The Screaming Record

Item #: SCP-4631

Object Class: Safe Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4631 is currently being held at Site-██. SCP-4631 is to be held in a 20 Meter by 20 Meter room made of concrete padded with standard issue soundproofing foam. SCP-4631s containment chamber must be kept under visual and audio surveillance at all times. SCP-4631 is required to be kept in a small metal container with a standard lock used to secure it. During times where it is not tested, it is to be closed shut, with soundproof padding on the outside of it. If any wear or tear is seen to be forming in the chamber, site personnel are to repair it well wearing ear protection used by aircraft carrier deck crew.

Description: SCP-4631 is a 2ft wide and 3ft long record player made by Fisher Price in 1978. The box that it was found in was badly damaged consistent with rain damage over an extended period of time, however, the record player itself was undamaged, and contained a record of ███ ████ ████ - ██████ █████. When the record of ██████ █████ is played a screaming sound can be heard from any subject in the room it is being contained in. ███ ████ ████ - ██████ █████ is now to be referred to as SCP-4631-2.

Any site personnel that hear any strange noise produced by SCP-4631 If any personnel are in the same room as SCP-4631 or are subjected to SCP-4631-2s music played through SCP-4631, they must be taken from the room immediately, and subjected for an extensive psychological test. From here on out, they will be known as SCP-4631-3. Afterward, SCP-4631-3 will be released and put under heavy observation for any change in behavior or large change of schedule. If either of these events happen, SCP-4631-3 is subject to being put on lockdown, or in extreme cases of angry behavior, terminated, if [DATA EXPUNGED] sees it is fit. Any D-Class personnel that enter the chamber for testing or otherwise are to be interviewed, psychologically tested as per usual, and terminated after testing ends.

Report of initial recovery of SCP-4631

MTF-███ Was notified of SCP-4631 when a suburban family living in [DATA EXPUNGED], Ohio called local law enforcement due to having an extreme sense of paranoia, and hearing screams well listening to music. Local Law Enforcement arrived on scene to the family collapsed in the front door and on the yard, with large lacerations covering their bodies, and to a self-reported, "Ear piercing screech". All local law enforcement units that had arrived on scene ran back to their vehicles and fled the scene, which was when MTF-███ was called in, and arrived shortly. They were able to identify the source of the loud scream as coming from SCP-4631 and turned it off without further incident. All witnesses were given Class B Amnestics and were seen to return to normal behavior. SCP-4631 was then moved to Site-██ where it currently is contained.

Test 4631-E-1 - 22-08-07
Test Subject: D-91832
Procedure
D-91832 is to enter the containment chamber of D-91832 wearing a headset (spoken of in SCP-4631s containment procedures) and turn on the record player. The subject will then take the headset off and be told to observe any change in what they hear or any physical changes. D-91832 will then be admitted to a psychological test, and then will be given Class B amnestics by approved personnel.

Results

D-91832 was instructed to enter the containment chamber of SCP-4631 wearing headphones previously spoken of and was told to turn on the record player. D-91832 was uncooperative, stating he felt a great unease and was nervous in the presence of 4631. D-91832 was told again to turn it on, again, refusing to do so. Dr. █████ and Dr. ███████ reminded D-91832 that if he failed to comply, he would be terminated. D-91832 walked slowly to the record player and turned it on. D-91832 was told to then take off the headset, and following much hesitation, the subject took them off. For a few moments video surveillance shows D-91832 acting as seemingly confused, before backing up into a corner and experiencing labored breathing. Dr. █████ and Dr. ███████ attempted to make contact with D-91832, but with no success. D-91832 fell to the floor, and began to cover his ears and show signs of extreme distress. 2 armed guards wearing the headset entered the containment chamber, quickly turning SCP-4631 off, restraining D-91832, and removing him from the room.

Analysis of Test 4631-E-1
After much one-sided conversation to the subject, we managed to get them to talk. The interview will be under 4631-I-1. Any further Interviews will be subsequently titled according to this. All further documented testing of SCP-4631 will be kept under 4631-E. Results of this testing have shown a few things that will be important to future testing.
- First, SCP-4631 is able to create very loud noises, peeking at 134 dB, comparable to that of a military jet taking off.
-Any subjects exposed to SCP-4631 by any means will become extremely agitated. After a psychological test, the D class personnel, and the 2 armed guards were deemed mentally stable, and put back to normal duty. See Incident Report 4631-A-1 for more information.

Test 4631-E-2 - 17-10-07
Test Subject: D-92534
Procedure
D-92534 will be instructed to enter the containment chamber of SCP-4631 with a vinyl record of Beethoven's 7th Symphony and to place it in the Fisher Play vinyl player.

Results

D-92534 was instructed to enter the containment chamber of SCP-4631 and place the record onto SCP-4631 and turn it on. D-92534 complied with no hesitance. At turning it on the record player began to rapidly speed up, making noises that resemble that of a train passing. Eventually, the vinyl of Beethoven's 7th Symphony flew off of the record player, striking D-92534, cutting a very small amount of flesh from the subjects left upper thigh. The subject was immediately brought out of the chamber and was given medical attention.

Analysis

It is notable that SCP-4631 appeared to have acted in a manner not shown in the last test.

Incident Report 4631-A-1

In correlation with Interview, 4631-I-1 4631-A-1 occurred on [DATA EXPUNGED]

On 09/11/██ 3 men were found dead at Site-██. All 3 causes of death were found to be suicide. 2 of the men were found dead due to self-inflicted gunshot wounds to the skull, with wounds on both subjects being the same. 1 gunshot wound to the upper right skull, no exit wound, no bullet found inside. The situation of the D-Class being much more severe. During an interview, the D-Class personnel died suddenly. The cause of death was found to be large cuts seeming to be made using human teeth. Further testing is to be denied until further notice.

SCP-4631 is yet to be completed and needs a whole lot of work. Any tips, corrections, or advice is greatly appreciated, seeing as this is my first SCP.
