Turns 18 June 20th, 1975

Got engaged to Jonathan on June 27th, 1975

The school year ends on the 6th of July

Got pregnant on or around September 13, 1975. That same week she attends a party with her fiancé celebrating back to school.

Joins the cheerleading squad for her final year with her best friend

Mid October remarks that she's late and that she's usually on time

Considers she might be pregnant in early November despite still being a virgin. She questions whether she could have lost her virginity at the party she went to without remembering it.

Tells her best friend that she thinks she might be pregnant.

The wedding is planned for mid-January, over Christmas break she is outed by fellow cheerleaders who her best friend gossiped to behind her back.

She is shunned by the community and her parents before she is forced to leave the cheerleading squad and over the next couple of months, she is bullied by her former fellow cheerleaders including her former best friend.

June 20th, 1975:

Happy Birthday to me! It was my 18th birthday today and I got this diary… Hello Diary! I don't know what I'm going to write as my life isn't that interesting but I'll try my best to tell you the interesting bits. Oh, My name is Maria Woods by the way… I should've introduced myself earlier. Anyway, my amazing, handsome, amazing boyfriend Jonathan is coming over to take me to a movie. I can't wait, I love him so so so much!!!

June 27th, 1975:

Oh my god Oh my god Oh my god Oh my god Oh my god Oh my god Oh my god Oh my god Oh my god Oh my god Ok I'm tired of writing that so many times… But Jonathan PROPOSED to me!!! Of course I said yes, how could I not! I love him more than ever! Mom was so happy for me. Thanks Mom! I wonder when our wedding will be? Oh god I can't believe I'm thinking about this. Turns out my life might turn out to be interesting after all Diary. You will be a great friend to me.
