Special Containment Procedures:
SCP XXXX – A: Comprises of 32 (Known) individuals of varying race, age and gender. Located in 27 different countries, no extraordinary containment measures are required, therefore SCP XXXX – A individuals remain at Foundation locations in their home countries and are often able to roam low security areas of the facilities. Most instances of SCP XXXX – A voluntarily sequester themselves in containment cells and do not interact with others, due to SCP XXXX – B’s connection with death.
SCP XXXX – B: Due to its nature is currently uncontainable
Descriptions:
SCP XXXX is comprised of 2 phenomena;
SCP XXXX – A: Individuals with this designation are born on February 29th between 23:59-00:00. Individuals designated SCP XXXX – A have, seemingly from birth, an ability to see an extradimensional entity located behind, but not attached to, every living human which has been dubbed SCP XXXX – A.
SCP XXXX – A individuals do not report seeing these entities behind any other animals, fish or insects though there is a 33.75% recurrence with larger primates, particularly the genus Gorilla and Pan (Common Chimpanzee). Due to this non-recurrence with other life forms many SCP XXXX – A individuals believe the unknown entity to be the human soul. SCP XXXX – A individuals report seeing the entity shift colour, shape and size based on the attached person's mood at the time; anger manifesting as red, contentment as blue, Enjoyment of an activity often manifesting as yellow, etc. This has led Foundation researchers to believe that SCP XXXX – A individuals have always existed throughout human history due to the existence of “Auras” perpetuated by Charles Webster Leadbeater in the early 1900s and belief in “Chakras” which originated in India between 1500 and 500 BC as mentioned in the oldest Vedic text, known as the Vedas.
Many Tests have been performed on SCP XXXX – A individuals including MRI, EEG, PET, CT, MEG and NIR scans no known deviation from the standard make up of the human brain can be found, this has led the Foundation to conclude one of 2 possible scenarios:
1) A method of detection for the deviation which allows SCP XXXX – A individuals to see SCP XXXX – B entities does not yet exist
2) The ability to see the SCP XXXX – B entities is supernatural in nature and being born on the designated time & date is the precursor for this ability as selected by the entities themselves or perhaps a theoretical, as of yet undiscovered, external force.
SCP XXXX – B: Unknown Energy based life form present and following all known human life, the entities are able to vary their size and shape to exactly copy their hosts appearance, they mimic all actions performed by their host. According to testimony of SCP XXXX – A individual ████████████ (see Addendum SCP XXXX – B(2)) “They follow you like shadows, mimicking your outline and gestures, their colours changing on your moods”.
Many SCP XXXX – A individuals report an occurrence when observing a person close to death, the SCP XXXX – B will leave the host body 1-6 hours prior to the subject’s death, this is evident by experiments carried out under the supervision of SCP XXXX – A individuals who report seeing the entity physically fleeing to other rooms, out of windows etc. Once a line of sight is lost on the entity it appears to dematerialise and cannot be relocated (please see addendum SCP XXXX – B(1) for more details). This has left SCP XXXX – A individuals with the exact knowledge of who is likely/about to die, as shown in addendum SCP XXXX – B(1). The test subjects in that instance knew with 100% accuracy which D Class individuals were about to be terminated, whether the D class were introduced in pairs or separately.
Discovery:
The SCP Foundation was first made aware of this phenomenon in 1989 when off duty MFT agents attended a travelling Carnival in ██████████. A “psychic” at the carnival became distressed at the sight of one of the MFT agents and warned him of his impending death, the agent died later that evening in a car crash. The other agents in attendance reported the occurrence to the Foundation who apprehended the “psychic” in question and interviewed her, this led to the discovery of 2 more genuine SCP XXXX – A individuals and several fraudulent performers. It was later confirmed that all three detained individuals were born on February 29th and the window of time was refined to the exact time of February 29th between 23:59-00:00. Since then the Foundation has acquired a total of 32 genuine SCP XXXX – A individuals.

Dr: Recording begins on ██/██/██ at exactly 0900 hours, I’ll just be referring to you as Subject today, for your own safety of course.

Dr: *laughs* No, nothing like that, guard please bring in our participant.
door opens, a single D class male is brought in
Dr: Subject can you see the SCP XXXX – B entity behind this man?
Subject: Yes, it’s Brown, he’s confused or… scared?
Dr: Guard please proceed.
Guard draws a pistol and aims it at the D class participant
D Class: NO! I DIDN’T DO ANYTHING, I FOLLOWED THE RULES!
Dr: can you still see it? (referring to the SCP XXXX – B entity)
Subject: Yes, you aren’t going to kill him, are you?
Dr: No, guard that’s enough get rid of him.
guard leaves the room
Dr: Do you always know, Every time?
Subject: Yeah, I told you… Every time they leave the person dies.
Dr: Do they ever come back? Let’s say if a person’s heart is stopped then restarted?
Subject: I dunno, I’ve never seen that happen.
Dr: Perhaps we can arrange a controlled setting for you to view that?
Guard re-enters with a second D Class, also male
Subject (visibly distressed): please don’t, please, I don’t want to watch this
Dr: Can you see an entity?
Subject: please don’t make me watch!
Dr: Please state if you can see the SCP XXXX – B entity behind the man who just entered.
Subject (now crying): please… I don’t want to be part of this.
Dr: if you visibly state for the record then we won’t make you watch █████████, my apologies… Subject.
Subject: NO! NO THERE IS NO DAMN AURA YOU’RE GOING TO KILL HIM AREN'T YOU!
D Class is now also visibly distressed; the guard has drawn his pistol
Dr: you may fire.
Guard discharges single round and the D Class is terminated
Subject: *Incoherent* Why *Incoherent* you promised me I wouldn’t have to watch.
Dr: I had to lie, it was part of the experiment, Guard please return the subject to her room, inform clean-up crews to prepare for the next round. Please retrieve Subject 2 and don’t let her interact with him when you bring him up next, it will ruin vali-

Post recording notes – subject was returned to her room without encountering subject 2, she remained distressed by the events of this recording for several days and required some counseling.

Dr: Recording begins on ██/██/██ at exactly 10:00 hours, I’ll just be referring to you as Subject 2 today, for your own safety of course.
Subject 2: Come on Doc, you can call me █████████ we’ve been friends for a while now
Dr: I must state that for safety and objectivity purposes I don’t consider you my friend, more of an acquaintance furthermo-
Subject 2: So what’s with the muscle?
Dr: clears throat Today our interview will be slightly different, two men are about to enter this room, in 7-12 hours one of them has been selected to be terminated, I’m not going to tell you which one or when. When the entity following that person leaves the room, I want you to follow it and tell us which man is going to die.
Subject 2: nah no way, you can’t just kill people for an experiment, it’s sick!
Dr: these two men are both convicted killers who have outstanding death sentences, the Foundation has every right to dispense justice and both men have agreed to sign their bodies over to science so there are no ethical quandaries here Subject 2.
Subject 2: Listen ███████ you can justify this however you want but I won’t do it.
Dr: Then we’ll kill them both, in front of you. You’ll also lose privileges and be kept in isolation until you cooperate.
Subject 2: You can’t do that I’m a volunteer, I want to leave now.
Dr: You ceased being a volunteer a long time ago. These entities could be dangerous and until we know, for certain, that they aren’t you need to help us. Comply… please.
Subject 2: Fine… just wait until I follow it out of the room to… y’know.
Dr: Agreed, Guard please escort them in.
The guard escorts in male 2 D class, all sit in the room for the next 4 hours talking (omitted for length purposes. Subject 2 gets up and points to one of the D class, he proceeds to leave the room
Dr: Following subject 2 at a brisk pace down the corridor… subject has broken into a run. █████████ slow down!
Subject 2: It’s too fast Doc… he’s gone down the stair well!
Sounds of running as Dr ███████ catches up to subject 2 a distant gunshot is heard
Dr: well, where is it?
Subject 2: It’s gone, I was right behind it, I lost sight for like a second when it went into the stairs.
Dr: Thank you Subject 2, you did well today, please make any request of acquisitions not exceeding your monthly allowance and we’ll try to get it for you.

Post Recording notes – Subject 2 still maintains he lost sight of the SCP XXXX – B entity for a few seconds in the closed stairwell and it dematerialised, additional testing may be required in a more closed environment.

Dr: This is Dr: ██████ commencing interview with subject ██████ on ██/██/██ at 1300 hours. Can you tell me what age you first saw the entities? (referring to SCP XXXX – B)
Subject: Forever, they’ve always been there. It wasn’t until I was 11 that I realised other people couldn’t see them, mind if I smoke?
Dr: Go ahead, what happened when you were 11 to make you realise that?
Subject: Subject can be heard lighting a cigarette My Grandma died, leukemia, I asked my mom “Momma What happened to grandmas light?” and we had a long talk about what I could see. My mom was a spiritualist type of nut job you see; crystals, sage and that bullcrap and she tells me “██████ you’re special, you can see how people feel, if they’re good or bad, you have the gift” of course I tell all my friends and get teased something fierce at school. I never talked about it again, well not until you people found me.
Dr: can you tell me what they look like to you and how often you see them?
Subject: They follow you like shadows, mimicking your outline and gestures, their colours changing on your moods. I always see them, except when they ain’t there that’s when I know someone is going to die, it’s like rats fleeing a sinking ship.
Dr: what do you mean by that? Some of the others think it’s the soul you can see, they think the soul leaves the body for the afterlife and that’s why the entity leaves.
Subject: You mean ██████? She's crazy, like my mom. I used to think something weren’t wired right up here see subject taps his temple but I put two and two together, the lights going and people dying, that’s how I knew I weren’t crazy. Now there’s other and they see what I see.
Dr: And the metaphor you used, “Rats fleeing a sinking ship”?
Subject: Whatever these things are; souls or auras, chakras, aliens, angels I dunno but they abandon us before the end so I reckon they ain’t nothing good.
Dr: do you have one, one of these light’s or entities I mean?
Subject: I dunno… there always behind you and I can’t see them in reflections, photos or videos so I guess so or I’d be dead right?
Dr: have you asked one of the other’s if they see yours?
Subject: No.
Dr: can you see theirs?
Subject: I don’t wanna talk about this no more.
Dr: ██████ Can you see entities behind other people like you?

Subject: I’d like to go back to my room now.

An altercation is heard and the doctor calls for the guards, subject is restrained and dragged from room

Post Recording notes – Subject refuses to talk about why he became agitated when asked about his or other SCP XXXX- A’s having the SCP XXXX – B entities, it's likely that they do not possess an entity and therefore why they can see other people's SCP XXXX - B. The very occurrence of the entity being attached to a person renders them unable to see it. Further testing is required.
