Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5054 is to be contained in a 4m x 4m airtight steel cube, containing a 3m in radius cylinder-shaped concrete water tank and valve to enable the water to flow throughout the chamber. The water inside the tank must be from 60-80 degrees Fahrenheit (26.7-15 Celsius). In the event of SCP-5054 breaching containment, one (1) D-Class personnel are to enter SCP-5054's containment chamber and turn the valve to the left to allow the water to fill SCP-5054's containment chamber to contain SCP-5054.
Those infected with SCP-5054, which are referred to as SCP-5054-2 are to be contained in a similar airtight chamber as SCP-5054, but with slight modifications. They are to be given a small rectangular hole in the wall to be given food and nutrients. There is to be an exact copy of the water tank inside of SCP-5054's containment chamber inside of SCP-5054-2's containment chamber. Under no circumstances are they allowed to exit their containment chamber as to not spread SCP-5054. Once (1) per day, the water inside the concrete tank inside of SCP-5054-2's containment chamber is to be opened and the water is to submerge all SCP-5054-2 instances in an attempt to deter SCP-5054 in early-stage patients.
Description: SCP-5054 is a highly contagious virus that spreads through the heat that is created by individuals infected by the disease. Symptoms of SCP-5054 take one (1)-two (2) weeks to appear. These symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, and most noticeably, patches of small lumps that are referred to as SCP-5054-1 around the body. Instances of SCP-5054-1 are similar in shape and size to pimples, but upon touching SCP-5054-1, SCP-5054-1 will burst to reveal an inside that consists of a reddish-green substance of the same consistency of bone. We currently can not identify what this material is made from, or what the origin of it is. Later stages of SCP-5054 include the said symptoms, but much more intense. SCP-5054-1 instances will become more common around the entire body, and instead of popping out like pimples, any non-touched instances of SCP-5054 will begin to cave in and create small holes all over the body. The final stage of SCP-5054 is when the holes on SCP-5054-2 will have become so large, that blood and other bodily fluids will begin to pour from them. Eventually, SCP-5054-2 will die from blood loss.
It appears that SCP-5054 can be re-contained via pouring cold water over it. The temperature of this water has to be from 60-80 degrees Fahrenheit (26.7-15 Celsius). The reason of this seems to be because SCP-5054 can only spread through heat, cold water can stop it from spreading.
