Special Containment Procedures: Containment of SCP-XXXX

Due to the unpredictability and variation of SCP-XXXX events, containment is to be focused on suppression of knowledge regarding SCP-XXXX and cover up involving witnesses, victims, and others affected by SCP-XXXX-1 instances.

Witnesses of SCP-XXXX events are to be administered Class-B amnestics. Those who had frequent contact with, are related to, or otherwise have knowledge of SCP-XXXX-1 instances and other related fatalities due to SCP-XXXX are to be given a cover story regarding the death of all related persons1 administered Class A amnestics. Evidence pertaining to the existence of all SCP-XXXX-1 instances and other related fatalities is to be destroyed.

Description: SCP-XXXX refers to an anomalous event where an affected individual, designated SCP-XXXX-12, will create a bonfire and begin to add a number of objects to the fire. SCP-XXXX events conclude when the SCP-XXXX-1 instance self-immolates.

SCP-XXXX events begin to manifest when an SCP-XXXX-1 instance encounters a significant life event that ends in varying levels of grief, sadness, or injury. In all known cases, the SCP-XXXX event will occur 1-3 days after the effects manifest.

SCP-XXXX has also demonstrated the anomalous effect of giving witnesses to SCP-XXXX events a general distaste in intervening or attempting to stop ongoing SCP-XXXX events. This effect has been reported to subside following the conclusion of SCP-XXXX events. While SCP-XXXX has not proven to be cognito hazardous, it has been shown that the fallout of one SCP-XXXX event can lead to another event.

Event Log XXXX-A:

The following is a log detailing notable SCP-XXXX events, including the date, theorized cause pertaining to each event, description of event, and actions taken by the SCP Foundation following each event. Certain information has been redacted to prevent identification of victims.

Date Believed Cause Description of SCP-XXXX Event Foundation Actions Taken
26/10/1987 SCP-XXXX-1-A had lost nearly all monetary savings, as well as having been laid off following the global stock market crash on 19/10/19873. SCP-XXXX instance created a small fire near ████████, and proceeded to throw a cellphone, one set of business formal clothing, and what was perceived to be SCP-XXXX-1-A's remaining cash. As this was not yet perceived to be an anomalous event, no actions were taken at first. Upon occurrence of several more SCP-XXXX events, news regarding SCP-XXXX was censored and SCP-XXXX-1's obituary was altered.
05/██/19██ SCP-XXXX-1-P had crashed during the qualification stage during the ███████ grand prix. SCP-XXXX-1-P suffered major injuries, among them a spinal injury resulting in paralysis to the lower half of the body. SCP-XXXX-1-P created a fire in their garage, and proceeded to throw multiple posters and picture frames depicting various well known racing series drivers and vehicles, followed by self immolation. Media, family members, and friends of SCP-XXXX-1-P were given a cover story regarding the details of the SCP-XXXX event.
10/█/2004 SCP-XXXX-1-X's spouse had disappeared with their children. A note was recovered on the outskirts of the SCP-XXXX site, percieved to be from SCP-XXXX-1-X's spouse. It was detailed that SCP-XXXX-1-X "never cared for us" and "just wanted to be the richest guy around." SCP-XXXX-1-X set fire to their own home. Witnesses reported SCP-XXXX-1-X standing in front of the house for approximately 15 minutes before walking into the burning house. Witnesses were administered amnestics. Family and friends were given a cover story regarding the true nature of SCP-XXXX-1-X's death and the destruction of the property.
11/█/20██ SCP-XXXX-1-AJ was reported by a relative to have suffered from alcoholism. From security footage and documentation from various source, it was discovered that SCP-XXXX-1-AJ had visited ████████ bar approximately 2 weeks following checking out of ████████ addiction rehabilitation center. The SCP-XXXX-1 instance created a fire in their apartment. Contrary to most known SCP-XXXX events, it is believed no items were added to the fire before self-immolation. Witnesses were administered amnestics. Family and friends of SCP-XXXX-1-AJ were given a cover story regarding the true nature of the SCP-XXXX event.
13/█/20██ SCP-XXXX-1-AK's brother had died 2 days prior. SCP-XXXX-1-AK created a fire in their childhood home and proceeded to burn any and all content related to the parents of SCP-XXXX-1-AK before self-immolating. Upon the realization of the correlation between this SCP-XXXX event and the previous, containment procedures were updated. Witnesses, friends, and remaining relatives of SCP-XXXX-AK and SCP-XXXX-AJ were administered amnestics and all content proving the existence of the two instances were confiscated by the Foundation.
2█/3/2011 SCP-XXXX-B█'s dog had been euthanized the previous day following a collision with an automobile. SCP-XXXX-B█ started a fire in their backyard and added 4 empty alcohol bottles to the fire. Witnesses report SCP-XXXX-1-B█ poured at least one bottle into the fire before self-immolation. All known relatives and associates of SCP-XXXX-1-B█ were administered amnestics and any evidence proving the existence of SCP-XXXX-1-B█ was confiscated by the Foundation.
15/7/2014 SCP-XXXX-1-CE's spouse, SCP-XXXX-1-CF, had been diagnosed with a terminal illness. Both instances self-immolated following a fire started in their shared residence. It is unkown whether one or both persons involved in this event were SCP-XXXX-1 instances. The location of the SCP-XXXX event was not discovered until approximately 7 months following the event. Given that there were no known witnesses to the event itself and neither instance had remaining relatives, amnestics were deemed unnecessary and authorities were given a cover story regarding the event.
21/9/20██ SCP-XXXX-1-█Z had been rejected after asking a coworker out on a date SCP-XXXX-1-█Z started a large fire near ████████ State Park. SCP-XXXX-1-█Z then carried another person, later identified as the previously mentioned coworker, into the fire. Witnesses report that the person carried into the fire was struggling against SCP-XXXX-1-█Z. All known witnesses and associates of both SCP-XXXX-1-█Z and the victim were administered amnestics. All evidence proving the existence of SCP-XXXX-1-█Z and the victim was confiscated by the foundation.
