

SCP-XXXX-C1

Document of known circles that SCP-XXXX produces.

'Talk' mode is the given name to when the anomaly seems to 'turn on', creating high-pitch whistle-like sounds and different sized circles depicted on the anomaly's surface, originating from within SCP-XXXX. These circles are under the file name SCP-XXXX-C1 (clearance level 3 needed to view). The whistle-like sounds and circles can be interpreted as some sort of language or code being transmitted by whatever or whoever is inside the object (given the name SCP-XXXX-1); certain pitches of the whistles corelate with certain symbols, although at this moment the sounds and circles have not been deciphered and their meaning is still unknown.

Note: One instance of a possible translation has been discovered through D-4921 while executing SCP-XXXX-I4

The first instance of SCP-XXXX was recorded on the ISS (International Space Station) in 20██ by Peggy Whitson (a member of Expedition 5), logged voice recordings of this incident is under the file name SCP-XXXX-VR1. All other instances of SCP-XXXX are and should be documented in some detail in SCP-XXXX-I, any instances of SCP-XXXX staying in the same spot for more than two weeks and any tests that are performed on the anomaly should be in their own respected files, named SCP-XXXX-I1, I2, I3 and so on. (Currently there are 5 files of tests.)

Addendum:

SCP-XXXX-VR1

Incident: SCP-XXXX Spotted on the ISS by Peggy Whitson of the Expedition 5 team.

Person: Peggy Whitson

Foreword: Peggy is currently on a spacewalk, outside of PMA 3 Docking port, fixing a broken antennae. Date: 1/5/20██ 15:22.

<Begin Log>

Peggy: Okay Valery, can you see me?

Valery: Clearly on Camera ████, you look calm and collected out there for someone who hasn't had a spacewalk for a couple of weeks.

Peggy: Well I do have some training under my belt to help with that, I would like to think I was trained well.

Valery: Copy that 'laughs'. Otherwise we are all in grave danger.

(Peggy can be seen pushing the antennae back into the correct spot.)

Aleksandr: Okay, looks like I'm getting back the signal, good work Peg.

Peggy: Ugh, you know I hate being called that, However, that's good news. Now can I come back in please. Over.

Valery: Just a couple more checks on the systems and you can be all clear to come back inside.

(Some static can be heard within Peggy's headset)

Peggy: Valery, Aleksandr, I seem to be having interference with my internal headset in my suit, do you copy?

(Interference with Peggy's internal headset stops her from communicating with Valery and Aleksandr.)

Peggy: Can anybody hear me? Has the antennae been fixed?

(A slight humming over the static can be heard from Peggy's point of view.)

Peggy: What is that sound?! Valery? Aleksandr? Are you guys hearing this? Over.

Peggy: Look, if you can hear me I'm sorry but I am coming back in, clearly there is a malfunction in my suit.

(Peggy can be seen trying to open the docking port door)

Peggy: I… I can't open the docking port, can someone please open it from the inside, over.

(Low humming can be heard within Peggy's headset getting louder. Peggy is still trying to open the door from the outside.)

(Meanwhile, all camera feeds shut off, only audio from Peggy's recording software in her suit can be played)

Peggy: Okay, Okay, the joke is over now guys. I'm starting to get a bit freaked out out here, can someone please let me in, over.

Peggy: Erm… Guys? It looks like something inside Dock 3, it… It looks like an orb, like a black hole? Valery, can you see it from the cams? Over?

Peggy: It isn't a smudge or anything, I can tell it is in 3D space, It is there and it's inside, anyone please answer me! Over!

(Loud, whistle-like sounds are being emitted over the headset.)

Peggy: Aagh, What is that sound?! Aleksandr, anyone please, over!

Peggy: It hurts… Please…

Peggy: It's… Blinding. I can't see…

Peggy: Oh my God… What… Is it doing? Can anyone else see this… I… I feel faint… Guys are you seeing this? Hearing this? It seems to be… Doing something! Ugh, it's so loud! Please… Stop… It… Help…

All data and recordings on the ISS from this point forward until the disappearance of SCP-XXXX has been heavily corrupted by unknown means and cannot be played or salvaged. It is known that after the SCP disappeared, Peggy was found floating a little over a meter away from the docking port, she was brought in and after around 5 minutes awoke. After being sent back to Earth and taken in and interviewed by SCP personnel, Peggy had no useful information that we couldn't ascertain from the audio recordings and was given Class C amnestics; All other members of Expedition 5 reported no anomalies on cameras or their headsets and did not see anything other than static and assumed it was just a glitch in the software, no amnestics needed.

After 3 months of not seeing SCP-XXXX anywhere on Earth or in space, there was a sighting from one of our field agents in the United Kingdom, ████████. After two days of SCP-XXXX being at the same spot, as it states in containment procedures, a temporary sight was put up to monitor it given the nickname Site-BBH1 (Big Black Hole One), however after two more days it moved again, only 8 miles South. It was found in the home of ███████ █████████. Another temporary site was set up (given the nickname Site-BBH2 (Big Black Hole Two). Due to the nature of this SCP the sight is roughly built and only holds basic supplies to research and monitor the SCP in it's current position.

It is unknown at this time if within these 3 months after the incident on the ISS or previous to the first siting, where SCP-XXXX goes or if it showed up anywhere on Earth or otherwise.

SCP-XXXX-I1

Subject: SCP-XXXX field test 1, testing the ability to 'probe' the anomaly's inside.

Procedure: D-3990 has been strapped to a harness with a maximum of 5m (Metres) of high-strength steel rope. 3990 was also given a Gamma-ray spectrometer, an electric torch and a simple video camera.

Results: 3990 walked towards the anomaly; They got roughly 60cm (Centre Metres) from the 'surface' of the SCP when Gamma-rays spiked from 250 MsV (Millisievert) to 5,000 MsV. 3990 was asked to come away.

Analysis: Because of the high spike of radiation it is incredibly dangerous to complete close-up experiments by non-disposable staff, from now on only D-class personell are allowed within 1m of the SCP.

Note: Being exposed to 6,000 MsV's and higher for only 5 seconds is enough to give a human severe radiation poisoning, killing them within 1 month.

SCP-XXXX-I2

Subject: SCP-XXXX field test 2, testing the ability to 'probe' the anomaly's inside.

Procedure: D-3990 was given a radiation suit for safety as well as all other equipment from field test 1.

Results: 3990 walked towards the anomaly, the spike to 5,000 MsV at 60cm was recorded again. 3990 continued to walk towards the SCP and was able to get 5cm from the 'surface' when radiation spiked to 8,000 MsV. 3990 was then instructed to place the spectrometer inside the anomaly. 3990 commented on how cold it felt inside of SCP-XXXX and said that it was 'fucking freezing'; When they took out the spectrometer it read 25,500 MsV.

Analysis: Whatever is producing the radiation is somehow being absorbed or refracted by the surface of the SCP and is way too strong within to allow any normal lifeforms to go inside. Also at that radiation level all typical recording equipment should not work.

Note: The radiation suit given to 3990 will do nothing to protect them as for the extremely high radiation that they have been subjected to, they are expected to pass within a week.

SCP-XXXX-I3

Subject: SCP-XXXX field test 3, going inside the anomaly to map contents.

Procedure: After heavy research into SCP-059 and SCP-059-1, some highly advanced, anti-radiation suits have been created, as well as █████████ pills laced with ████████ █████████████████ was given to D-4921 to help slow radiation absorption down so they can obtain an adequate amount of data.

Results: D-4921 put their head inside the anomaly, they mentioned they 'only see black'. They were encouraged to step inside and record what they find, they stepped inside and
