Special Containment Procedures
SCP 5439, has been declared KETER by ruling of, The 05 Council. Access for research into SCP 5439, is allowed by Level 4 staff, only with the approval of no less than 5 members of the 05 Council, upon recommendation, by On Site Administrator.
Access to SCP 5439 File, is granted to any personnel Level 2 or above, and is required to be given to any Facility personnel assigned to SCP 5439, in any capacity.
SCP 5439, is contained within a Class 4 containment cell At Site 81.
It is always to be guarded, by no less than 2 Level 4 Security Personnel at a time, who avow to no God, Higher Being, or Religion, posted outside the secured chamber door and dutifully armed for combat, An MTF Unit (Hammering Templars)is kept in garrison on site and can respond immediately to any threat presented by SCP 5439 during research.
A Priest versed in Enochian (Forwards, and Reversed), qualified to perform Universal Exorcisms, and trained for Omega Class Demonic/Angelic interaction scenarios is to be kept on staff, and on call 24 hours a day, for research purposes, and in case of a breech.
Within the Level 4 security chamber are 4 Scranton Reality anchors arranged around a concise Thaumatergical Circle. SCP 5439 sits on a plain reading desk, with a chair in front, directly in the center of the circle. Video Cameras, cover every inch and angel of the room, in all light waves. Area Microphones, are arrayed throughout the chamber as well.

Description
SCP 5439 is the journal of a Holy Roman Catholic Priest who lived in the 1500’s, Named Father Antonio De Luca. It has an old stained brown leather cover, and pages of rough, and wrinkled parchment. Written in plain ink with Quil. No historical reference, outside of that within the journal, has been found on Father De Luca, though many Foundation Archivists have searched.
SCP 5439 was found in the possession of a Man, who appeared to one day, have an anomalous psychotic break, and Murdered 36 people at a shopping center in Dubai, some by spontaneous Immolation, Others were torn open with claw and tooth, while others appeared to have died of pure shock, their hearts stopped and eyes turned black solidly thru and thru. The Foundation secured the area and began the cover story of a terrorist attack, and anesthetized the few wounded who managed to survive after debriefing or interrogating them. (See Recovery report 5439 Alpha for details on discovery and obtaining SCP 5439)
The journal was read almost immediately by Foundation researchers, but it was later made apparent that they did not thoroughly read it. (To their own good fortune). And it was originally slated as non-anomalous, and preparing to be shipped to storage in Site XX. Before a Researcher, Dr. [REDACTED], requested permission to have one last look at it, They said “We haven’t been able to determine the anomalous source for Incident 5439, it must be that book. Let me have a look at it, those bookworms, might have missed something important.” Permission was granted, and Dr. [REDACTED] was given access to D-Class personnel, by request. (See Experiment Logs 5439-1 thru 5, for Initial Experiment Logs for SCP-5439) afterwards it was classified as SCP 5439, and research into its classification, and Containment Procedures required, had begun (Experiment Log 5439-10-13 for details on KETER classification)
Father De Luca appears to have been, apart of a secret off shoot of the Vatican previously unrecorded, This Sect called the Disciples of El, who specifically chose its recruits from Priests who had Jewish Heritage, but had converted, along the way. And they trained its members in all manner of Exorcism, Traditions of the Qabalah, The rituals of the Great Solomon, and even the evocation and control over various demons. No records exist to substantiate the claims made by Father De Luca, within any records regarding The Vatican or in any occult reference available to the Foundation.
The journal of Father De Luca by itself, contains an interesting narrative of several, exorcisms, and Rituals performed by Father De Luca and other Disciples. The method of Exorcism always seamed to vary, from person to person, almost never the Standardized Method of Roman Catholic Exorcism, nay not even invocating the power of the Son of God, Jesus, but various other Pagan Gods, to expel demons, from a variety of different people across various countries in Europe, The Middle East and even Northern Africa. But of Particular note, Is the exorcism of a young Adult Male called in the journal, Domhan-Gabh-Saol, translated from Old Irish as “I take life from the world.” (See Journal Entry 5439-A-C, for full details)
After reading the Journal cover to cover, A series of memetic triggers occur, but only if read in its entirety, one link in the memetic chain missed, and it doesn’t have any effect. If so read, one is able to turn it, upside down and backwards, to reveal a second book, which only someone who has undergone the triggers can see and read. It appears to be hewn from much different materials than the original. Its cover is adorned with black hide, and random patches of fur, from an indeterminable animal, Its paper appears to be the skin of the same animal, and the ink used is the blood. No DNA is able to be extracted at all from any of the materials comprising the second book. This Book Contains many dark rituals, to summon things beyond imagination. Old Ones, Fomorian Deep Ones, Demons and Princes of Hell, as well as the invocation of Beings described as Angels and Archangels. And Finally, The Last Ritual, to summon the one called He who walks under the world.
Scattered, throughout the Tome, are Undated journal entries. (See Journal Entries D-I for details). Describing Father De Lucas’s descent into a Thaumetergic Singularity of Madness, Demonic Possession, Murder, and debauchery. These entries as well contain a series of powerful triggers, but there is a selective trigger path, as there are parts, not meant to be read, and containing many varying levels of memetic triggers, including, but not limited too.

If one manages to only read the Journal entries, and a few specific rituals, lists, and essays contained within, then the book may return back into the plain looking journal. And the reader is free to then read the book entirely without fear of any Memetic Trigger, or danger.
As for the rituals and summoning contained within, most seam nearly impossible or ludicrous to perform even for the Foundation. Requiring a variety of unobtainable items, such as The Frozen Heart, of an Ice Queen, A knife bathed in light of a full Samhain Moon, and coated in the Blood of a Baelian, or The Eyes of a Lost Soul Trapped on its path. But the rituals which one must read to clear the triggers, have much more reasonable, and Human components.
Research into rituals effects, were canceled, after the first resulted in Breech, and led to the deaths of 21D-Class, and 27 SCP, Personnel. (See Incident Report 5439/Breech). Research restrictions were then put in place by the 05 council, and Only 1 researcher has been granted regular access to SCP 5439 along with The Priest who stands on call, Dr. Lincoln Godfry. Who is, using D-class, to read the cursed tome, and record the information given for safe keeping in the SCP Database. No approval for ritual enactment can be given without a majority ruling of the 05 Council, as it may result in a XK CLASS end of the world scenario. There have since been 5 separate instances of spontaneous manifestation, from the tome, but Containment procedures in place have proved more than effective.

Recovery Log 5439 Alpha
Video Cameras from inside the shopping mall show the entirety of the incident that occurred. The video contains no audio, the date March 15th 2001 stamped on the bottom right corner with a timer, utilizing a 24 hour format, it reads 15:00:00 Exactly. A still yet identified man, enters the frame, and the incident began. The man is Average height ??m and weighs ???. Dark skin bearded and balding. He wears a dirty red T-Shirt, and torn jeans faded by exposure to the sun.
15:00:01- Man walks in through the front doors of the shopping mall, casually making his way to the center of the structure, with no Incident. He seams as any other mall patron.
15:06:36- The Man stops at the center gathering point in the mall. He begins to appear as if in Major distress.
15:06:56- People begin to gather around the now collapsed man writhing and screaming. Many calling for help, some offering it.
15:07:12- People at the center of the crowd suddenly began pushing and running out, Panic ensues.
15:07:18- Some form of bright flash from the man on the ground. All Cameras white out for 4.5 seconds
15:07:23- The man is floating several feet above the ground. Digital enhancement shows the man to have increased in bulk, his face distorted into a twisted laughing gape. People being drug towards the space directly beneath him by unseen forces. They scramble and claw, but to no avail.
15:09:27- Police Officers finally arrive at the scene unprepared for what was happening. Many having their very feet jerked from under them and drug away as the others were. Bullets have no perceived effect.
15:09:45- An injured woman hiding behind a trash can, and sitting bench, suddenly darts out, and finds a pistol dropped by the Police, she aims directly for the floating man, who begins to spin in place above the floor.
15:09:47- The woman turns the pistol onto herself, places it in her mouth, and pulls the trigger. Killing her immediately.
15:09:54- The mans spin becomes a dance, circling the pile of bodies gathered below him, random rainbows of light followed behind in his path flickering and fading, in and out of view.
15:10:11-45- What can only be determined, as a portal, opens up beneath the pile, and a channel of thaumaturgical energy flows up and through the man. A large, slime encrusted stalk, rose from the portal, Two slits of necrotic flesh, folding away from a center, revealing a serphant's eye, which opens, from the center as well, and reveals, a gaping maw with multiple rows of razor shard teeth. Some liken to knifes, some needles, oozing foul and viscous fluids. What seam like smaller stalks, perhaps limbs of the main stalk begin pulling bodies from the pile down into the portal. Some still living.
15:10:46-59The Grotesque stalk begins wrapping itself around the mans feet and working its way up until it constricts his entire body, excluding the head, as the energy flows through him foot to head, and out upwards, the creature bears down, and bites the mans head off. There is another brilliant flash of light.
15:11:00- The mans headless corpse, falls back down, to the floor, but none of the other bodies remained. No trace of portal or creatures. Just his body, and the signs of chaos wrecked upon the environment.

The mans body was remanded to foundation custody, and found to be non-anomalous, but on his body in his possession, were three items. A magical sigil. Burned into a solid wooden disk. (Non-Anomalous) A pink Crystal, to which no elemental match can be found in the Foundation data base. And a very old worn out journal. Everything possible is being scrutinized in minute detail, to determine the cause of the strange event, so that it may be contained properly. Access to level 4 resources granted By Site Administrator.
