Mr Sato

Item# SCP-XXX

Object Classification: Euclid.

Special Containment Procedure: SCP-XXX Is to be kept inside a lead-lined containment cell thirty meters below ground with radiation-proof glass for observation, a small opening to allow the subject to receive items which can be sealed at a moment’s notice is also to be included. The room must be lit by non-electronic means as well as a non-electronic form of communication that maintains the containment of radiation. The area around the cell must be enclosed in a sphere with a circumference of roughly fifteen meters, constructed out of concrete, for containment of a Meltdown Event

Physical contact with the subject is strictly forbidden under any circumstances. Communication is permitted with SCP-XXX, however, the maximum amount of people permitted to interact with the subject must be restricted to three at a time. Communication must be conducted within an isolation room and all members of staff must be decontaminated upon exit. All staff must wear hazmat suits while in the observation room.

If a staff member is directly exposed to the radiation they are to report to the nearest medical centre immediately due to a high risk of contracting an extremely fast spreading cancer that occurs as a result of the radiation.

Because of the fragile mental state of SCP-XXX, the subject is to be constantly supplied with new reading material in order to keep the subject calm and it's mind stimulated. the subject is to be provided with a reading list from which it can choose no more than three books per week. Casual conversation and meaningful discussions are encouraged.

If a Meltdown is to occur, the cell, as well as the accompanying observation room, will be sealed regardless of the presence of staff inside. Access to SCP-XXX requires the approval of an administrator with a clearance level 3 or higher

Description: SCP-XXX is a 1.7-meter tall male humanoid. its skin has been burnt off and bone is visible in some areas. its eyes are black and glossy. despite deformities, the subject has no issue communicating with staff. upon questioning, the subject clarified that he was Japanese and local to the Hiroshima area.

the subject emits a powerful EMP that is effective up to a ten-meter radius around the subject at any given time. lethal amounts of radiation have also been detected in his near vicinity.

It has been observed that SCP-XXX does not require nourishment to survive, claiming that it doesn’t feel hunger. Further observation showed that the subject does not need to sleep either, spending hours on end wandering his cell. Dr. █████████ gave the order to turn off the oxygen to his cell. This too had no effect on the subject.

The subject was discovered on ██/██/19██ after receiving reports of a man with no skin wandering the streets of Hiroshima screaming a woman's name. upon confrontation with SCP-XXX, it was clarified that the subject was searching for its wife. The subject, upon arriving at the Foundation, maintained an outwardly calm demeanour.

The first containment cell SCP-XXX was placed in proved to be ineffective. It was suitable to prevent radiation leaks and electromagnetic pulses from rendering vital foundation equipment useless, but, the cell was ill-equipped to prevent an unforeseen ability possessed by the subject. If SCP-XXX is deprived of human contact, and its mental state is allowed to deteriorate to a certain extent, it will trigger an explosion with a force estimated to be a 20 kiloton yield. Unaware of this at the time, SCP staff did not provide the adequate care SCP-XXX required which resulted in a Meltdown Event.

Casualty report for Sato Meltdown:

  • Deaths: [data expunged]
  • Injuries: [data expunged]
  • No other SCPs were harmed or released.

SCP-XXX was almost completely unaffected by the blast, the only observable effects being memory loss of the minutes leading up to the explosion. More precautions were taken in the containment of SCP-XXX after the Meltdown.

Reports of a fast-spreading form of cancer began to appear in Hiroshima three months after SCP-XXX arrived at the Foundation. All patients who contracted the cancer came from the same area where the subject was retrieved, prompting an investigation. The cancer was directly linked to the radiation SCP-XXX emits and is unlike any forms of cancer currently known to man. All civilians and SCP foundation staff that were present in Hiroshima for the subject's extraction have died due to this cancer, the only living patients contracted the cancer post Meltdown. Medical staff have branded the cancer as “The Sato Tumour”.

Addendum: SCP-XXX is currently being held in Site-11 where it remains under twenty-four-hour watch by a member of the research staff.

due to the inability to use recording equipment within the isolation room, a stenographer is required to record conversations between SCP-XXX and researchers.

Dr A: Good morning, did you sleep well

SCP-XXX: …
