Item #: SCP-7102
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: See testing document 'SCP-7102 T1' for further information on testing conditions. SCP-7102 must remain bolted to the floor at all times, whilst under careful surveillance. Those tasked with surveilling SCP-7102 are advised to change shifts regularly, as it is particularly skilled in toying with the human mind. Any deviation from containment procedure could result in serious consequences, including termination from your position.
Description: SCP-7102 is a large wooden bedframe, spanning 6 feet by 8. Ornate carvings and woodwork spans the entire frame, from the foot to the headboard, depicting popular scenes from religion. The wood always looks and smells quite fresh, despite the frame being dated as far back as 1892. The reason for this is currently unknown to staff, though small samples of wood have been collected for analysis. When discovered by our reclaimation team, SCP-7102 is thought to have become frightened and attacked, as all present were forced to leave the room complaining of a high low frequency hum and intense nausea.
Should SCP-7102 be surveilled for too long by any one person, their psyche will slowly begin to unravel, experiencing visual as well as auditory hallucinations of what is often their greatest regret. Only two staff members to date have ever had such an experience. Firstly, (REDACTED) was tasked with observing SCP-7102 during March of 2010. Shortly before his shift was to end, his superior returned to find him deceased and lying on top of SCP-7102, his mouth open and his eyes agape, dry tears clearly visible on his face. Soon after, a no contact order was given for SCP-7102 and employees were instructed only to conduct visual surveillance from then on. However, this plan soon fell apart as well, when (REDACTED), a scientist tasked with the containment of SCP-7102, was found dead from a self inflicted gunshot wound at his desk. He had been observing the SCP for several hours previous, the monitor still displaying the image of an old wooden headboard. After that, a mandatory 20 minute shift change was put in place for SCP-7102
Additional Notes: The only existing historical records of SCP-7102 come from personal testimomy from those who have come into contact with it. Since 1892, there have been fourteen known owners of SCP-7102, though it is not known how many, if any, came before that point. Records begin in 1892, when a man in
Krüstlefacht, Germany, purchased a bed frame from an estate sale. During the weeks following, he wrote of being plagued by terrible visions of deceased family and friends, as well as his own deceased form speaking to him from beyond. This was only discovered when his journal was found, after his apparent suicide by hanging. This cycle continued with every owner until 2005, when the SCP Foundation took possession of the cursed piece of furniture.
