__Special containment procedures __
All original files of SCP XXXX are to be kept in secure storage at site 45. copies of the original files are only permitted under authorisation of the O-5 council. These are to be destroyed after the project is completed and researchers are to be given amnesiacs.

All prototypes created from these files are to be rendered safe and dismantled after testing.

In the event of a containment breach (e.g. unauthorised copies or prototype production), all copies of SCP xxxx and prototypes are to be retrieved and destroyed by any means deemed appropriate.

Description
SCPxxxx is a set of files depicting the schematics and manufacturing process for a series of directed energy weapons ranging from pistol sized guns to the size of destroyer class frigate cannons. Upon use of the prototypes the target begins to suffer molecular rearrangement¹. however, rarely the subject can be transmuted into a range of other items.
Such items include:
A pile of concrete and rebar rubble that leaks tannic acid
A sentient crystal with the mind of a child
A table lamp that works despite no power cord²
A flock of chickens that lay live born chicks instead of eggs.

Any test subjects that are transmuted retain the same mass as before.

Each time a test subject is transmuted it is assigned a number (scpxxxx-n) and stored for further testing.

Scpxxxx was first discovered in (redacted), UK at the national archives Kew. It is not known who had archived the thirteen (13) page document³ however, quickly after the discovery of said files. The British government labelled them top secret.

The foundation became aware of the documents after reports of anomalous activity from the village of Shackerley roughly 2km from RAF Cosford⁴, upon interviewing personnel stationed at the airfield, the O-5 council authorised the deployment of Mobile task force Pi 8 "broken arrow" beta squads. All four agents where recruited from the airbase and tasked with the retrieval of data concerning any anomalous activity.
Mtf pi 8 beta discovered the documents alongside a number of prototypes within the base's underground labs, these prototypes where in various stages of construction⁵.

Mtf pi 8 beta retrieved the original files, corrupted all digital files and successfully rendered the prototypes dysfunctional beyond repair.

__Document analysis __

The following is a transcript of an audio log by Dr Bates.

Lead Researcher Dr Bates, Head of anomalous weaponry research division at site 43

Begin log: The documents show a weapon system that is quite alien in concept but perfectly reproducible with simple tools and common materials. the patent paper work is alien to say the least. No one from the language team can decipher this scripture. In addition to this difficulty, there have been reports that the scripture is cognitohazardous whilst work is undertaken to decipher it with staff reporting visual hallucinations warning them not to continue, following this development, i have advised all translation work to cease for the time being.

My team is still unsure of its origins, the writing style is similar to documents pulled from both the factory and Andersons robotics but is also different, it is truly an enigma at this point!

The document consists of the three page patent, a two page schematic and equipment list and an eight page user guide complete with assembly instruction. What is peculiar about this document is that the written language, besides the patent information, is not set. The ink shifts to the native language of the reader. It does not matter if the language is purely verbal, the person can still read it and follow the instructions!

I have conducted tests on many people including non verbal autistic patients and severely dyslexic patients all can still understand the document!.

It gets stranger when the prototypes are constructed however. No matter the material, the prototype still works! I have seen one prototype made from folded paper and powered with raspberry jelly! When it comes to testing each prototype the effects are usually the same. My team set the weapon up in a clamp and stand, we set a target, any thing from a D class personnel who is due termination or a lab animal, we pull the trigger, there’s a white flash and the target becomes a puddle of goo, except sometimes the target is changed into something new. I have personally only seen this once since starting this project where the subject, a d class personnel was changed into a flock of live bearing chickens that reproduce asexually. These where taken off for further study.

Anyway I digress, the prototypes are capable of effecting both organic or inorganic targets in equal measures. After each test, the prototypes are destroyed and the researchers are given amnestic.

The original document is currently stored within our vault along side other, more sensitise files. I feel like there is much to learn about this item in future experiments.

1. The process of this appears to be near instantaneous, occurring within 3 milliseconds after the prototype has been fired. Organic subject appear to suffer no pain.

2. The lamp is currently in use by Dr Bates in his privet study.

3. Interviews with staff at the archive suggest that they believed it to be a joke document planted as a prank by a colleague.

4. The village was being investigated at first by MTF Epsilon 6 "village idiots" as an on going investigation regarding anomalous activity in and around the village.

5. MTF pi 8 beta agents where tasked with the construction and testing of the prototypes whilst at the air base. Their reports indicated the use of human test subjects. It was apparent that the prototypes where produced for field testing at the time of their destruction.
