An image of SCP-3945 before being taken to Site-19

Item #: SCP-3945

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3945 is to be kept in a small room fitted with 2 electrical outlets, a small entertainment center, two chairs and three fluorescent lights which should be kept on at all times. SCP-3945's cell is to be locked at all times and closely monitored by at minimum two surveillance personnel in order to prevent unauthorized person(s) from entering SCP-3945's cell. SCP-3945 is to be constantly plugged into a wall outlet and cleaned every two weeks in order to prevent deterioration of the television set.

Description: SCP-3945 is a small Goldstar brand television set from approximately 1985,
however carbon dating suggests the TV has existed since ██████. The television itself does not broadcast any normal television programs but rather displays previously undocumented historical events. During early testing D-class personnel were sent in to watch the TV. Once turned on SCP-3945 seemed to be displaying what appeared to be T.V. static, However D-class personnel reported the T.V. as displaying [REDACTED].

SCP-3945 was discovered in an abandoned suburb in southern ████. After multiple complaints of anomalous activity were called in to the facility, a small task force was sent in to investigate the area.
Once discovered, site personnel switched on the TV only to find it playing ██████████████████ after which █████████ ordered the team to transport it to Site-19. SCP-3945 is not to be watched for longer than 5 hours at a time by any personnel who do not possess a high capacity for psychological/mental trauma, D-Class personnel who have watched the TV for any longer than 5 hours went into a stasis known as SCP-3945-1

SCP-3945 is especially dangerous if viewed for long periods of time, as those who watch for increasingly longer become more or less addicted to viewing its broadcasts. Subjects will insist on watching for longer once testing has concluded. Foundation staff have monitored brain activity during testing and have concluded viewing SCP-3945 for longer periods of time releases dopamine in the subjects brain. In some rare cases subjects have experienced withdrawal once pulled away from SCP-3945 for extended periods of time.

Any Attempts to open SCP-3945 have proven unsuccessful and any further attempts are considered a waste of time. Testing is still active as of █████. The TV itself is considered very vital by foundation staff and is not to be destroyed until it is "fully understood".

SCP-3945-1: SCP-3945-1 is the stasis subjects endure after viewing the T.V. for longer than 5 hours. Examination of D-class personnel who have entered this stasis show that brain activity is still relatively normal indicating that any person(s) who enter this state are still aware of their surroundings, however all motor function appears to be non-functional and therefore all SCP-3945-1 are paralyzed. There is no current "cure" for this state as of █████ and all who enter this stasis are to be terminated after 3 days of examination.

Addendum 3945-C

Test ██
Subject(s): ~35 year old male; illiterate. ~23 year old male; highly intelligent
Duration: 4 hours and 12 minutes
Opening Event First inauguration of Grover Cleveland
Closing Event First embalming of Vladimir Lenin
Result: Before the conclusion of the closing broadcast the 35 year old subject collapsed to the ground of a suspected heart attack. an autopsy revealed that an over exposure to higher and higher levels of dopamine caused his heart to beat more and more rapidly until it finally ceased function. The 23 year old subject was still able to recall all events broadcast fairly well and after given psychological analysis was cleared and sent back to his holding cell
