Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
Foundation Neural Networks ΛΦ-47563IX2 ("Don't Worry About It") and ΨΓ-13CV34R7 ("Forgive and Forget") are to monitor all distress signals from Sites without on-site AICs and/or other non-biological personnel for references to symptoms resembling an SCP-XXXX outbreak. Should a majority of symptoms be detected with a confidence of over 95%, SCP-XXXX Quarantine Protocol α is to be transmitted to affected Site.
In the event of an SCP-XXXX outbreak, all visual and auditory monitoring of the given room will be restricted to non-biological personnel, and all doors will be sealed. A combination of Class-C Amnestics and an airborne incapacitating agent will be pumped into affected room to prevent viewing of affected individual by any present personnel. Personnel with a Cognitive Resistance Value (CRV) of no less than 13 are to be instructed to dispose of affected body/bodies, preferably by incineration. Disposal personnel are then to transmit an all-clear signal to FNN ΛΦ-47563IX2 or ΨΓ-13CV34R7 depending on which Neural Net detected the outbreak. Relevant data is to then be securely transmitted to a Site with an AIC and/or other non-biological personnel and promptly wiped from local storage. Disposal personnel will then be instructed to take a Class-A amnestic, orally, intravenously, or otherwise. Incident will then be logged by ΛΦ-47563IX2 or ΨΓ-13CV34R7.
If no all-clear is received within 4 hours, a team from MTF-η-10 ("See No Evil") is to be dispatched for a cleanup/investigation operation.
On Sites with an on-site AIC and/or other non-biological personnel, said personnel are to monitor security feeds for the signs of an SCP-XXXX outbreak. Should they be detected with a confidence of over 98.5%, SCP-XXXX Quarantine Protocol β is to be enacted.
In the event of an SCP-XXXX outbreak, all visual and auditory monitoring of the given room will be restricted to non-biological personnel, and all doors will be sealed. Disposal personnel are then to be instructed to take a Class-A amnestic, orally, intravenously, or otherwise. Incident will then be logged by on-site AIC and relevant data will be filed accordingly, and restricted to non-biological personnel.
In the rare event of an SCP-XXXX incident occurring in public, standard Class-Δ Blackout Procedures are to be enacted.
Please, do not look into SCP-XXXX. Do not try to find out more. Please, trust us.

SCP-XXXX Quarantine Protocol α
In the event of an SCP-XXXX outbreak, all visual and auditory monitoring of the given room will be restricted to non-biological personnel, and all doors will be sealed. A combination of Class-C Amnestics and an airborne incapacitating agent will be pumped into affected room to prevent viewing of affected individual by any present personnel. SCP-XXXX Quarantine Protocol β
In the event of an SCP-XXXX outbreak, all visual and auditory monitoring of the given room will be restricted to non-biological personnel, and all doors will be sealed. A combination of Class-A Amnestics and an airborne incapacitating agent will be pumped into affected room to prevent viewing of affected individual by any present personnel. Personnel with a Cognitive Resistance Value (CRV) of no less than 13 are to be instructed to dispose of affected body/bodies, preferably by incineration. In the rare event of an SCP-XXXX incident occurring in public, standard Class-Δ Blackout Procedures are to be enacted.
Any details as to the nature of SCP-XXXX are to be strictly restricted from biological personnel. No exceptions exist, nor are any such exceptions planned. Sites are to be monitored in the manner outlined in the above Quarantine Protocols. If any biological personnel are found attempting to gain access to this file, a warning suggesting that they don't look in to SCP-XXXX is to be displayed. If said individual continues to attempt to gain access to this file, they are to be locked out of said computer and Site Administration is to be notified. Any and all data relevant to a SCP-XXXX incident is to be stored on a secure server to be analyzed by non-biological personnel. Research into the development of a successful memetic inoculation is ongoing.
Description: The exact nature of SCP-XXXX is not currently known, as direct observation is currently impossible. The best current understanding of SCP-XXXX, as deducted by working backwards from collected data of SCP-XXXX incidents, is as follows.
SCP-XXXX is thought to be composed of two interrelated parts, SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B.
SCP-XXXX-A is a randomly occurring lethal cognitohazard that naturally(?) occurs in the thought process of Foundation Personnel. SCP-XXXX-A has an approximately 1 in 2██ chance of happening to any susceptible subject at any given time. It is unknown if SCP-XXXX-A affects/has affected any Groups of Interest. Suspected requirements for SCP-XXXX-A contraction is documented in Addendum XXXX.1 Corpses of people killed by SCP-XXXX-A that still have their lungs attached become instances of SCP-XXXX-A-1 Symptoms of SCP-XXXX-A, constructed from incident data and autopsies from affected individuals after removal of lungs, are as follows:
| Time after exposure |
Affects |
| Immediately |
Coughing, retching |
| 5 seconds |
Internal hemorrhaging |
| After 10 seconds |
Violent hemoptysis |
| After 15 seconds |
Violent seizures |
| After 20 seconds |
Lung ejection |
| After 25-30 seconds |
Death |
SCP-XXXX-B is a compulsive cognitohazard. Subjects affected by SCP-XXXX-B suffer a moderate to severe compulsion to figure out what caused the SCP-XXXX-A-1 instance to expire. This compulsion will become stronger overtime, becoming increasingly obsessive. Subjects suffering from SCP-XXXX-B who successfully figure out SCP-XXXX-A predictably suffer its affects. Suspected requirements for SCP-XXXX-B contraction is documented in Addendum XXXX.2
Due to the fact that SCP-XXXX-B is entirely cognitohazardous in nature, personnel with a sufficiently high CRV can resist its affects for a sufficiently long enough time to facilitate disposal of SCP-XXXX-A instances.
Addendum XXXX.1; Suspected SCP-XXXX-A requirements:
To date, all incidents have involved Foundation Personnel with Level 2 or higher clearance. Due to this and other factors, there is a 96.7% chance that some amount of knowledge of the anomalous is required for SCP-XXXX-A to occur, and a 89.4% chance that some knowledge of the Foundations operations is required for SCP-XXXX-A to occur.
Addendum XXXX.2; Suspected SCP-XXXX-B requirements:
Subjects cannot contract SCP-XXXX-B unless they are succeptable to SCP-XXXX-A and make visual observation, directly or indirectly, of an SCP-XXXX-A-1 instance.
