SCP-5757 Upper Atmosphere (zoom 10x)
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5757 must be held inside a modified containment unit of no less than 25x25x25 cm at site-81. Said containment unit is required to be equipped with ion-strengthened glass and oleophobic coating on the inside compartment. Two permanent magnetic rotors are to be placed above and below a diagonally placed SCP-5757. The two embedded rotors must be set at a constant speed of 1501 rpm, spinning the octahedron to prevent any foundation personnel touching SCP-5757.
During sampling procedures it is highly prohibited to apply direct skin contact to SCP-5757. Any gas samples gained from SCP-5757 must be hermetically sealed inside a glass test tube. Any extraction of gas samples are to be solely done by personnel with level-3 security clearance, wearing a complete hazmat suit and bearing a version 1.3 modified WO2017125548 Gas Extraction Device.
During testing procedures only test subjects given the designator SCP-5757-1 under the influence of anaesthesia can touch SCP-5757 for a maximum duration of 1 minute with 10 second intervals. See Testing Log 5757-01-S and Testing Log 5757-02-S.
Description: SCP-5757 is a medium sized extra-dimensional octahedron of approximately 15,01 cm in width and length, along with unknown carvings on each side displaying anthropomorphic symbols. Said object weighs 0,1501 * 102 kilograms and consists mostly of graphene, fluoride and ██████. SCP-5757 emits a frequency tone of 80 Hz upon touch by any bipedal living organism. When emitting this frequency, SCP-5757 shakes heavily and will release a dense black gas consisting mostly of sulphur dioxide (SO2) and an unknown metal referred to as: ████ trioxide (█O3). Any event of activating the release of the sulphur dioxide and ████ trioxide gas is given the tentative designator SCP-5757-A.
In the event of SCP-5757-A, one or more random symbol(s) will light up in a haphazard manner. Although no definitive correlation has been found relating to the glowing of any symbol and the object being not sentient, it is believed that SCP-5757 searches for a 'perfect' candidate. This candidate is believed to have led a near perfect life, following some rules SCP-5757 has set for an SCP-5757-1. Each symbol is presumed to represent a sinful human emotion. SCP-5757-1 is obligated to never have felt any of the emotions the symbols respresent. Only then will the respective symbol illuminate. See the given table below.

SCP-5757-1 will almost immediately feel great distress holding or touching the octahedron. Making it feel at extreme unease for the duration it is holding SCP-5757. The released black gas will consolidate with upper layers of surrounding skin tissue around the focal point of SCP-5757 making it turn black and crack like charcoal. This absorption of the gas will exponentially increase in speed over a period of time depending on the size and intelligence of the organism. The charring of the skin tissue will result in cries of pain and agony of SCP-5757-1, along with excessive apologizing and regret. Apologies mostly consist of sentences like “No, please stop”, “I’m so sorry, let me go” and "stop talking please". To this date, extended testing has shown that SCP-5757-1 is not able to remove the octahedron from any of its limbs capable of grip, after 1/3th of the body has charred black.
In the event of SCP-5757-A, SCP-5757-1 will go through different stages of transformation. A rough estimate is given:

Discovery log: SCP-5757 struck down from the upper atmosphere in the small town of Sørvær in Norway, on ██/04/1978. After numerous incidents, collectively known as The Ignition Event, were reported to the regional police department. MTF Epsilon-6 was sent to investigate the issue. The mobile task force reached the destination on ██/██/2017 ██:██ PM UTC +1. and was quickly met by a died out village. The smell of burned dead bodies ran through the noses of all agents, resulting in a quick formation of multiple teams narrowing down the source of the anomaly. Not long after, the source was found. A low frequency tone was picked up, followed by an outcry of agony and pain. A man in his late ██'s was found screaming for help inside a local church, holding the object in his right arm and claiming he was not capable of releasing the object from his grip. The man wore a black robe with red outlines, believed to be the pastor of that church. 60% of the body of the pastor was charred black. A black gas was seen being absorbed by the skin, causing this charring. Within a timespan of 25 seconds, his eyes were blackened, pupils and irises glowed white, full charring of the body, deepening of the voice and eventual death through implosion into SCP-5757.
SCP-5757 originaly resided in a small hardwood chest, presumably wrapped in an off-white blanket for almost 39 years. It was likely picked up by locals and put there at that time. After the 39 years of hibernation, residents of Sørvær are thought to have found SCP-5757 in the hardwood chest located in the basement of the local Catholic Church. Based on the fact that the pastor was the last living human in Sørvær, residents are believed to either have sacrificed themselves in name of the church, or left Sørvær.
SCP-5757 was put in a 50x50x50 meter steel container, still residing in its hardwood chest and cloth. A coverstory was given to the local media. The small village of Sørvær almost got hit by a meteor. The meteor exploded right above the village, causing public fear and the eventual decampment of Sørvær.

Notes:
After applying 30 mg of morphine anaesthetics directly into SCP-5757-1's bloodstream located in the left shoulder, the subject was asked to touch SCP-5757 with his left index finger after it stopped spinning and was placed on a marmer pedestal. As recorded on body camera's of nearby personnel, SCP-5757 is seen shaking increasingly violent immediately after SCP-5757-1 begins pressing its index finger onto de octahedron. SCP-5757 begins releasing its black smoke and the finger is quickly turned black, a cracking sound can be heard along with an 80 Hz tone. At this point SCP-5757-1 is showing facial expressions to that of pain. The subject is seen to make efforts of releasing his finger from SCP-5757, throwing the object towards the left wall of the containment chamber. Therefore concluding this test run. No gas samples were able to be extracted.
